Soul Eater as a manga is very hit and miss for me. Though the one place where it truly shined for me was the plotline of Medusa and Crona, as well as Stein and his dabbling in the madness. While the ending seems to throw a lot of stuff at the wall and see what sticks, especially with Crona. Her final interaction with Medusa is one of my favorite chapters in manga period, in terms of story telling. Chapter 87 Is just a simple story about killing a person. When Medusa finally gave Crona the love and affection She was deprived of her entire life. Crona couldn't comprehended and responded in the only way she was taught, killing by stabbing. dichotomized by simple crude stick figures stabbing each other with each piercing of Medusa. With Medusa gladly accepting it, as it was her true intent all along.
Soul Eater is fantastic, both the anime and the manga. The manga more so though. It's nice to see it get some love, because nobody really talks about it anymore.
SOUL EATER IS KING! I still believe a reboot is up in the horizon! It's close! I can feel it! We just have to wait until the Fire Force's anime adaption wraps up the Manga and then the Soul Eater can begin anew! David Production or Studio Bones! I will never understand why they ended Soul Eater in 2009 when it was insanely popular and I know I watched it on online anime sites when it was airing in Japan
I don’t know the production details but if I were to guess they did it either due to the show only being greenlighted to go for so long, or due to the fact that it was rapidly outpacing the manga (weekly anime vs monthly manga). Essentially the plot would of had to split off even further and it would have been pretty far divorced from the source material/author.

You'll find a lot of things Jung described presented in works by people who were never exposed to his writings. But that's kind of the whole thrust of what Jung was saying, you know. Soul eater was my introduction to anime in general. Funnily enough, it was from my sister’s friend, who had a massive crush on Kid. Anyways, I watched the anime when I was in middle school, so around 2013-2016, and fell in love with the music, art style, and especially vibes. I didn’t have a problem with how it went anime wise since that was how I was introduced. Now I’m fully collecting the perfect editions and I’m enjoying it a substantially more than the anime, at least so far. I’m up to the point where Corona and Black Star fight. To me soul eater is this sort of laid back type of anime/manga where I don’t criticize or over analyze every plot point and story telling etc. it was just a really fun watch with all the great characters and all their interactions
There is one scene in soul eater that is permanently engraved in my mind. The scene where Maka and Soul are resonating with electricity going around them In the Resonance opening. I may have to write something about how it makes me feel it inspires me so much.
Last night I finished the anime. I proceeded to read all of the original manga material past the split after the magnetic tornado battle and I finished a couple hours ago. Wow it was just so amazing. I will admit pacing did seem a bit rushed with the Noah arc and he seemed a bit out of place after his arc ended, but in all honesty it’s one of my favorite stories now. Soul Eater anime ending is peak for sure. It hits hard and makes you think. It’s not about power ups and reaching your peak. It’s about finding yourself and being brave even though you’re weak. It taps into what the whole series is about, the soul. “A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body”. Soul becoming a death scythe doesn’t have anything to do with that. It’s just cool. And cool’s great but at some point it’s like, “yeah I get it”.
I never watched much of the anime but I read the whole manga in high school and loved it. I forgot how passionate I was about soul eater until watching this video and reliving the highlights. I disliked Star a lot but I remember actually cheering for him in the rematch fight. I loved Death the Kid and the lore bits about his hair rings. Corona and Ragnorok were definitely my favorite character duo, I just loved their whole everything. Thought Medusa's death was kinda eh. I was so hungry for more that I tried getting into the soul eater spinoff but it just didn't take. I remember spending my birthday money on a pair of Maka's boots off of wish. Still have them. I still can't forget soul eater's take on Excalibur. What a silly little dude.
I love see I even like the anime original ending,I hope we get a reboot of soul eater ,just not with the soul eater not animation that look so cute like ,I hope we get it it with similar animation the 2009 style Ppl are missing the best fight who are anime onlys, black stars fight at the castle , kid fighting Noah, maka and soul upgrade, the moon battle I reread se every few years and still do art for kid and black star ,I need more se Or a new manga with the characters a few years older in they're 20s I think by the mangas end make and other are 13 at the start but were maybe 14-15 by the end I don't care if I'm 50 I hope we get a re boot
Soul Eater is a masterpiece in terms of art. I wish more artists got inspired by it to create their own thing. We look at Soul Eater and the art is ... Soul Eater.
