Man you have a gift for interviewing. I’m in agreement with Ian Vailliere that you should do the commentating for the O or have some role in it (like speaking to competitors post show or something). You’re a great active listener and communicate extremely well with the people you bring on. All the best to you Fouad

@@phatbastard2026 Bulking doesn't mean you have to go over 17% body fat. People will make the fastest progress alternating between lean mass gaining and fat loss phases (e.g. 8% and then bulk up to 12-15%, then cut back down, repeat). Unless someone is a newb, coming back from a layoff, or on PED's, staying the same bodyweight will usually just result in little to no progress.

@@phatbastard2026 In order to grow u need to get to higher bodyweight so your body can adapt to being bigger. It needs a push. It doesn't want to grow muscle. The goal is to gain but not become a fat mess. I sit at 262. My life went to shit when I was 230lbs. I gained weight and I got kinda fat up to 270lbs but cut fat and I now have a better look at a higher weight than I did. My body wants to stay there because I made it adjust. Do you know how long it would take to gain 40lbs if it was lean mass???

I have always know of Layne Norton but never took the time to really listen to his ideals on diet and training. I am always looking for new ways to diet and learn my body so I am trying his app for the next 3 months. I have a show coming up in 5 months so I want to use his app to lose a fair amount of body weight and fat. I really can't afford a coach during these times so this sounds like the next best thing. Curious to see where it will take me...
Fouad....Thank you again for a wonderful podcast. One thing I love about your podcast is that your open to listening to various ideals in health and fitness. Not just bodybuilding. To the folks who are trying to build muscle&burn fat in the same time, please stop. I've been trying to do this for years in the past with little progress or none at all. Bulk up(below 15-18% BF), once you get past 15-18% BF cut down or just go back to maintenance for some time. Also, do cardio even when bulking. If you are natural like me, or using PED's, doesnt matter, bulk up and then cut down. Stay below 18%BF. Do cardio even when bulking(2-3 times a week, steady state), eat clean, take your supplements and lift heavy. Consistency and patience. AND. GENETICS PLAY A BIG ROLE. Dont give yourself expectentions you cant achieve. Look at yourself and stop looking around at others. Take what you have and make it better.

I started off obese at 243 pounds bf% unknown but would guess very high, waist measurement was 40",no muscle, no lifting at all eat junk and drank loads of alcohol. Did a PSMF diet down to 190 pounds in 12 weeks while starting lifting. Been lifting and paying attention to what I eat for 6-7 years and my new settling point is around 200-210 pounds with some muscles, bf% now maybe around 20% waist measurement is 34"

Meadows did a video yesterday saying people grow best at 8-12%. Justin recommends 12%. Aceto says 10%. Like everything else there is a large genetic component. Dante has a thread over at Professional Muscle called "I love this stuff! Absolutely love it!" and talks about how Kevin Jordan made big jumps in stage weight getting pretty fluffy. BUT...Kevin Jordan had the genetics and gear to get a great muscle return from that. I think the approach one takes will depend on how their own individual body will handle it. I side with John, Justin, and Chris because the other way did not result in a favorable muscle return. However, someone else can absolutely benefit from doing it the other way and if they can, they should.

The science of fat loss and why humans are fat has changed over the past years. There is a history of the plant based diet, carbs and the history of the government dietary guidelines AKA the food pyramid. The history of the low fat high carb diet, and when people started to gain fat, should not be ignored.
Eat less and exercise more in my opinion has nothing to do with nutrition, and I call the starvation diet. When I have done this, and I have had years of experience doing it, eat less and exercise more, my body lost fat and muscle. Then because of the lack of nutrition because I cut calories, I would binge eat. Vince Gironda in my op[inion was right when he wrote in his book, "Unleashing The Wild Physique", That fat will only be burned as fuel in the absence of carbohydrates.

So for those of Us Like Found! Where a "Week Off" means Bulldozer Eating! Then Why NOT???
2 "Days" ON with 1 "Day" OFF? A 2/3rds approach? Instead of even A John Meadow's 9/10 method?

Everybody look trying to look good for social media. And they don't want to gain any weight to gain some muscle. Well there's an easy fix for that do what Mike O'Hearn does. He just uses old pictures so whenever anybody's in shape go ahead and take about 200 pictures then you'll have enough and you'll be able to post good pictures consistently while you're gaining weight and bulking

Hahaha I love bodybuilding but bodybuilders are nuts sometimes 😂
“I used to purposely make my food taste shittier so it would take longer to eat.”
    “I used chopsticks a lot”
“Oooh that’s a good idea. Rice would take a long time”
