    Hey Jeremy - Tom from Nexbelt. This was a fun and entertaining video. Just wanted to point out a couple of items that were not addressed. The biggest thing is we use stainless steel screws for the construction of our buckles. If reliability is important to you then this is crucial. We're the only one that's doing that. All other companies use pins and pins have a great chance of backing out. We know this because we've been in business longer than Kore and most ratchet companies out there. (A lot of our designs have been copied out there). Nothings worse than being compromised because of a buckle failure. Regarding the buckle mechanism, Kore sent you an older design. The magnet system is still strong like you showed, but we've started introducing a new patent pending mechanism of what we call a hybrid which marries the technology of both - the reliability of a magnet and the feel of a spring. We appreciate the compliment of the buckle design. Too many times I've seen people wear a gun belt and I think - he's carrying. We try to design our buckles to blend in to keep the element of surprise on the side of the customer. We have a few friends who are police officers and design a lot of our EDC belts keeping them in mind when they're off duty. On stiffness , our belts easily carry extra weights besides the firearms and extra magazines. We have people in security that wrote us that they also carry walkie talkies and flashlights and even batons. We don't want to make the stiffest belt out there. We've played with it and nothing's worse than having to alter your seating position so the belt doesn't dig into your back. The biggest compliment from our customers is that it's the most comfortable belt they've worn. Looking forward to more videos from you. Keep it fun like this you'll get a lot of subscribers.

      @@nickstone3978 Hi Nick - If you have one of our new belts, it would have a hybrid of a magnet and spring system. If the magnet broke, it would still work because the spring would still work. And vice versa. We've had this design out for over a year. We would be interested in seeing this and sending you a replacement. Contact warranty@nexbelt.com so Nate can help you.

    These Kore belts are very impressive. I’ve been a firearms instructor for over 35 years. I test/try new gear all the time ( monthly - on my own dime, so never a conflict of interest), so I can give students actual opinions. I was a double thickness leather belt guy.
    One month, I decided to order a Kore belt, expecting an okay belt. Ran it through the ringer and I was much more than impressed.
    I wear one everyday. I ended up buying two more. A gray tac belt for day to day jean wearing, a black tac belt (test belt) for BDUs/5.11s and a leather belt for dress pants. Even the thinner leather one, because it has a core, is sturdy and the gun stays put without sagging.

    Jeremy thanks for the accurate and informative comparison video. Kore is the originator of the ratcheting gun belt and is the leader in this space for quality, comfort, adjustability and variety. All our belts feature our proprietary Power-Core center. It's almost twice as stiff and supportive as any other Ratcheting Gun Belt and we've never seen even one break. In addition to EDC (1.5") belts we make ratcheting range belts 1.75", ratcheting molle battle belts (1.75") and coming Fall 2023 ratcheting duty belts for LEO's (2.25"). We rule this space. Thanks again for your time and the in-depth review.

      KORE BRAND
      KORE belts are what I would describe as almost ridiculously expensive, particularly for a disabled 64 year old man on a fixed income. But, Jeremy made a believer out of me (I’m currently a Blue Alpha user). What an excellent video. I would ask him to do a “how to video” for your website’s. And, when I’m able to scratch the money together, after meds etcetera, I’m going to add a KORE belt to my every day carry. All my best.

      Kore belts last....my Old Basket Weave is still going strong, and comfortable too. It's not about buying thick double leather anymore that digs and feels like a hola hoop on your waist. A Kore has that internal core that keeps everything from sagging but is comfortable as a 3/16" leather belt. That click is a sound of the buckle...when she's latched she doesn't move. Plus it's nice when going out to dinner and I eat a bit to much...a slight squeeze of the adjustment and your good to go.
      Sure.....I've bought the Hanks, Bulls, Galico., and a few others (most given as presents from wife and the boys). JUST SPEND THE MONEY...BUY ONCE..CRY ONCE...AND ENJOY FOR LIFE !!!

      KORE developed the FIRST Reinforced Ratcheting Track Belt designed to support a firearm. As proof we have 2 U.S. utility Patents to back up our claim. That's why Kore belts are far more supportive, use the superior spring system and we offer 1.5" & 1.75" wide ratchet gun belts. Nexbelt is a copycat.

After a call and sending an email with pictures showing what was happening to my belt. Kore Brand sent me a replacement that has lasted. I was so glad that Kore Brand fixed my issue with the leather peeling from the belt I bought the nylon webbing belt which has been holding up for 18 months now of daily use.

