I think ideally for me... I'd have put Tyranth's sawblade design on Shad's polearm handle, and hopefully found a way to add a long topspike. Make it a poleaxe sort of deal.
Same thought. Givw it a spike, just need to pierce the skull, so cutting isnt as ideal as something that can split or pierce the skull. I'm on the Death Flails side for this alone
Even on the current one, adding a spear shouldn't be too hard: you already have two attachment points, I would mount a metal plate opposite the top axsaw blade and add a washer, then under the bottom axsaw blade. Then sharpen to a nice, hefty spearpoint! Then it becomes a shortspear-axsaw!
@@willowd2696 My main issue with the flail is that you would literally be better off just grabbing a sledgehammer than using one with the hammerhead on a chain :p Other than that, yeah, blunt is definitely a very viable choice when fighting zombies. Smash heads open and no need to worry about your weapon getting stuck.
@@Arbaaltheundefeated Completely agree! If those three are the only options though I'd want something smashy smashy over something cutty cutty for zombie scenarios
Classic cylindrical spikes aren't a great option for piercing skulls. The bone can grip the spike and hold onto it. Struggling to dislodge weapons is a disqualifier in a zombpocalypse. Though I believe there are some shapes meant to prevent that.
I've always felt that a Spear is best suited to a Zombie outbreak. Take a pitchfork, remove all prongs barring a central one; you've got a decent short spear.
Saw Scythe wins for me, for one reason above all. It's a polearm, and in a zombie apocalypse keeping distance is even more important than usual. Tyranth's might be a decent side arm though, it seems to me like a modern interpretation of a macuahuitl.
Stronger than each of these weapons alone is the tactics available combining them. Shad's spearsaw would be great to trip up zombies for Nate's finishing smash, while Tyranth's bastardsaw is maneuverable enough to provide cover for any breaking through. Honestly devestating combo
this is implying someone would want to be near Nate while he swings that thing around. let's be honest, a double pendulum for a weapon ain't exactly the definition of control.
@@anonymousmonkey9491 Agreed, yet that's where the polesaw would greatly help. First to provide a more stationary target for Nate's swing, and second to provide Shad safe distance from Nate's swing. Granted, a sledgehammer would probably still be more effective, but at least the "flail" looks cool
Shad definantly had the right idea, it was just his execution that was lacking. The most important things to remember when fighting zombies is to stay out of melee, and to disable them or destroy the head. Essentially, you want a halberd. Something that will keep them far far away that can chop off limbs and heads.
i think a handsaw blade is just too flimsy for fighting zombies, polearm is definitely a smart choice, just wrong type of blade, attaching a machete blade or something would be far more effective.
The production value and quality of these videos your guys are making just keeps going up! Love all this good content your guys are putting together for us
Amazing video, I'd watch more of post-apocalyptic weapon-crafting competitions! PS: I think Nathe's weapon would be lovely if the chain was shorter, the handle longer and maybe the hammer a little smaller (although shortening the chain may be enough to make it less top-heavy)
I think what the flail-like weapons need is a hand guard protector that extends downwards from towards the tip of the stick/pole part. Something like a spiraling outwards metal piece could work. That way the user could safely get leverage from further up for a moment and then retract the hand back once the flail is in motion.
@@ccelik97It doesn't need to be that complicated, a simple ring to stop the top hand entering the rebound zone should be fine [edit] never mind, I see you want the hand inside that zone.
I absolutely loved this challenge! Would probably have to go with the saw scythe, myself - primarily because it seems like it would be the most versatile to use as both a weapon and a tool, which would definitely make it more "valuable" in the apocalypse. If you plan on doing more apocalypse videos, I would love to see the trope of sports equipment as armor really put to the test. Maybe put it up against the weapons that were crafted in this video, even?
This video was really engaging and fun. The gags and building timelapses gave me mythbuster vibes. And you three competing with eachother with your own ideas made me very curious to see the ending results. One of the best videos I've seen on this channel in a while. Great work.
