Kharne was so badass that even Horus gave him, instead of Angron, a kill counter. I mean, Angron could've gotten one if it wasn't for him not wearing a helmet all the time
Don’t discredit my Primarch, because it was him who had saved us from certain defeat during the climactic battle for Nuceria. Lorgar, perhaps the most philosophical amongst the Primarchs, had said that only Angron was capable of rivaling Horus in combat.
And then there was the battle for Terra...that one was glorious. One million souls smitten by Gorechild. All of them mine.

The world eaters really do need some of the love that the death guard and thousand sons got with there new codexes.
I think it's safe to say they'll get it eventually. Them and the Emp's Kids will probably get an update on par with the thousand sons and DG, then there would be a CSM faction for each Chaos god and the Black legion as an allrounder .

Khorne is in fact "Honour" in slaughter of all things, hence why the true champion of Khorne is Kharn.
Kharn is both a honourbound warrior as well as a savage killer than anything else.
Both Angrons and his legion's story is a heartbreaking one, Angron wanted to died along side his fellow gladiator brothers, he was denied both death and honour by his father "the emperor". I totally get why Angron hated his legion, they were all made by the person whom denied him everything he wanted, a final and meaningful death. Peace.
Also to note that Angron became what he hated by the actions of Emperor himself, he became the tyrant and enslaver.
i think that god of honor in combat that was one of khornes traits has been retconned, now its khorne cares not from where the blood flows

To be honest the honor trait makes the khornate more interesting, and logistic wise it makes sense, since you have a bunch of ravaging berserker that fight wars on a daily basis and killing and getting killed by everything is going to bleed you dry easily if they don’t spare women and children they lose a huge resource pool for soliders, potential space marine recruitments, not to mention not every berserking warlord and tyrant have a planet full of daemoncula to birth them new recruits so sparing some weaklings and train them to make a bigger slaughter seems like would make khorne happier

Excellent video! Kharn was one of the first characters I gravitated to, way back in 2nd Edition. Although there is one who has since surpassed him. One so beloved that the Dark Prince is loathe to part with. A duelist without peer. One who is martial perfection personified. One who is...eternal. Lucius the Eternal. A video on him would be really awesome.

Great video, man! Really well done- this was a total pleasure to watch and listen to. And I totally agree with you- the Horus Heresy novels are made so much richer by having such good ‘secondary’ characters. While it’s awesome to read the words spoken by Sanguinius, Horus, and Russ, it’s always more impressive to see them as their sons see them, and experience the story through their eyes. Even though the Marines are genetically augmented and enhanced super soldiers, they are much more relatable than the demigods who are the Primarchs, so seeing them through the eyes of their sons is easier to connect to. I hesitate to call them ‘secondary’ characters, because they’re the guys who we spend the most time with in the books- and they go on their own adventures and story arcs, but ultimately, the story is the story of the Primarchs. I think it was clever of the writers to write it that way, because it’s much easier to relate to the Marines than it is the Primarchs (unless you’ve got a superiority complex!). Anyway- I really enjoyed this one- I haven’t yet read “Betrayer”, as it’s just never in stock at the GW I go to or the Barnes and Noble. I know I can order it online, but I’m an instant gratification kind of person, and I already have to wait for models to ship every month (because I buy almost exclusively from Forge World)- so yeah, that’s one book I’ve been dying to read - I really don’t know too much about Khârn, and I really enjoy the Traitor, Non-Primarch characters like Sevatar, Argel Tal, etc. , so keep on making these videos! It’s much appreciated. Oh yeah- did you say that your new Marine Chapter was “Knights of the Chalice”? I couldn’t remember which you were switching to- I hope you’re doing well, and I’ll talk to you soon!
OH MAN!!! you haven't read it? I'll tell you what, I'll go to my resident GW and see if they have it in stock. If they do, I'll buy it and send it to you as an early Christmas present. It's probably single-most favorite book (on its own at least - i LOVE the night lords trilogy).
I AM! I really enjoy their color scheme a lot more, and also i find it far easier to paint than the white just because i don't have to do so many layers. It's just black, highlight, edge, done!

