You Brad are a true ambassador of bodybuilding and science. Thank you to Fouad for inviting you and asking actual practical questions that not many people ask Brad.
Good remark! It's probably because usually the people running the studies are actual pro scientists who are aware of the limitations of the studies, the conclusions that can be drawn, the extension to various populations etc. while the readers are generally people who think they got it all because they understood the abstract and forget that being intelligent is not enough when you are not trained in the field...
It's all about keeping tax payers AKA people subjected to the protection racket. As weak minded and willed as possible. Can't have people being free when slavery is so profitable ;-)
I believe the key to preventing food allergies is to eat varied sources of protein and carbohydrates. In other words, not chicken, rice and broccoli 5 times are day.
@@FouadAbiad hi Foss. Just wondering in terms of type 1 and 2 muscle fibres..if we go to failure on say 8-10 reps and exhaust our type 2 muscle fibres but then we do a drop set which is adding reps the the set, does that mean that type 1 muscle fibres are also being maximized and fatigued? Which could maybe result in them both growing without having to do days of just high and low reps?
10 minutes in, I enjoy how this guy isn’t just fighting everything that’s not proven by the actual science. He looks at both sides of the argument and what he says makes sense. Thank you fouad. Great info!
The amount of information in each interview is incredible. Every day is a new day to learn. Thank you Fouad for your willingness to help us to take the path of bodybuilding. Big greetings from Argentina
Beside the show with Layne ,this was THE MOST interesting and informative podcast .Fouad is so open and humble, respectful towards people with real knowledge ,his questions are perfect and always spot on ,100% quality show, right here again!King of the bodybuilding po dcast world forever
Basically, set up 5-6 week blocks of training. Hit each body part twice every 7-9 days. Split your 7-9 day volume per body part across each workout. Increase volume throughout training block by adding 2 sets to each body part per 7-9 days. Go all out closer to failure less reps in reserve and more intensity techniques week 5 then deload week 6. Start new training block and repeat.
Great show. Please don't get away from this mix of funny shows and informative shows. When we need to inform and be serious, be it. Same goes for whenever it needs to be fun and light hearted.
Straight to the top of the list as the best balanced informative podcast I have watched or listened to. There is so much in here and brilliantly articulated. Gold
This was an amazing podcast. Thank you so much for bringing knowledgeable people like Brad. But if there’s a guy that perfectly bridges the gap between being a science guy and a bro science guy it’s Scott Stevenson. It would be awesome to see him on here. That man can recall any study ever lol.
Would’ve really liked for you to introduce your guest and give a bit of background on what they’re about, where to find them and their work etc. Just a tip for future interviews. Love the podcast and dipping into the more intellectual side! Brad is definitely a wealth of knowledge, can’t wait to finish this 😁
I know you mean and it’s a fair comment but I actually quite liked how he just ripped into it without mucking around like other channels do. In some respects Brad is so well knows he needs no introduction. They did a bit of a chat at the end. But you make a fair point for sure. Some people may not know Brad. Great podcast nonetheless.
By far the best bodybuilding podcast out there at the moment, no wasting time introducing the guests and since Faoud is a top bodybuilder, he asks the questions we all want to know the answers to
Ive learned more since finding your pod casts that last 4 months, than I have in the 20 previous years of training and lifting. Thank you so much, just wish this was a round 20 years ago.
With all of the pendulum swings from bro-science to science & back, as well as just about everyone having an opinion as to what is correct in their minds, having intelligent people on who have the capacity to explain the differences/similarities is extremely helpful. Thank you for these & I hope there can be more coming down the pipe.
This is easily my new favourite TH-cam channel. Your humility and humour is incredible - very engaging and informative questions and answers. Grateful for the content, thank you
One of the most informative ones yet. I love the bro chats and all those, but I really enjoy ones like this where I feel I learn a lot. Thank you both for your time!
This is one of my favorite episodes of any podcast you've done. Ben is super fucking smart and I feel like I can listen to him all day. Can't wait for the next one!
Excellent questions and structure of responses! I appreciate the time efficiency in this podcast and no banter or sarcasm because it makes learning really confusing - clarifying terms is so important.