Really neat ideas. I would make the DeathFlail's handle slightly longer and the chain a bit shorter, to enhance control. The WarSaw is a fantastic cutter "out-of-the-box, so to speak. Add in a clip point so you could do some (limited to be sure) thrusting with it, maybe. The FallOut4RipOff might be improved by removing every other tooth. As they are, I'd take the RipOff for sheer versatility. With the suggested mods, the WarSaw would shine. The DeathFlail would be fantastic for someone more, ahh, muscular than myself. Great work, everyone!
The logical step after apocalypse armor and weapons: Apocalypse vehicles! Edit: Those scenes at the utility store just prove those places are like toy stores for adults.
I think tyranth's fallout double saw won over all. Just the smaller profile for ease of carrying, and overall use makes it a solid pick. Would love to see you guys try how effective they are against the tire armor!
Plus the ease of use. You'd definitely need to train with a flail to not knock your own teeth out (still not guaranteed), and using a spear-like weapon could be hard if you don't know what you're doing. You could hit walls with the other end, bang it all over the place. But with a bat? Just swing. No need for training, no tactics really needed. Aim for head, swing.
Shad has EXACTLY recreated my favorite pruning saw, complete with the forward lean, long blade, and grabbing hook. The flail would be more useful with half the weight of hammer head, and about 2/3 the chain. The saw axe looks like the most likely of the lot.
I'm really digging the black and red motif in everyone's gear. Also was a fan of the war scythe. There are some handsaws that are reinforced that would have probably helped with the overall flex. I like keeping some distance and if need be a polearm could block up a hallway.
Nate gets a point here. I mean, in a classic zombie apocalypse, the goal is to inflict damage to the "BRAIN" (at least when it comes to "killing" zombies). That flail would split one's head open like a watermelon. I would definitely add a longer staff and turn it into a kind of Hussite flail (harder to aim though).
and in a classic zombie apocalypse the survivor using that is more likely to accidentally swing it into themselves or miss rather than actually hit a shambling target lol
@@MechaGriffin Not really as much of a problem as people make it out to be. As long as the shaft is twice or more the length of the chain it's prefectly safe.

This is my first ever TH-cam comment. Shad’s channel has inspired and impassioned me in so many ways. I look forward to every new video, especially the next Adventure Quest. Thank you guys for everything you do.
With Shads I would suggest mounting so the "shtick" runs along the backbone of the blade with a blade in reverse too. Nate needs to make a flail like a whip with multiple small chains and a longer handle. Tyranth should add more blades and an end spike.
Dunno if anyone's said this yet, but you can also make a bow with some high-pressure tolerant pvc pipe and some string. That's only about 20 dollars, plus some dowels for arrows to be around 25-30, a reasonable amount to spend on an apocalypse weapon.
The gang not wearing armor? What is this madness? That said, loving that jacket Shad. Also the Fallout 4 circular saw and the saw/scythe both tie for my vote. The scythe would be the primary with the circular saw a good backup in case the handsaw blade snaps.
This is the most educational of all your videos, Shad! For me at least. I've spent hundreds of hours in DIY shops & I'm almost always fiddling with the axes there.
"Hard to control", that's why flails used in war were primarily built for two hands over one; more control and easier for it to reach over shields, which is the flails big strength.
If you make a continuation to this, homemade swords would be cool. I’m curious how sharpened sheet metal welded to a bike handle or metal pipe compares to actual, professionally built swords
I want to see these up against axes, hoes, hammers and other stuff that you don't need to craft (but they ofc aren't made for combat) Point being is all this crafting and modding worth doing if you get the same result with something you already have in your shed
I love this type of content, mixing it with your actual historical know-how when it comes to weapons is awesome. My vote goes to shad for the saw scythe
My apocalypse flail was made from a long piece of 1/2" galvanized iron pipe, a length of chain, and a padlock. One idea I've wanted to try but haven't been able to is a wooden spear with a steel tip. Take a 7 foot long piece of closet rod, drill out the center about 4 inches down, insert a 6" long piece of 3/8" steel rod in the hole, sharpen the exposed tip, and taper the end of the rod.