Don't get me wrong, I like Fire Force a lot, but I think Soul Eater cooked more, and I'm only anime for Soul Eater, but I plan to read it all eventually.
The main cast was honestly so much fun to watch. Maka and Soul were pretty amazing. A female main protagonist wasn’t as popular and she makes it work. She’s very smart and capable but she actually has flaws and struggles (something a lot of female characters nowadays lack). So you can see her grow and actually get stronger. Soul’s English voice is deep and confident as opposed to every main protagonist having that soft voice and it caught me off guard. Soul is just so entertaining to watch and he even seems like the main protagonist but isn’t he’s the weapon. Maka and soul fit each other so well and hold each other accountable. There’s also no love interest between the 2 which normally I would’ve liked for the 2 mains to be a couple but here they have such a strong platonic relationship and love for one another that a relationship isn’t even needed
I read it on Mihon and with source of MangaSee. I think they had a good translation overall and even at the end of the volumes explains some jokes that had to be translated, origins of names, etc.
That analogy for Black Star is almost perfect. Black Star is that 7-year-old who says they can do a back flip, tries, and eats dirt, only to get back up, and do the same thing again, and again, and again, and eventually he's done it so many times that ANYONE in his situation would've given up in embarassment and defeat, but he keeps trying, and sticks it, almost perfectly, and you end up not even thinking about it as you applaud him, realizing he's far from perfect, but DEAR GOD does he have tenacity to pull it through. And if anyone just saw the end of it they'd be confused and just be like "okay, he did a flip" but you and anyone who saw the whole thing go; "This kid's gonna go far in life, as long as he keeps that 'heart'."
i looked into asura, because when they show his appearance when he is first ressurected, i thought he kind of looked like death the kid with the black and white hair with a distinctive pattern. sure enough, apparently asura is death's son (which makes all the things death does so much more screwed up LOL), and i dont think that is mentioned ANYWHERE in the anime. im 10 episodes from finishing it, so correct me if im wrong. but my point is that such a big detail like that implies there are a bunch of other changes as well, so i definitely wanna read the manga some day
My favorite part in original endings is then manga using same or close ending but make it 100 times better, manga literally have courage hit but better.
Soul Eater (the anime) was peak the only moment that wasnt that good was SPOILER WARNING Shinigami's death he died protecting another character (i dont remember who it was its been sometime since i watched soul eater) it should be a sad moment but instead he just gotted 1 shotted and his body fell like paper
Very good video, for as good as ohkubo is, he is equally as bad. The peaks of soul eaters characters, with the legendary 2000's manga styles and traits, the sharpness of the art, and swagger. The amazing first arc, then comes the rest of the story, which was a a mediocre shounen, dragging us along till the end sadly. You could say he did the opposite for fire force, but with fire force I think it took way more shounen traits in the overall, I think it suffered the same fate but it was far less superior, after the first little part I think shinra saving tamaki we see ALOT of the same things over and over again. alot of the pillars got confusing, but alot of it was cool, I think only the end was epic. There should honestly be a soul eater brother hood/ remake. He should get an editor that helps with pacing, overall storyboarding and framing as I feel that soul eaters framing was way cooler and he lost some of it. It should also follow the end of the anime with some of the manga, I think the anime had a better ending.
The manga is pretty cool. I find myself revisiting the anime every couple years as well but every time it to the portion with Arachne, I just skip it(anime). It has this cool build up but when Arachne shows up its literally boring to me. I just skip it to the final battle with Ashura. Strange that the manga continues (Continued i guess) but the anime just ends... Still thou the anime is awesome. I still think stein is cool af. I have a feeling he was never under anyone's control he was just Insane af 😂.and experimental
I think if Fire Force had been a little slower paced and had shown a bit of the characters having fun with each other and showing more moments between them, just comparing the first volume of both, Fire Force has a bit more of a serious tone than Soul Eater. and I really like the cast of Fire Force as well.