I would love to see a science guy like Brad and a Pro coach like John meadows or Chad nichos to go over these topics. The science guys have the data but the pro coaches will have the experience and real world use of things like protein usages. Your channel is amazing and I believe your the only channel that can make this happen. Thank you 🙏🏽
The problem with getting answers for many elite bodybuilders such as Foad is that they are at one end of a bell curve with regards to exercise response and muscular potential (not to discount their hard work) compared to the average. The best data from the research these guys are doing is probably brought from comparison of averages rather than either end of the spectrum. This was a great discussion guys, thank you!
It's very cool seeing someone like Brad being in your podcast, he's one of or the guy to talk about exercise, research in this field, or even bs's in the industry. Would love to see Dr.Mike Israetel on this show also, highly highly recommend to check him out on his stuff related training, nutrition he's one of the best in the field!
Hi Fouad, I wrote on another video you may had missed it, but how about getting Kevin Horton( photographer) on your podcast, so many conversations are about the 90s bodybuilders and today's bodybuilders, someone like Kevin would have some great input, plus I know him from back in the day, he would have some great stories as well as his chatty guy. As always your podcasts are great, who needs music in the car when you can listen to one of your podcasts.
Those podcasts with guys of science (Layne, Brad), science based trainers (Tour) are such a pearls and knowledge wells! Much appreciated. Again confirmed how important "link" in industry is John - bridge between BBers and bro science and more science evidence based approach. It would be interesting to see some day Mike Israetel but as much as his extremely well knowledgeable, he also seems to be like "there is only my good way, fuck off". His debate with Doucette showed him in this way.
I love the episodes with science related topics. Do you remember the episode with Dr. Dean? I am taking his recommended vitamins for 2 months now for better sleep through. I am having the best sleep since I can remember my whole life. Thanks Fouad!
Hi fouaid. Can you get milos on. His seminars back in the day he says fasted morning cardio is best cuz you burn triglycerides and not muscle when is slow paced.
His opinion would be evidence based so find that out. Then use your own personal experience to figure it out yourself. You're not going to find personal answers tailored to you. Look for it
FOud out here taking his bodybuilding principles and applying them to the podcast game, every time you ask what could he and the team do next to keep things quality he hits you with one of these. We're witnessing the birth of a new bodybuilding behemouth...
Great podcast. Loved hearing what Brad had to say. I do wish however that he explained mechanical tension and metabolic stress not in terms of "metabolites," "cascades," etc. but instead in a way that us meatheads can understand, e.g. train to/close to failure and chase a juicy pump. I think viewers would be able to takeaway more from this episode if these explanations were shorter and simpler
Good interview. Unfortunately a lot of styles and techniques that all may work but what is really better. It would be interesting to bring John on with Brad as well and discuss the same topics. Maybe a little debating and sharing experiences.
Fouad you are doing such great things for the bodybuilding world, bit also the fitness industry as a whole! Could you get Kassem Hanson on? I think he has a lot to teach that the bodybuilding community can learn from. I believe steve kuclo has trained with him. Maybe get them on together
Superb chat Dr Brad n Fouad mate !! Loved the part about the need to have a synergy between a LabRat & a MeatHead !! I need to get meself a labcoat _ but where do I find one that fits my 305 lbs monsta off season frame ..Lol
I think the biggest problem with the higher rep ranges is past 15,20 reps it’s hard to actually push yourself to or atleast the near actual failure point of the muscle, both because of cardiovascular toll and pain level
Now that was an interesting podcast to watch! Thanks Fouad. For next time.. Can you ask him this question please? How important is massage after a workout? Does it help in recovery? Does it hinder in the growth of the muscle? Would bodybuilders benefit if they had massages more often?
Thanks for having me on Fouad. You are a true pro!
Thanks for taking the time! I have more questions, we should do it again some time!

Its funny that the people that run the studies are more open minded about the results than the people that read the studies.
A lot of people just use studies to back their preconceived notions
People tend to be very religious and dogmatic about science, styles of training, etc.

Preach! 👏
It’s really cool to see Fouad, an absolute veteran, still humbly ask the doc many questions. Crazy to think how much we don’t know
Some I knew and ask for the people watching and some I had no clue about lol.