Gotta go with reach in a zombie apocalypse. Shad wins, though I think there's room for improvement. A pole arm with thrusting, slashing, and bludgeoning aspects is what I'd work toward. Mount half a shear on a long shaft, maybe a ball of concrete cast around where the tang meats staff.
as an aspiring blacksmith i gotta say I love your videos, very informative. I've always had a love for swords and very long knives and dangerous things, your videos are helping me learn what next to play at making in my forge
The flail wins because of pure destructive power: it killed the stone. The ripper saw comes in second. Safe but noisy, with less penetration than you would think. The zombie pruner would have been better, if a machete or cutlass blade was added instead. It would have been the hands down winner. Shad shouldn't have goon so deep into the apocalypse theme.
I feel like I'd prefer the reach against an opponent who is generally dumb and slow. Really exploit their weaknesses, you can probably get in multiple hits if need be
Saw Scythe is the best of the three imo. Hard points: 1. Has reach 2. excellent slashing 3. could be filed down to have a spear tip 4. seems like the design can be replaced quickly and is a secure design Soft points: 1. quiet when used 2. can function as a walking stick 3. doesn't need to be holstered because walking stick 4. long enough that stick itself can be used if blade breaks. 5. ease of use, lower risk of self injury
I like this format, after you create your weapons you each should come up with a challenge and the weapon with the most points at the end wins. You could make up rules on the fly to lower Nate score for no good reason and Shad could scream "POWER" a lot when he's hitting things.
As soon as he came out with that flail, he won before the contest even started. It is by far the king of zombie apocalypse DIY weaponry. If he upgraded that flail with a longer handle, it would be perfect.
Been a while since I’ve watched a shadiversity video, but this video immediately grabbed my attention. The intro was really sick and the test footage was cool too. Of the weapons, my vote is on the Fallout saw club. Well done gents
The Warsaw cuts way better than expected. The Death Flail taking chunks from that block earns high marks. But I have to agree that of the 3 I would pick up the Fallout 4 Ripoff to smash zombie faces.
@@Aaa-vp6ugAh, sorry, I wrote it really garbled. It was a joke that you would find them in a Walmart (which you don't have), so it's your "fault" for not being in the "right" country.
To add into Tyranth’s comment about Shad’s “weapon” they are known as extendable pole pruners and the cheapest one I was able to find was 50$ USD and that is a non-electric one. Compared to Shad just using a wooden stick and a hand saw to make that would be like 20-ish USD for roughly the same effect. Forget zombie apocalypse here is Shad saving us from the financial apocalypse.
Nice job! I hope that we get to see more stuff like this. As for voting, I would probably vote for Tyranth’s weapon since it’s easy to carry/control, can easily be replaceable if the blades break (assuming that you have access to a few lying about), and effective. The other two could work, but I would have issues with durability and if I can hit my targets with it. But that’s me.
Definitely partial to a mastered flail out of these three options. Kind of fell in love with the battle between the Witch King of Angmar vs. Eowyn, so I'm a bit biased even if the Witch King lost.
I live in Texas. Not only do we have an ammo and gun surplus but we also have a surplus of charcoal, sulphur, and saltpeter as well as scrap metal. Infinite guns.
@@shadowofhawk55 Cool. May find that it takes a little experimenting to get the ratios just right depending on the quality of the raw materials. When baking, just switching to a different brand of flour, same type, just, say, switching from Pillsbury all-purpose flour to Gold Medal all-purpose flour, can seriously affect the finished product. And that's using a standardized product. Taking raw materials out of the ground is going to result in a much wider range of purity and chemical consistency.
I like the silent admission at the beginning that for $50, you'd be best to just get an axe. It's one of those things that is so affordable that apocalypse or not, just get one.