Soul Eater was my Gateway anime the one that got me into Anime, well... Earlier in my life my brother showed me the 3rd Madoka Magica movie _"Rebellion"_ and Memes, then after Soul Eater which I watched with my brother shower me one Halloween {Didn't get to finish it} and it was the Dub {I saw clips and I like Sub and Dub for it, but I usually prefer Subbed over Dudded} Madoka Magica is my favourite anime, Soul Eater is also soooo good, and in Soul Eater I kinda relate to Crona
I was really into the Soul Eater anime for a while some years ago. And I watched through the whole kishim arc. It definitley is heavily character driven, which I like. But the story there was good too. The one big annoyance I had was the Excalibur episode. I dont know why they went out of their way to make him so annoying. To this day his stupid song is stuck in my head. But aside from that, it is a fantastic anime through and through. I did try to get into fire force a bit while it was running on Toonami. But it felt weirdly slow paced. And it didnt really hook me how every ability was just a variation on being another crazy fire trick that only that person could do for some reason. Also, the fire monsters were kinda cool, but basically just hollows from Bleach. So there wasnt a ton of originality there to hold me, imho.
I don't even remember a lot of it. But it was the first manga that I read. The manga was good. It's much better than the anime. Mayba, I loved it so much because it was the first manga that I enjoyed. And for once, I was pretty young and didn't care a lot about world building. Instead, the characters are very memorable ❤
It was created by the same person, in fact it was NOT created by Ohkubo to expand the world, and to give explanations of some things that I didn't want to explain in Soul Eater. he did it while making soul eater
Ima be real i remember being super excited to see the manga at store picked it ip read a few pages and was super disappointed with the artsyle like so much i just left it and never bought it
I view people who hate “fan service” like those who hate “violence,” they are annoying. They always have to make it way worse than what it is. Can either ruin a story? Yes but its existence doesn’t automatically make something bad.
Your comparison didn't work for the logic your stating, Violence and Fan service are similar but not the same thing Also violence is a necessity for battle Shonen Fan service doesn't hold purpose unless conveyed Hidden meaning
@@gohan2791 violence isn’t necessary for “battle Shonen, one; two fan service can both be purposeful and incidental. I literally saw someone call a fight between a guy in a suit versus a girl in a diver’s suit “fan service” due to the natural curves and jiggles of the woman.

Ppl are missing the best fight who are anime onlys, black stars fight at the castle , kid fighting Noah, maka and soul upgrade, the moon battle
I reread se every few years and still do art for kid and black star ,I need more se
Or a new manga with the characters a few years older in they're 20s
I think by the mangas end make and other are 13 at the start but were maybe 14-15 by the end
I don't care if I'm 50 I hope we get a re boot
Soul Eater is a masterpiece in terms of art. I wish more artists got inspired by it to create their own thing. We look at Soul Eater and the art is ... Soul Eater.
Don't get me wrong, I like Fire Force a lot, but I think Soul Eater cooked more, and I'm only anime for Soul Eater, but I plan to read it all eventually.
I have always loved Soul Eater, never read the manga, but I really hope they give it a proper reboot someday
Vandread, my good man, got me into anime.
I’m still using plugged in headphones right now 😂. I feel like ones that aren’t get lost easily.
Love Soul Eater and Fire Force!
Finding out it wasn’t the true ending was very unfortunate but I still loved the show regardless
The thumbnail raises a question I’ve often wondered.
Why doesn’t kid just paint three stripes on the other side so it matches?
Cuz he hated the stripes to begin with. he’s tried countless times to black dye the stripes but they never hide away
@ I know but at least if he painted/dyed the other side it would be symmetrical.
If we can get a faithful finale to Bleach over a decade after its initial ending, I believe Soul Eater has a chance
Fun fact soul eater and fire force are connected, the end fire force marks the start of soul eater
And both have the same author
I can’t find a good translation of soul eater manga online :(
I read it on Mihon and with source of MangaSee.
Still need a new version that follows the entire manga to the fullest
I wanna start the anime and finish with the manga, when episode I should stop and go to the manga to have the best expérience please ?
One of the favorites of Soul Eater is not just fanarts but ocs fans made!
Bro i never used headphones i didn't need to plug in what
I really wish they remake this anime so much
i looked into asura, because when they show his appearance when he is first ressurected, i thought he kind of looked like death the kid with the black and white hair with a distinctive pattern. sure enough, apparently asura is death's son (which makes all the things death does so much more screwed up LOL), and i dont think that is mentioned ANYWHERE in the anime. im 10 episodes from finishing it, so correct me if im wrong. but my point is that such a big detail like that implies there are a bunch of other changes as well, so i definitely wanna read the manga some day
The soul eater connection is the only reason I watched fire force
Lore of What Happened to Soul Eater? Momentum 100
Any other series that has the same vibe as Soul Eater?