ItalianSpartacus Dude- that’s so incredibly kind and generous of you! That would be awesome- if you don’t find it though, it’s totally cool- just the thought is super nice of you. I’ve heard a LOT of people rave about that book, and I’m really dying to read it- I’ve heard great things about the Night Lords trilogy, too- THAT one they have at my local GDubs, so if you’re recommending that one too, I’ll pick it up this month. I have a lot of the Horus Heresy novels- #1-9, 14, 28, 29, 33, &40-46- so obviously I’m missing a lot of the great ones. I usually buy one or two of the novels at the beginning of each month, and by the 8th or so, I have to reread stuff (I read a lot- at least a few hours a day). But I haven’t yet branched our past the Heresy into 40K books- I’ve heard good things about the Talon of Horus trilogy and the Ahriman one, too- have you read either of those? (I trust your opinion on that stuff- you seem to like the same shit I do!) To answer your question, my Raven Guard are coming along really well- The only stuff I really need are a flyer or two and a large tank- I’d really like to add another 5-man veteran squad, 10 more tactical Marines, another 5 Mor Deythan, and 5-15 more Dark Furies. That’s a lot of $$, though, seeing as everything but the tactical and veteran Marines are from Forge World. I mean, I could totally play games with the force I’ve got, but of course I want more! The Storm Eagle flyer and the Spartan assault tank are each around $170 ( ! ), and the Mor Deythan/ Dark Fury kits are 5 models at $66 a pop- crazy expensive. The only saving grace there is the tactical/ veteran Marines are available (mail order only- they don’t carry them in-store anymore) in 10-man squads (MkIII and MkIV armour) in GW plastic for $50. That’s a lot more doable than $66 for 5! Of course, if you want to give them cool weapons (I like to give my guys Volkite calivers and chargers wherever possible), you have to buy them all from FW- upgraded torsos, heads, and Legion-specific pauldrons are all bought separately too. Though I do get a lot of use out of the FW transfers sheet- I’m on my 2nd one already. But shit, even one of those is over 30 bucks now! It’s crazy- but, that’s where I’m at with my army (aren’t you glad you asked🤣- you got an essay for an answer!). In all seriousness, I plan on working on them until I have double what I’ve got now, which is probably 5-6000 points. I’m thinking of starting another army just so I can do something different for a while- but I’m going to keep on adding to my Raven Guard, as a background and not my major focus. I still have to get Corax- I was saving him for last, but I should probably get him before he gets even more expensive- in just the past 3 or so years, I’ve seen him go from $98 to $109 to $115- kinda ridiculous if you ask me! I just have to decide now who my next will be- I’m leaning towards the Word Bearers, the Mechanicum, or the Night Lords. Though the Sons of Horus has some incredible models. Damn- have I twisted your ear enough yet? Hahaha- thanks again for the great video, and for thinking of me about the “Betrayer” book! Ok. So you’re telling me in this universe, there are 3 entities known as Khane, Khorne AND kharn
So just reading a bit of lore and remembering the Kharn book I read, so In the book after kharn fought through an entire imperial army for two days non stop and had multiple deep wounds and after slaying the OP imperial saint that lead said army and another champion of Khorne back to back Abaddon immediately shows up rested and in full terminator to challenge kharn so he joins the newest black crusade. Not only does Kharn hold his own and wound The war master but it's strongly implied he would win until a bloodthirster appears to stop kharn and tell him due to Abby's huge plot armor Khorne wants him to play nice and serve Abby. Now backtrack a few years to Saint Celestine (who is an absolute beast btw new respect for her) and her fight against kharn that ends with her skull on his belt. Then jump to the fall of Cadia where Celestine and Abby duel and not only does she hold him off but they both wound each other pretty severe and she only needs to break off the fight to save Archmagos Cawl. Thus to to transitive properties we can safely assume Kharn can rip Abby to shreds even with Abby's Terminator armor, demon sword and blessing and kharns regular armor with one arm naked handicap because he beat Celestine who Abby couldn't and fought Abby to a stand still even gaining the advantage!! The war master is dead! Long love the new waster Kharn the better!!!

Aaron Demski-Bowden is the best Black Library author. In fact, some may call him the GOAT. And Andrew Keeble is an amazing narrator.
michael howell guy Haley is a close second. Love ADB. I was introduced to 40k through the Helsreach movie then I read Cadian blood as the first book and was hooked. ADB does a great job of bringing out characters (even secondary ones) and their personalities into the whole grim darkness of the 40k universe.

This is something I can't grasp; Khorne favors Kharn over Primarch Angron, Burgle favors Typhus over Primarch Mortarion, Tzeentch favorels Ahriman, maybe not more that Magnus, and I don't know much about Lucius dynamic between Slanaash and Fulgrim.

This was great! I've read about 50 HH books. Other then that, I've only read Hellsreach and The Beast series. Can you guys recommend some good 40k, non HH books?
The Night Lords trilogy by Aaron Dembski-Bowden is incredible.. I am really enjoying the Primarch series of books which is essentially an extension of the HH. The Grey Knights series is awesome.. hmmm... People LOVE Eisenhorn and Gaunt's Ghosts, but I personally haven't read them!

I need to read the grey knights stuff for sure! I've read the HH era books involving them though. I bet the night lord books are good. I like the ones set in 30k.

I know the Emperor isn’t known for always making the BEST choices, but why couldn’t he just have had the war hounds descend down onto the planet and help Angron with the revolt instead of removing him from it, this surely would have had Angron take on some different attitudes of the emperor and his place in the great crusade
Hey, Italian Spartacus, some other 40k lore people whom I like have commented that Demoski-Bowden is really good at writing chaos, but he tends to make Big E look stupid in lore unrealistic ways. What do you think.
i think reading his AMAs on the subject are really good at helping to understanding his reasoning. i think ADB had a REALLY tough job in depicting a character that has had virtually zero voice throughout the 20+ years of the hobby and also probably the most enigmatic character in the setting. honestly, i loved Master of Mankind. I don't think I loved it BECAUSE of Emps, but I don't think that the Emperor detracted from it.
It's one of those things where he's basically the first real shot at the Emperor as a prolonged character in a book. If he is the type of being that he is supposed to be, I'd expect him to be somewhat aloof, or at least removed from the machinations of mortals. I didn't really like that we didn't get much interaction between Emps and the Primarchs, that would have helped color his personality I feel. For the most part, we got Custodes as the only real people to even touch in on him, and also whats his nuts when he talks about dissecting Angron.
I'm heavily biased though and believe ADB can do no wrong, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. and yes, I DEFINITELY feel like he NAILS Chaos dead-fucking-on

I love how the functioning of the butchers nails is explained, they cause an absolute state of depression and ataraxia, most angry people are simply sad and lash out in an effort to connect and feel something, to soothe their self hatred and impotence, and that's what the nails did to angron and his astartes, they poisoned them with unbearable sadness, sadness turned into hatred, and hatred turned into an all consuming rage, but in essence for me khorne is the god of sadness not the god of war and rage, because war is sadness taken to its extreme logical conclusion, what is violence if not the last resort of an impotent, sad, broken and choleric being?