This is my favorite video on this channel so far. the idea is fun And the ending is superb and surprisingly funny. Not to mention educational. keep up the good work
Love each of these you guys made. Would have loved to see the circular saw weapon be done as a mace too (cut halfway through each one, put both halves together, hammer them into the top of the haft)
You can make an DIY goedendag out of a posthole-digger handle, a piece of steel flatbar (sharpened) and a short piece of suitably-sized pipe. Primarily a head-smasher, but with cutting and stabbing elements as needed. The soft steel of most flatbar will bend instead of snapping, so you can straighten it in the field. Cut the handle in half and make two if you want it sidearm-sized.
The video was preaty entertaining 😄 The risk of a zombie apocalipse would be the same with the "risk" of ending world hunger, but how about, just for the sake of it make an episode 2 with actualy good wepons you could make with items from hardware store. Maybe a clawhammer head with a longer shaft or a billhook with a longer handdle, a axe handdle with nails, maybe you could get a shovel and cut some of the metal to make some kind of spear etc. 😉
I’d have made a apocalypse adaptation of a macohuitl. Take the axe handle, and attack razor blades to both sides of the striking end , and a spike for stabbing
They all are very viable, but I feel you could replace 2/3rds of them in the garden section alone. Personally, give me a 3-foot steel pipe. Weight is light enough to carry with you always with enough heff and mass to swing. Crowbar if allowed premade tools.
Crowbars tend to be overly heavy relative to length right? Not what I'd want to swing around all day. Boring as all hell maybe, but just give me an axe any day of the week. If I get a week of prep time before the apocalypse hits, I'll just go buy 10,000 rounds of ammo though.
I love the flail, though I wonder if you combined Shad's polearm length handle with the flail head, how more or less effective could it be? Certainly safer for the user.
It would be less, I feel. The longer the handle, the more torque the heavy end exerts on the user, meaning less control and less acceleration for the same amount of muscle put into moving it. You saw the difficulty of supporting it from the light end with the short handle; that difficulty is multiplied with length.
The flail would likely be suitable to use from atop a wall, its nature making it ideal for downward strikes, and the danger if friendly fire is greatly reduced
It has been a while since I first saw this and I have to ask. Why didn’t shad buy a machete for his war scythe’s blade. I feel like it would have performed better and still look post apocalyptic and intimidating.
Personally, I have to say Tyranth has the most practical choice of weapon for the zombie apocalypse, or just the collapse of civilization in general. It can rip through soft targets, bludgeon sturdier ones, is compact and light enough for ease of carry when you don't have access to easy vehicle travel like we do now, and is made of easily sourced materials - the handle can even be replaced by a good, thick tree branch if you need to. Nate's choice is creative, but just too unwieldy to be reliable despite the sheer power it can potentially bring to bear, while Shad's weapon is simply too long for use indoors (an issue Nate's weapon also has), though shaping the sawblade to a point instead of a flat end would mitigate this downside.
Honestly, I'll stick with the one I made, ages ago. Heavy pipe, with one of those adapters on the end of it, makes for quite a chunk of weight. It's functionally a mace. Just a simple, straight forward medieval mace.
Saw Club was the best in my opinion. Easy to use with little training, and very effective against the targets you're going to be facing in a zombie apocalypse.
So, we have the circular saw axe, which is pretty good at killing zombies but it's also a dinner bell. We have the saw swordstick, which has such severe flex and edge alignment issues if can't get through the skull. And we have the hammerflail, which is so heavy you can't use a secondary with it.
diy weapon idea: mini-glaive buy a thick carbon steel cleaver ($10) a tall dowel/stick ($5) a flat thick file fashion the file into a knoife, weld it to the end of the cleaver, this is easily aldready devastating. Then add a stick to extend the range.
they all agreed that Tyrinth had the best weapon, but did none of them realise that Shad straight up made a polearm, immediately making his weapon better than either of the others. and then there's the genius move of using a saw blade, made of incredibly thin, flexible, strong steel. imagine if he ground an actual edge onto that!
When you look at those weapons you realize that each is just a fancy stick. And when it comes to sticks there is a simple rule. Bigger stick = better stick. Shad wins.
