No matter what anyone says, this man is exceptional. Blessed with this kind of talent, I don’t think he even gives a crap what people think of him. I know I wouldn’t!!
it is not about talent... it is about hard work and consistency, so please stop saying this, talent implies the fact that he doesn't have to do lot of work to be here, but it is not true! I think you understand what I said :)
This is one of the best representations of how Chopin felt when he composed this. You really feel the anger in this piece, because at that moment there was a raid in his home country (Poland).
. @somchaisaelee328 Indeed sir, I wouldn't call it aggression, but rather a feeling of anger that the powerlessness and despondency must have given when hearing about the invasion of his home country. That's what I hear in this piece.
@@anmeirdi I don’t really know about the character of this piece. But some pianists make this piece really expressive. th-cam.com/video/pfZ8zEQR_5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bqidk3V04TCZBIGl

Of course he can play classical as his accents and outstand of the melody, but to be able to play this impressive entertaining interpretation he have to be classical enough, so for sure he is beyond classical musicians, another whole new dimension
Technically very high. But I feel nothing. Evgeny Kissin e.g. plays the same piece technically very high, too, but he really feels it. And Kissin makes me being flooded by feelings and pictures in my mind.
At 1:55 he completely skipped a part of ending (that for me is outrageous). He has amazing skils, not matched by anyone, but i have to see him play to enjoy, cannot listen to his music in a car, would prefer other pianists.
Nice technique, but I don't know what makes him feel entitled to cut out some parts.. Interpreting a song and its dynamics and cohesiveness is one thing, but skipping some parts is another.
this was just for a tv show, he is a show man and wants to impress the non-classical music audience. Go listen her stuff for classical-music audience, his touch is superb. This was many years ago, since he suffered an injury and started with Bach Goldberg Variations, he changed, said by him. Go listen to that

Lang Lang has obviously good technique but absolutely awful appalling taste and lack of the composers intentions. He's just a showman sullying the art of pianism and puts technique braggadocio above substance. Can't stand him Just forced myself to listen to it completely and toward the end at 1:55 he missed a few bars ffs His Liszt Don Juan was however brilliant. I'll concede
@@arnauddesarnaulds1932 yes. Although imo he played a stunning Liszt Don Juan his Liszt Hungarian rhapsody 2 was abysmal . His histrionics are off putting too. I understand playing the piano some may show leaked emotion that's understandable but he gurns purely for his audience to lap it up and be impressed with speed over quality of interpretation. This piano has more pedalling than the tour de France :)
@@ciararespect4296 I guess I’m not the only one that liked his Don Juan! But yes, his interpretation for this piece is… well… interesting? It’s really quite obnoxious the way he plays this piece and Liszt’s Rhapsody’s. The fact that he decided not to play some of the bars towards the end as well pretty much sums up the fact that he doesn’t give a damn about the music itself or what Chopin intended the piece to be.
Contemptible review. Sounds like a major case of jealousy. Lang Lang is fabulous. Most music critics are pseudo intellectual snobs who don't have the talent to perform, so they have to criticize the best there is. Sort of like self-medicating. It makes them feel better about their own shortcomings. To my point, I never heard of this reviewer. The world has heard of Lang Lang, and adores him. I rest my case.