    Kore... The first gen had problems with the buckle mount. It would pull off the end of the belt. Called Kore and they sent me the 2.0 buckle and a new belt, no questions asked and no charges. The new buckle is bomb proof. Best belt. I carry a G19 OWB whenever I wear pant, and love it. If I want max conceal, I tighten the belt to max to hold the gun tight to my body. If I'm running n gunin' or range shooting, I back it off a click or two, which makes the grip a touch more accessible and can make a big difference in speed to draw and contact. If I'm sitting on the couch, I can back it off even more for even more comfort. Great belt...

    I use my Kore leather gun belt with that X1 buckle for detective
    wear. I carry a pistol, extra mag, and cuffs and it holds up the weight very
    well. The belt is very comfortable, and the easy adjustment is a great feature.

I can however tell you I have been wearing a nexbelt for over a year daily and I'm very satisfied as it has been very sturdy, it has not frayed or lost any firmness and as far as the buckle magnet, I have not had any issues with it to date.

    Wore a Nexbelt for a year and loved the ratchet system. Then heard about Kore and got one to see the difference. Long story short my Kore Essentials belt is wayyy better quality. The belt buckle, the thickness, and quality are far superior to any other ratchet type belts out there. Pun intended.

  • @infomwr
    @infomwr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I have several of all four belts and each has it’s pros and cons. The 5.11 belt is cheap and works ok, but it’s not in the same league as the other three. It is TSA compliant, and it is stiff, but that’s about it. It’s just a simple pass through buckle, and not as nice as the other three. The Nexbelt is stiff enough to be a gun belt, and adjusts easily like a ratchet buckle should, but I had one of my belt buckles break when I bent over and the ratchet failed. Also, on another Nexbelt, the belt itself tore right out of the buckle because of a very shallow cam not getting a good bite on the belt. The Kore is great. It’s thick and holds a gun and magazines nicely. The buckle so far has not failed on me. My biggest complaint is that the belt tail tends to stand straight out and won’t lay down, like a bad cowlick. You can use a Velcro band to keep the tail tamed, but Kore should just fix the issue. Nexbelt doesn’t do this. I suggest Kore heat the belt and mold it so the tail curls inward. I did that to mine with a heat gun. Lastly, the Klikbelt is the nicest of the bunch, and I like the style and function. The only downside is that it’s not quite as easy to thread on holsters and such due to the design of the cobra buckle, but overall, I really like it, and probably wear my Klikbelt the most out of all four belts. Finally, I recently bought two of the TSA compliant Klikbelts, so now I can travel without ever taking off my belt.

    When I was looking for a good gun belt, I looked at both Kore and Nexbelt. They both seem like good choices. But since I use Vedder holsters, I went with their Cobra Quick Release gun belt. It’s a great belt too. But a big reason I chose it was not only is it a really nice, sturdy belt, but it’s made here in the U.S.A. Stitched in their Mount Dora Florida facility from U.S.A. sourced materials. I just refuse to buy anything made in China if I can absolutely help it and have other choices. That may not mean anything to some people. But it!s a big deal to me. So, if you haven’t yet, check out the Vedder gun belts.

    I've had most of these except the Klik belt. The Kore is a nice belt but the end will pull out in time. Looks like the newer ones have more of an area to bite into than mine as I've had to recut my belt at the buckle end probably 5 times over the past 2 years. Anymore and it won't fit me. I've had two of the 5.11 belts. One was like this one and it is a tad flimsy but having no metal, it is great for working in prisons where you have to go through metal detectors many times a shift. I also have their stronger one with metal buckle where the end loops through and then Velcros back along the belt and that thing is a beast. I will have to try the Klik one. Looks functional. The worst part about the stiff belts is why oh why do they not round off the end. You all know how much of a pain it is getting these square ends through belt loops. Thanks for sharing. Great video.

    Good video. Been using one nex belt for 2 years and it has held up. I use it for everything. Work, inside the wasteband , outside the wasteband. No issue except fraying. When that happens, I melt the frayed edges. That is ok, but seems to almost turn it into a saw for my pant belt loops. The little pcs of melted nylon act like saw teeth. Other than that, it is a great belt. In the last couple weeks I switched to Kore and Love them so far. Seems like better construction and the buckles seem heavier duty. The big thing with the magnet on the nex belt is that will not wear out as the spring on the Kore will eventually wear out. So, that part is better. Other than that, the Kore seems better in every way.

    My Kore Essentials initial quality surpasses my Nexbelt EDC, which prior was my go to. The Kore buckle seems more robust in build, and their belt even though it's thicker and stiffer, feels more comfortable. The belt’s tacky inner liner keeps accessories carried in place. Hopefully the Kore will hold up better than my Nexbelt did, but only time will tell.