Zombie Pruner for me. Mostly because I love spears. And I'm loving the friendly rivalry that you guy have in videos like these. I gotta try something like that myself now.
the "war-saw" from "pole land" lets you attack a zombie far from the arms length of that zombie thus statistically minimizing the chance of infection through fluid or physical contact, therefore it is the best out of the three for a zombie apocalypse
I'd like to take a moment to appreciate Tyranth's control over the various weapons. At the very least, they didn't show him hitting the pipe, whether he did in the outtakes, I don't know, but they showed Shad and Nate doing it.
I think a halbard made out of a sheet mettle you formed and sharpened with an angle grinder and a really large nail on the front would be the best option. Though putting a machete on the top would eokr as well if you are allowed to.
When i was a kid i would stick nails through boards and make spears with pieces of metal. I even made a shield with a piece of wood bits of punched steel strips on the edges. I even bought a handle and a strap to hang it on my arm.
I went to a renaissance faire a while back and there was a stand selling DIY zombie weapons. A majority of them were baseball bats with a variety of attachments added on, like barbed wire, saw blades, railroad spikes, etc... The one I picked out just because I liked it, was two baseball bats welded together by the end of their handles, essentially making it a staff with two VERY heavy ends. I have no idea how effective a weapon it is, but its really fun to use, so I don't really care.
Hardwood staff 6' long, with 9" hedge shearing blades fixed on both ends and course sharpened on both sides. The flail needs to be smaller and lighter, like 1 lb head.
Is no one going to acknowledge Shad just cut a water bottle with a fucking handsaw. And that cleanly. The man's a beast, that's some god level edge alignment.
Shad's reaction when he sees Nate's flail was glorious. You can see him taking sanity damage.
If Nate's flail has some videogame legendary weapon name I'd call it The Kinetic Crusher.

9:50 Congratulations Tyranth, you managed to create a zombie dinner bell.
"oh, you're approaching me?"
*zombie noises*
Same thought. *Ding Brains are done! Ding Brains are done! Ding Brains are done... And the rest of the Whopper song.
+300% threat level.
Tyranth's might be a decent side arm though, it seems to me like a modern interpretation of a macuahuitl.
and Saw Scythe can be used to cut wood win needed
I favor the Saw Scythe as well
It’s a shit pole arm, a saw is soo flexible it won’t do anything if you try to stab with it , it’s not even that good as a cutting device ,,
Tyranths with a spike out the tip and back side on a longer pole would be best
@tymthurling8125 Yeah. A machete blade would have been better. It's sturdier, cuts better and still has saw teeth on the back edge.
"Well, i created it, so it´s creative." ... omg, i´m dying!
Stronger than each of these weapons alone is the tactics available combining them. Shad's spearsaw would be great to trip up zombies for Nate's finishing smash, while Tyranth's bastardsaw is maneuverable enough to provide cover for any breaking through.
Honestly devestating combo
At first I read that as final smash
this is implying someone would want to be near Nate while he swings that thing around. let's be honest, a double pendulum for a weapon ain't exactly the definition of control.
@@anonymousmonkey9491
Agreed, yet that's where the polesaw would greatly help. First to provide a more stationary target for Nate's swing, and second to provide Shad safe distance from Nate's swing.
Granted, a sledgehammer would probably still be more effective, but at least the "flail" looks cool
I love everything about the Functional Fandom videos theses days. The intro, the topics, the music, the montages, and of course the content.
I swear Nate, Tyranth and Shad are just three teddy bears being really passionate.
Very huggable
They're friend-shaped sword nerds
@@Sr_ECO this was the best thing i read today
Big teddy bears with sharp weapons
Someone's been playing a lot of Dead Rising 😂
Shad not gona like this :)
The hammer chain a couple of links shorter on Shad's longer tool handle!
@@ccelik97It doesn't need to be that complicated, a simple ring to stop the top hand entering the rebound zone should be fine [edit] never mind, I see you want the hand inside that zone.
I was thinking the same. Something like a shortened hussite flail
@@DavidSmith-vr1nb Yeah lol [to your edit].
I think the coconut tests may have been the most satisfying thing I've ever watched! Great weapons
I think the saw blade is just too wobbly to be used for stabbing. Without some reinforcement I dont think it would do the job.
