That was brilliant Gabriel. Never been to Bath so its going on the list!
Excellent Video Gabriel thankyou.
You were Lucky to see it yourself.
Try the library in bath for more info, they keep old documents and maps as well as books.
Great video thanks but it's East gate not North gate and it's Bath not Bristol 😂
I made a visit during the opening week, and it was fascinating. Do go if you get the opportunity. It was very popular and hopefully the council will again open the area up for public viewing, soon.
This however is an interesting video but it is spoiled by the voiceover which contains numerous inaccuracies, repetitions and general laziness.
If you're going to make a video, add the facts. There was a lot of information, maps, history, etc available as display boards and exhibitions in the vaults (with pointers to more information), which he could have video'd or photographed for later study. Bath Archives has a wealth of information. There are also books available on the subject.
THE ROPE MARKS ON THE EASTGATE OF BOAT LANE??? May I suggest that someone local examines the local archives to find out the usage of boat lane. Most canal bridges have marks on the wall showing where the horse ropes pulling the barges wore groove in the bridge walls. Possibly winches, capstans or horses were used to drag things from the river into boat lane.
I tried looking in the Victoria County History but it does not include Bath. Sometimes researching an obscure subject gives a way to see the bigger picture.
Bath not Bristol 😮
where does he say bristol?
BARTH if you are posh, BAFF if you are not posh.😂
Are the thousand acrow props still holding up Bog Island?
