    I would like to know about the hand break cable on a Nissan NP200 . The cables have come loose at the hand brake leaver and I don`t know where it could have broken or come loose between the lever and the rear wheel . I appreciate your help and the great videos you post on You Tube . Thank you kindly .

    Good presentation. The actual adjustment needs to be shown

      It is self-adjusting except for the hand brake cable.

    Very informative video. Any advice on removing the brake when the adjustment wheel is stuck and does not want to turn?

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  ปีที่แล้ว

      Adjust the hand brake all the way down, remove the drum, then remove the adjustor and loosen it by spraying some loosening fluid on the adjustor.

    Thank you Gary.
    I noticed there is no split pin to secure the large nut on the hub.
    Would that not unscrew itself ?

    How do you know if the brake shoes is finished or damaged? I'm asking because my hand brake doesn't work so I'm not sure what's the problem🤷‍♂️

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  ปีที่แล้ว

      The rear drums need to be removed and a visual inspection must be carried out, it could just be an adjustment or a seized cable.

    • @samuelmbokazi2318
      @samuelmbokazi2318 ปีที่แล้ว

      When the brakes is finished you will hear bad sound when you brake.when the hand brake does not function it means that the layer on the braking shoes is thin now you will require to adjust the braking shoes bolt.

      Hi, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, it sounds like there may be air in the fuel system that needs to be bled out, or the injector tips are corroded and needs cleaning.

    • @peacefulmusic2880

      @@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 thanks for the reply..so how do I bleed the system..or can only a professional do it.

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check if it has a bleed nipple on the injector rod if so get someone to crank while you open the nipple until all the air is out, if it does not have a bleed nipple then it is best to consult a Mechanic familiar with Subaru

    Hi Gary, I have the 1.6, 16 valve model of the NP200. In the morning when I start her, she "hunts" while the engine is cold, once warm, then it stops. What is cause of this?

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  ปีที่แล้ว

      The throttle body needs cleaning, remove the air filter housing, clean the intake of the throttle body, and use carb cleaner.

    My np200 hand brake is very high and it looks like the adjusting size ten nut is all the way down at the hand brake itself. Is there only one place to adjust the hand brake? Does the hand brake have any adjustment at the brake drum? If not my cable is streched.

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  ปีที่แล้ว

      One needs to adjust the foot brake 1st then the hand brake.

    • @teutonman7018
      @teutonman7018 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Thanks that worked. It wasn't adjusting automatically. Had to remove the brake drum and adjust manually. Handbrake self adjusted to three clicks now from 13 clicks.

    This video doesn't show how to adjust the adjusting wheel. It is just telling but not showing. Is it up or down? Where is up where is down? Is it clockwise or anti-clockwise? Mine is not turning at all. What to do?

  • @nizamsulaman8331

    Shouldn't the lining with the handbrake cable lever face inwards..

    • @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
      @vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, the lever will scrape against the backing plate and the handbrake will not function correctly if fitted facing inward.