The logical step after apocalypse armor and weapons: Apocalypse vehicles!
Edit: Those scenes at the utility store just prove those places are like toy stores for adults.
Toy stores for men.
Mad Max! After all they are in Australia.
I loved Shad's nervous laugh at about 5:12
I'm really digging the black and red motif in everyone's gear.
Also was a fan of the war scythe. There are some handsaws that are reinforced that would have probably helped with the overall flex. I like keeping some distance and if need be a polearm could block up a hallway.
Very cool video!
I really like how Tyranth’s weapon was both bladed and somewhat blunt and could be used either one handed or two handed.
In that case just get a hammer and spike and make a bec de Corbin
and in a classic zombie apocalypse the survivor using that is more likely to accidentally swing it into themselves or miss rather than actually hit a shambling target lol
@@MechaGriffin Not really as much of a problem as people make it out to be.
As long as the shaft is twice or more the length of the chain it's prefectly safe.
@@clothar23 of course safety issue fixed no problemo, in hands of trained person is deadly weapon, in hands of office worker is tool for faster journey to RIP

Educational standards haven't dropped that much mate.
I love the war saw/Saw scythe/whatever. Especially for maintaining trees. Very useful.
The problem with the saw blade one is how noisy it is. That's just ringing the dinner bell for zombies.
Only if the zombies can hear. If their senses are weak, they might not notice...
Also just don't hit metal. It was perfectly fine against fruit.
@@Amy_the_LizardWell, we all know how well zombies can hear.
Tyranth has learned to cast Booming Blade. 😜
@@RokuroCarisu Or Toll the Dead! Ha!
I am afraid it would, except if you fight against water bottles :)
So truly a brute force
If you make a continuation to this, homemade swords would be cool. I’m curious how sharpened sheet metal welded to a bike handle or metal pipe compares to actual, professionally built swords
I don’t think “sword” would be the word, at most those could be considered Machetes
I want to see these up against axes, hoes, hammers and other stuff that you don't need to craft (but they ofc aren't made for combat)
Point being is all this crafting and modding worth doing if you get the same result with something you already have in your shed
Me too!
Well they made that joke at the beginning where they all went for the axe first so I think that is a pretty good sign of the effectiveness of it.
I like the saw safe because it has read. It looks more normal, but for self-defense the spinning wheel of death.
@@orcapodstudio-retronaut wut?
Should include the crowbar if they do.
The channel quality has somehow gotten exponentially greater even just looking back at this 6 month old video.
You've struck a truly perfect balance
Whoa - like a homemade adapted bec de corbin! 😮 That'd be so awesome!
@@morgansmith1930 In my mind the poleaxe family of weapons are the ultimate in any situation.
The main weakness of Shad's scythe are the teeth since they can break or get caught on clothing when cutting someone
@@alargecookie Agreed! I love the glamor and trustiness of a good sidearm, but polearms - just the reach is 👌
as an aspiring blacksmith i gotta say I love your videos, very informative.
Hard points:
1. Has reach
2. excellent slashing
3. could be filed down to have a spear tip
4. seems like the design can be replaced quickly and is a secure design
Soft points:
1. quiet when used
2. can function as a walking stick
3. doesn't need to be holstered because walking stick
4. long enough that stick itself can be used if blade breaks.
5. ease of use, lower risk of self injury
What a fun video!
I'm very surprised nobody made a goedendag. No need to sharpen it, easy to use and make, super effective in most scenarios.
I like this format, after you create your weapons you each should come up with a challenge and the weapon with the most points at the end wins. You could make up rules on the fly to lower Nate score for no good reason and Shad could scream "POWER" a lot when he's hitting things.
I would say the best would be a mix of shad's and tyrant's creations: long stick and saw blade
That saw club sounds AWESOME.
The Warsaw cuts way better than expected.
The Death Flail taking chunks from that block earns high marks.
But I have to agree that of the 3 I would pick up the Fallout 4 Ripoff to smash zombie faces.
