What if you found yourself trapped in a shipwreck, and stalked by a cryptid?
Siren Rex Maria is an immersive game balanced between Horror and Exploration.
It takes place in the wreck of a cruise ship from the 40's. Your goal as a diver is to discover the mysterious cause of the sinking. But like everyone before you, you weren't ready to face what's inside... Who's inside? What's inside? What's real?
You'll have to search for clues, hide and explore breathtaking environments while you're slowly sinking into the depths of your own consciousness.

Fun fact: anechoic chambers are designed to completely absorb sound or electromagnetic waves. They're so quiet most people start to feel ill at ease in them before long, as the brain notices the lack of the usual background noise layer.

Love the "Show, Don't Tell" used in this game. There's an anechoic chamber and we're just left to piece together its purpose. The last confusing room as well. They don't just have a note explicitly stating the siren's powers. Loved this one!

The Siren was being kept in the anechoic room which protected humans from its noise. Once released everyone went mad and/or was attacked by the Siren.
This game is on my radar including Intruders, they are both pretty interesting and well done. So the army caught the Siren and transported it onto the ship, where it eventually broke free and killed the entire crew. It's also possible that the siren has telepathic powers that can drive people crazy, hence the MC seeing things and may have resulted in those crew suicides, better to die then be killed by the siren perhaps? Also, there seems to be multiple factions from different countries attempting to investigate or retrieve the siren over the 80 years since the ship sunk, but all failed due to their teams getting wiped out by the creature. One of the factions is named "Research and Neutralize" which seems to be a play on SCP.
During Halloween, I shall wear a T-shirt with CJU's infamous quotes "Can I leave?" and "Ahh Fully Functional Toilets!"
Another good one would be "left is always right"
I'd like to see this turn into a 6-10 hour game. It's got its own style, good graphics, interesting lore, mysterious creatures and horror. What's not to like?
Space and ocean depths horror games make me anxious on a whole new level

Am I the only one that felt a bit claustrophobic when he tried to swim up but it was blocked😭

This had some Subnautica vibes to it. Pretty cool game. I'd like to have seen more of the "siren" than just the nanoseconds of a shadow, and the glowing eyes in the distance at the end. Definitely has a something of a demo feel to it too. I do hope they expand on this. I love underwater games. I was a little disappointed you didn't find the bathrooms though... Lol! Thanks, Chris!
I love sea monster horror games they just add a whole other level of horror; that being in a sunken wreck and the fact sea creatures are terrifying, add the unknown origins of the siren and you’ve got an awesome game, hope it gets a longer release ^^
Plus I’m glad people acknowledge that sirens are either bird like or sea creatures ^^
A fantastic looking game and would love to see it more flushed out. There is just so much potential with horror games where you are diving. It's a completely different environment where you are vulnerable. In my opinion there has to be some form of vulnerable feeling to build up a sense of fear and dread. You have that and just a lot of material to work with from old sea legends. So I do think there should be more horror games where you are diving. This one is a fine addition but just yeah would like to see it flushed out even more.
Oh this is delicious! It looks like a demo more than a full game, this could be expanded so well! Such a quality project! So it looks like a British SCP-like secret service brought this creature onto the vessel, then it got out and sabotaged it. Or maybe manipulated crew into doing so. Since then the service and others interested in the creature and wreck have met the same fate. I'm guessing that trippy room and the last bit are a hallucination brought on by the creature, maybe to lead the character to a bad place. They could go full "scientific" here, or then include ghosts or time-traveling/past-observing superpowers, who knows. I want to see so much more of this!
Yeah, I remember seeing this thing about the world's quietest room and the pattern on the wall in the Anechoic room matched so I guess the Siren is manipulating people with it's voice, just like in Greek Myth.
Definitely need to play the full game and same with the home invasion game you played last, I really enjoyed them thanks for playing them x
The game was just amazing, super Bioshock nostalgic and very unique too.

Guess this means that the character has slowly descended into madness. This has been interesting so far, and I'm much curious how they'll execute the rest of this game 'til the end. Looking forward to your playing this when the full version's out.
Im trying to see the oxygen levels throughout the game (to see if the dude is hallucinating his oxygen levels left, because his face mask slowly gets more cracked throughout the game) but no one looks at it enough X_X and fucking mac cant play anything so I cant see for myself, hell roblox lags on mac computers on full graphics
One of the ambient songs in the background sounds like The Poignant by Kammarheit around 3:44. It's nice to see his music being used in horror games. Seems like an interesting game. There doesn't seem to be a lot of underwater-themed horror games. I really enjoy your videos btw!

Dude I was IN TO THIS STORY! WHen you went into that padded type room (It looked like psychic/energy dampeners to me), as an Lovecraft fanatic, the first thing I said was "This is what happens when you play with wormholes to different Universes/Galaxies/Dimensions/Planes of Existence!..."
Lol we don't have the tech levels required to contain Cosmic Horror Abominations. Knowing humans they would probably try to put them into a Zoo. .

Always strange to hear your language in a video game when you're on the English side of TH-cam haha. Nice game, I always like the ones taking place underwater, it makes it extra spooky. I enjoyed seeing the different corpses, it really looked like people trying to escape by any means necessary, like them trying to escape through the vents or killing themselves. Voice acting was pretty good as well ! Thank you for showing us another cool game Chris ❤️❤️

I HATE THE ENDING!!! I know it's supposed to be an ambiguous ending. But there's a difference between ambiguous ending and a game that ends so abruptly it feels like the creators just got tired of making it and gave up and said good enough and published the game. LOVED the concept the graphics were beautiful there was so so much potential but the ending ruined the whole thing for me. Very disappointed.
As someone from the same school from the siren's team.. we all worked on different project for 9 months and had to make a somewhat 30 minutes game as our final graduation project. The ending isn't lazy, but 7 student can only produce so much in this time frame and they did amazing. The game isn't finished and isn't supposed to BE finished, this is like a first take that we try to sell to investor so we can get paid to actually make a full game

Nah, it's good for the highlights, but I reckon it would be a bit distracting for whole video.
He actually used to do that, but it kinda ruined the immersion. So, trust me, it's better that he does the facecam highlights at the end.
@@shadowjudge921 Since a lot of people on here seem to not want a face cam throughout, I wonder why the biggest channels like Markiplier and PewDiePie do have face cams during their entire videos. It would make one think the average person that watches Let's Players actually does prefer the face cam on the entire time even if it ruins the immersion. I also hate how Markiplier and other large channels make the focus on them 90% of the video and on the game only 10% of the video. It's really annoying.