    Excellent reviews & comparison video. Thank you for doing this. I’ve been on the fence line between the Kore Essentials zip-style belts & the Vedder Cobra belt with the smaller female end. • @kinguin7
      @kinguin7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've got the Vedder belt with the Cobra buckle (looks the same as the Blue Alpha btw), it's great except takes a bit more to adjust as you said. Also, while the smaller buckle will slip through jeans belt loops, but not some holster/gear/etc loops, so again you have to mess with the Velcro.
      For a holster with a clip like most iwb styles, works just fine, and being difficult to adjust is sort of a plus as long as you're carrying the same gear every day.

    I currently run an older Kore Essentials leather gun belt and have had very good luck with it. Mine does not have the set screws, but that has never been a problem. What I have noticed, however, is that the inner core material that is sewn inside the leather has obviously cracked in a few places inside the leather itself. Hopefully, if there's a new material used for inner stabilization, it will be more durable than the old material. Do any of you here have concerns about the Kore Essentials belt being produced in China?

    I have the Nextbelt, with a different buckle that has a spring instead of a magnet. It's not as fancy as your buckle but a bit more inconspicuous. I like it a lot, the only minus is that the inside of the belt is starting to wear where the claw of my We The People holster pushes against the buckle (nylon threads are coming off etc.). I wonder if that would happen to the Kore belt as well since the material on the inside seems slightly more durable. I wonder if this is just me or whether it happens to other people as well.

    • @TheWarriorSolution

      The overall consensus for Nexbelts are that they tend to fall apart after about a year or two. I have several Kore belts, both nylon and leather, and they are all still in great shape. All the nylon Kore belts I have are basically like new, other than some minor scratches on the buckles. The leather belt is the oldest, and it shows some wear (you can actually see the belt in this video: th-cam.com/video/mfUS0Qw4L4g/w-d-xo.html ) My biggest problem with Nexbelt is that they are copycats infringing on Kore's patents for the ratcheting belt design. patents.google.com/patent/US20150113770A1/en www.koreessentials.com/pages/patents-trademarks

    I have the 511 belt. I got it just for the plastic buckle. I work on cars and wanted to eliminate the possibility of scratching a car with a metal buckle. After the belt is broken in a little bit I dont think it is stiff enough to carry a full size firearm.

    • @TheWarriorSolution
      @TheWarriorSolution  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Nick,
      One thing you could try would be wearing your belt with the buckle at your side rather than centered in the front. I've done that a few times for appendix carry holsters to make room for them. Another great carry belt option that has a plastic buckle would be the TSA approved belt from Klikbelts. I did a review on it here th-cam.com/video/2m7BRmhJfh8/w-d-xo.html
      The buckle is plastic so it shouldn't scratch the cars, plus the belt is easily strong enough to hold up full-size guns and anything else you'd like to carry on your belt. Here is the Amazon link if you want to check it out: amzn.to/32fD9Xp

      oof... the short version is that Kore is the best, Nexbelt falls apart after about 6 months to a year (and is a blatant ripoff of Kore's patent), Klik Belts are fine if you prefer COBRA buckles, and the 5.11 belt is the last belt I would ever wear if given any other option. It's cheap, the buckle sticks out way too far, and it's a pain to adjust. I would say Kore, Klik, Nexbelt, 5.11, in that order.

  • @seangassin958
    @seangassin958 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fun engineering fact about trakline systems, the magnet doesn't actually keep the belt on you, the constriction and circular shape keep the tab in place once you have adjusted it. The release/magnet only keeps the action smooth when putting it on. In fact, a magnet has better long term potential than a spring so long as you keep it away from 120° or hotter weather.

    • @jamesglenn520
      @jamesglenn520 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I couldn't agree more!!
      The magnet won't fail like the spring.
      And having the release tucked in seems like a better solution.
      The Kore buckle spring is going to fail and the release is hanging out to catch on stuff and loosen or dump your gear!

    Had a Nexbelt for a while un till one day it would not latch. I had to improvise with a small c clamp to get by for the day. Looked pretty stupid but it worked. Somehow a used paper staple fell off my desk and into the buckle magnet hence it did not latch. I can see the magnet being a problem in any shop environment especially grinding steel. I now have a Kore I have used for 3 years. All day long I loosen and tighten it to be comfortable since at age 72 my 6 pack has become a pony keg. The plastic ratchet strip is getting worn out. I will be buying a new one soon so no complaint. I will never wear anything else. So bury me with my Kore belt and boots on.