Thanks!
I still think the Scottish Claymore is the best sword to have for a zombie apocalypse.
*Quickenings sold separately*
Is that the only Highlander in recorded history that would get dumber with every accidental beheading because they're killing zombies?
Rather hard to find at your local hardware store though.
@@anvos658 Not in Scotland. Walmart has them there. 😘
@@steemlenn8797We don’t have Walmart here.

The Double SawBlade Axe is very impressive!
Against zombies, I think the best will be to mount the table saw saws on the long stick for increased safety distance.
I live in Texas. Not only do we have an ammo and gun surplus but we also have a surplus of charcoal, sulphur, and saltpeter as well as scrap metal. Infinite guns.

@@brigidtheirish It’s not hard, just need proper measuring tool. Hard part is making the bullets.
@@shadowofhawk55 Oh, I'm sure it's not *if you know how.* That's the trick.
@@brigidtheirish I’ve never done it but I’ve looked it up and a recipe saved somewhere
Not to mention educational. keep up the good work
The dynamic between these three is awesome!
Love each of these you guys made. Would have loved to see the circular saw weapon be done as a mace too (cut halfway through each one, put both halves together, hammer them into the top of the haft)
very nice, i vote for a second video with new weapons!
The video was preaty entertaining 😄
The risk of a zombie apocalipse would be the same with the "risk" of ending world hunger, but how about, just for the sake of it make an episode 2 with actualy good wepons you could make with items from hardware store.
Maybe a clawhammer head with a longer shaft or a billhook with a longer handdle, a axe handdle with nails, maybe you could get a shovel and cut some of the metal to make some kind of spear etc. 😉
I’d have made a apocalypse adaptation of a macohuitl. Take the axe handle, and attack razor blades to both sides of the striking end , and a spike for stabbing
guys PLEASE make this a series, this was amazing!
They all are very viable, but I feel you could replace 2/3rds of them in the garden section alone.
Personally, give me a 3-foot steel pipe. Weight is light enough to carry with you always with enough heff and mass to swing. Crowbar if allowed premade tools.
Crowbar! All the utility of a crowbar and all the smashing potential of a mace
Nate wins for damage.
Shad wins for creative application of history.
Tyranth wins for the one I'd probably want to use.
Stick good
Flail for the win, especially in an apocalyptic solo scenario the sheer crowd control capabilities of that weapon makes it top teit
It has been a while since I first saw this and I have to ask. Why didn’t shad buy a machete for his war scythe’s blade. I feel like it would have performed better and still look post apocalyptic and intimidating.
I love the war saw scythe, just the way it went cleanly through that bottle
And we have the hammerflail, which is so heavy you can't use a secondary with it.
diy weapon idea:
mini-glaive
buy a thick carbon steel cleaver ($10)
a tall dowel/stick ($5)
a flat thick file
fashion the file into a knoife, weld it to the end of the cleaver, this is easily aldready devastating. Then add a stick to extend the range.
I cracked up several times watching them shopping for weapon parts at Bunnings 😂😂😂
they all agreed that Tyrinth had the best weapon, but did none of them realise that Shad straight up made a polearm, immediately making his weapon better than either of the others.
and then there's the genius move of using a saw blade, made of incredibly thin, flexible, strong steel. imagine if he ground an actual edge onto that!
When you look at those weapons you realize that each is just a fancy stick. And when it comes to sticks there is a simple rule. Bigger stick = better stick. Shad wins.
The flail can be improved by adding a hanguard, allowing you to keep your hand higher up the length for easier wielding.
My vote for shad. It's the most versatile and effective weapon/ tool.
You can cut and saw through a lot of things and light enough to carry.
You'e guys' production quality and video ideas are peak.
I think a halbard made out of a sheet mettle you formed and sharpened with an angle grinder and a really large nail on the front would be the best option. Though putting a machete on the top would eokr as well if you are allowed to.
This was like watching an episode Top Gear, but with melee weapons. Love it.
Can we all agree that functional fandom is this channel's best idea ever?