Yah but it would have been great if they didn't end the anime on her turning into a weapon herself and we actually got to watch her fight
My favorite part in original endings is then manga using same or close ending but make it 100 times better, manga literally have courage hit but better.
Plz do What happen to Flame Of Recca
Plugged in headphones are better, im still using em
Fire force was one of the ones I binged and after the second season the first words I said is, "Where 3?"
I would love to see a soul eater remake what do people think?
Soul Eater was great, but I agree that it changed in a weird way during the second half. It feels like there is supposed to be more.
Hey I feel called out. 2024 is pretty much over and I'm still using "plug-in" earphones.
I’m hoping that once the fire force anime convulses well finally get that Spul Eater Brotherhood
we need a remake
I just finnished it on monday and now im depressed and dont know if i should finnish full metal alchemist or jjk.
Soul Eater (the anime) was peak the only moment that wasnt that good was
SPOILER WARNING
Shinigami's death he died protecting another character (i dont remember who it was its been sometime since i watched soul eater) it should be a sad moment but instead he just gotted 1 shotted and his body fell like paper
He never died in the anime he’s fine the next episode
Can we for the love of God please just get a soul eater remake at this point that follows the manga and doesn’t go off the rails please
Would you do a video on nanatsu no taizai 😅
The manga is pretty cool. I find myself revisiting the anime every couple years as well but every time it to the portion with Arachne, I just skip it(anime). It has this cool build up but when Arachne shows up its literally boring to me. I just skip it to the final battle with Ashura. Strange that the manga continues (Continued i guess) but the anime just ends... Still thou the anime is awesome. I still think stein is cool af. I have a feeling he was never under anyone's control he was just Insane af 😂.and experimental
What happened to Soul Eater?
It ended.
- the end
Weird. Some of the comments are missing
WE NEED A REBOOT
SOUL EATER IS AWESOME I ABSOLUTELY FU*KING LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I don't even remember a lot of it. But it was the first manga that I read. The manga was good. It's much better than the anime. Mayba, I loved it so much because it was the first manga that I enjoyed. And for once, I was pretty young and didn't care a lot about world building. Instead, the characters are very memorable ❤
Nahhh i wanted more not just 51 episode's 😭🤧🤧🤧
Waiting for complete??? What do you mean? It's done.
Maka and soul are goated
it reached an ending. wdym what happened
Gotta make those likes an odd 669.
Now can somebody throw up an even 700?
Is weird how the story was "expanded" by the other anime soul eater not and fire force
It was created by the same person, in fact it was NOT created by Ohkubo to expand the world, and to give explanations of some things that I didn't want to explain in Soul Eater.
he did it while making soul eater
Ima be real i remember being super excited to see the manga at store picked it ip read a few pages and was super disappointed with the artsyle like so much i just left it and never bought it
Why are we fighting in the comments 😂😂😂 fire force is the prequel to soul eater the author himself said it but read the manga to understand
My first anime 🫠
I view people who hate “fan service” like those who hate “violence,” they are annoying. They always have to make it way worse than what it is. Can either ruin a story? Yes but its existence doesn’t automatically make something bad.
Facts
Yeah but like… the fan service was an adult (Blair) seducing a minor (soul)…
@@quackquack9022 yeah but like the “violence” was happening to a minor. Blair is a magical cat not an adult, she’s barely in Soul Eater.
Souls eater's anime ending just pulled some stuff and then ignored it at the same time. I dunno, the manga at least made more sense
Tamaki from Fire Force gets way too much hate.
Ohkubo make OP characters no one EVer hates on....i lOVE ME so OP...its the reason why we love mob, ichigo, black star, shinra, arthur and Excalibur.....FOOLS Excalibur is better then then all
Death the kid and soul are my favorite…
hated the anime but i read the manga and it was the biggest hit for me which i loved
The thing is a lot of people don't know about SOUL EATER NOT
I think Crona got a better ending in the anime.
😮💨
