    Space Wolves have the Wulfen, Blood Angels have the Black Rage, and the Thousand Sons have the Flesh Change. Lots of mutation going on among the early Space Marine legions. Wonder if the missing Legions experienced even worse mutations.

      shimmy Of the three from worst to best, Flesh Change -> Black Rage -> Wulfen Curse.
      The Flesh Change is the worst because of turns the Thousand Son legionnaires into Chaos Spawn or mutates them until they die. No glorious death, no redemption, just Spawndom. To be rendered from the Smartest marines around to an unthinking mass of meat.
      Then Black Thirst. You will die, but you will gain redemption by dying in battle, standing in the shoes of your Primarch as he faces Horus. Its a poetic end. Terrible, but poetic.
      Wulfen, while being corrupted and like wild animals, still seem in control of them selves. They are still normal-ish. They don’t butcher friend and foe alike like Death Company, and they don’t turn into witless walking meat bags like the Flesh Change.

    • @robskovira5626
      @robskovira5626 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@joshuaturnquist5538 Also the Wulfen "curse" seemingly helps against further mutation or corruption by Chaos. I think it has been strongly hinted at. I've heard a theory somewhere either it was accidental or purposesly done. One part of the theory states that when the Emperor Created the Canis Helix it was to combat the corruption of chaos entirely, in addition he would essentially have Marine killers if the need arose he had to put down a Legion of Space Marines. The other part was that if they Space wolves did fall to mutation, well the mutation would take the form of the Wulfen therefore it could be controlled in a a sense. but those are just theories that I've heard.

I was just having the discussion tonight about how weird it is for SW to field Primaris Wolf Lords when all of our Wolf Lords are named and accounted for except the two that died and how could a jump pack company and a vehicle heavy company be replaced by a unit that cannot use jump packs nor pile into the majority of the vehicles used by the Iron Wolves.

    Russ comes from Sweden. It was Swedish Vikings from a specifik part of Sweden that called them selfs Russ or Ross witch meant Rower/oarsman in old Swedish (very like Swedish today aswell). These were the Vikings that colonized Russia aswell, but also travelled all the way down to the Ottoman Empire, were some stayed.
    The relative of these Swedish Vikings that colonized parts of Western Russia are the once that founded Russia as a country. We cant be certain, but some historianse think that the name of the Country Russia are conected to the name Russ that the Vikings were called witch once again meant orsmen, people Rowing boats 😊

  • @acerock013
    @acerock013 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    "Roos" comes from the Kyiven-Rus Kingdom from the 10th-14th centuries. The Varangians is plural for Varyag which loosely translates as "Companion" or "Oathman" and has largely become interchangeable with the term Viking for the Eastern European. Varangians of note such as Harald Hardrada fought all across the Mediterranean for Emperor Michael II. So Leman Rus, if he is to be thought of as a far future Sapce Varangian, should be pronounced Lehman Roos. The Einherjar are "The Ones Who Fight" or "The Ones Who Belong to the Army" and they are the warriors brought to Valholl (Valhalla) by the Valkyries. They are the guys who fight every day and feast all night in preparation for Ragnarok when the Wolf Fenrir devours the moon.

    • @worldeater2414
      @worldeater2414 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      People debate who devours Sol and her brother, is it Fenrir? Is it the two wolves who stalk the sky, chasing the moon and sun giving man a semblance of a cycle?
      Is it Garm? The hound of Hel?
      Only during the first signs of Ragnarok, when the year falls to the three year long winter, colder and longer than any other in human history will mankind bay to the sky as oceans churn and humans die.
      The family you once had will fall apon each other, like the infamous wolf Fenrir; and all will begin the killing time.
      That is just the beginning of those days, and how and when they begin is anyone's guess.

    Here's the thing and a greater view on the wolfen.
    Russ knew that the beast within him never could be tamed nor held back and hence went into the wrap for reason unknown to this date (Maybe its the tree if life deal or its the theme of him personally "Dying" and succumb to the curse.)
    So the true question is, those whom have calmed the curse are still doomed to succumb to its beast within? In the long run even their gene father with his all mighty will power and character, couldn't tame the beast forever.
    I get GW's is throwing out markting sales here and there, but ever since Magnus the Red sieged Fenris i've always wondered about the stage of the Space Wolves, their Primaris marines, the recovery of the legion itself.

    adding an extra 's' to make 'russ' would typically change the pronunciation to its ostensible phoenetic one. in other words.. you are correct 😀

    Being nordic. I also read em with english pronounces. I understand what the Nordic names are but they are mixed with English names, Ragnar in Nordic sounds really good. But Ragnar in Nordic but add in Blackmane sounds really strange. I must almost say Blackmane in broken English as they do in bad vikingmovies when i try. Bjorn comes from Björn which means Bear. Björn fellhand sounds stupid so I say Bjorn with english sounds. All nordic names would have been cool but mixing em just sounds strange. They have a nordic Touch to make em seem viking like too englishmen. Even if they share culture things as well.

      Yeah, from the gothenburg region, geat = göt in swedish, gothenburg = göteborg, which lies in götaland, land of the geats. I should specify that the translations of everything is to modern day swedish, in old nordic its meaning is a little different, not by much, but still different. If you look at enhärjer, in old nordic its supposed to mean something like one fighter or one warrior, här/her is an old word for horde/warband/army, still used somewhat in modern day swedish to describe the armys of old kings and such. But the word härja has evolved to something like rampage, so if I where to say vikingarna härjade i england, it would translate best as the vikings rampaged in england, in modern day swedish

English is not simple, it's over complicated to a stupid degree.. very few words all apply to the same system.. where as most languages have simple conjugation of verbs, rules for masculine/feminine nouns, and you don't have something stupid like a "dangling participle."
