Samora Machel. we the people of Zimbabwe will never ever forget you. You said the liberation of Mozambiqoe was not complete without the independence of Zimbabwe. You gave us sanctuary in your country. Your people also shed their blood for us to get back our diginity and humanity which was shamelessly stolen from our ancestors by the evil settlers and colonists. Thank you.

I was born in 1983, both my parents were military working directly with Samora Machel. I am surprised about how quickly Samora’s ideals were erased from public life. Samora was turned into a mythical figure, such that one feels it is impossible to have a state run on Samora’s ideals. Today we are even more alienated from Samora’s ideals. This sucks 🤦🏿‍♂️

There is enough evidence to prove that his plane was shot down. In fact, they had radar that interfered with the equipment onboard his Russian plane, that messed with the navigation and had the pilots fly into SA. Then they shot down the plane and ensured he was dead. A very sad day for Africa. I was only 14 years old but the day of his death still rings strong for me because he was part of the front line states leaders and was actually flying out of Mbala in Zambia on that fateful day. :'(

Well, he got assassinated. And don't come here talking about democracy, because if it really mattered why was the first democratically elected prime minister of congo, Patrice Lamumba assassinated after he asked for economic independence from the west? And since the west have so much experience in assassinating foreign leaders, why havent they assassinated the corrupt Joseph Kabila who sit at his mansion while his people, in the richest country in the world, are one of the most hungry in the world and starving to death? They had no problem killing Gaddafi for ''human right violation'', and now the Lybians, who had a high living standard under his regime are suffering.
So G.T.F.O.H with that democracy bullshit, you complain that africans are undemocratic while its your leaders who have paved way for our corrupt leaders so you can benefit from the situation. Or am i wrong and the western leaders really doesn't want these corrupt african leaders without vision and that allow them to leech from the african continent and thus making the west richer?

Baba Machel was about love, honesty and selflessness to the core.

Another BBC correspondent called him a moving theatre because of his highly foolish and theatrical heaviour. Overall, he was murderous.
