@@Ricantarantulaboss Just take you're time and make sure to keep a eye on where it is, my one is growing super quick, and I had to rehouse and it bolted and escaped luckily, I was prepared for it.

I'm now obsessed with watching these videos, all sorts of different animal care videos, etc and now I'm looking into different pets and already started collecting things for enclosures! thanks for inspiring me! You have a huge heart for all your little baby's and it's inspiring! :)
My first obt rehouse went like this, along with my second lol they are so unpredictable! I have found if you give them a semi arboreal enclouse with along of floor space they won't be so aggravated when you open the enclosure!
Dude...for real...I have a $500+ order from microwilderness that should be here tuesday! Totally worth it, and Nate has been super helpful. 100% recommend!
I rehoused my bigger OBT yesterday (around 2cm) and holly hell was she a bolty little bugger and almost ran straight from the dubbel boxes into my apartment, but luckily we both eventually settled on her new enclosure being the better option xD hahaha My Ceratogyrus darlingi was much easier to move, she just bit my straw once to see if it was edible but then followed its directional pushes quite nicely :D Much love and respect from a little heathen in Sweden!
@@willowlambert4238 Sadly not, or atleast not at the moment😅 I'm planning on trying my hand out at shooting and editing this year (hopefully) but that will most likely be based around trying to do videos for my music. But if I have the time over after I get a grip on the basics I might upload something with my animals since I have bunch of them and I always do feedings every week anyways🙂
When an experienced Tarantula keeper rehouses a species like a person with arachnophobia, you know that species is problematic. Yet, they are still kept because "Oooo, orange!" I'm just glad people keep them because they make rehousing videos so much more exciting!
Ah Kat, this was great. Don’t feel bad, I made some of the same mistakes when I rehoused my first one. I’ve learned firstly what you did, don’t put their enclosure into the new one. Lmao. Just get them in a cup and transfer. Then, to give them a semi arboreal setup on top of the piles of dirt. They run and stop under cover and tend to calm down faster. Also, webbing turns into amazing designs too as a bonus. ;) keep up the good work.
Idk if you'll see this but I have a tip, I have a juvenile a. seemanni and she is unhinged, What I do is I get one of those flatter deli cups/bowls and put it on one side of the hide/burrow and use a really skinny paintbrush to maneuver it under the deli cup, then I Use the delicup lid and slide it under the cup and tarantula, After wars I put the delicup inside the enclosure, close the lid then use the airholes to let me use the paintbrush and open the deli cup, Idk if the holes on your enclosures are big enough for a really skinny paintbrush but I'm sure something can fit through them. tldr: 1. Place a deli cup(flat one) at one end of the burrow/hide 2. Use a paintbrush to push the tarantula towards the delicup. 3. Slide the delicup lid under the tarantula and make sure the delicup doesn't snap close. 4. place the deli cup in the new enclosure. 5. Close the enclosure and use a thin paintbrush or stick to open the delicup through the holes. 6. push the tarantula into it's new hide so you can remove the delicup.
Take a plastic fork or spoon, and use heavy duty clear tape to attach it to a deep catch cup. Mine is a 1 liter water bottle from casey's, with the end cut off. Gives you the ability to move it without having to worry as much if the T ends up on the cup rather than in. Nice job though. You did the most important things: Kept her contained, kept her safe, got her in her new home. It's a definite win.
Its like I am not into tarantulas, but fascinated, and now glued to this channel. Awesome content and I can't believe I'm saying this, but awesome beasties too.
Omg yes Exotics Lair just had a CRAZY time rehousing his OBT LOL!!😂🕷🤦🏼♀️ it was crazy and by the looks of it you also had a crazy time lol 😂 Anyways I love you so much!!! 🖤🕸 I'm always so excited when you upload!! You are one of my favourite TH-camrs ❤🖤❤🖤
I got an M balfouri from Micro Wilderness. I unboxed it without incident. However, a couple nights later, I turned on my light and it began running around the top of its enclosure at warp speed. So yep, those Old Worlds can be plenty fast.
I love this video! As much as I always talk about how much I love other T's, the OBT is honestly my favorite. I own more of them than any other T. The Tom Moran cupping is it best bet. I've rehoused so many of OBTs, more than any other species. I have crazy stories of trying to do EXACTLY what u just did. At least u learned and was like "don't do this like this". I've tried a handful of times, all with fails 😆. Cupping is so fast and so easy. U HAVE to put holes all in the cup though. OBTs will do what urs did at the end and eventually hunker down once in the cup. Without a ton of holes you'll be in the same position u were in in the video. Anyways, love the video. Ur amazing ♥️
I got my OBT after 2 months into Tarantula keeping. Before that I've done research and watch many vids about OBT. The first time I rehouse my OBT, it fled to my hand, quickly ran down the table and ended up underneath my bed 😅 it was basically a war. Thankfully I didn't get bitten. I housed her in a big enclosure now so I won't have to rehouse her ever again 😁
Hahaha I did have to laugh with the obt video. Just got my sling obt I am a beginner, here we go so excited to see the process. Thanks for all the info.
You got real lucky that it didn't show any defensive behaviour. The speed is one reason that I'm staying clear from OWs. Venom potency is the other. I just rehoused my 6" B. boehmei the other day. No threats, but plenty of hair flicking. It's enough for me. Hopefully, your OBT settles in quickly and feeding/maintenance can be relatively stress-free. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
You know whats fun Kat? Being Australian and your first adult tarantula is an old world and of course I just had to get a selenothous kotzman. Look them up lol they have a bit of an attitude problem and as I quickly discovered can climb upside down on the lid and try to bite you through the air vent. She has kind of calmed down now a bit lol. Rehousing her was fun. I am just happy our T's don't kick hair.
I’m attempting to get over my arachnophobia and your videos are helping so much! I’ve been researching on getting a jumping spider and soon a nice beginner T, def not an obt 😬 and I see that they’re not necessarily what’s portrayed in media. I’ve seen a few stories like yours that have once feared them, but now love them 😌
When I did my first rehouse of my juvenile OBT, it did not go well lol. She went on an adventure and she at one point ended up near my hand...like almost on it. It was freaking scary LOL. I my second rehouse was perfect, because he had put himself in a perfect little webbed sac under the ground, was able to just pick that up and put it in the new enclosure lol. Unfortunately, he turned out to be male, so I didn't have to rehouse after that. He lasted about 1 1/2 years after maturity. Just died about 2 weeks ago and I put him in resin. Loved that scary bugger.
The joys of bolty t's. Well at least you managed to do it. I'm sure I'd been saying a fair few swear words too...🤣😂 Anyway nice seeing you on the live on Saturday...

I have always had arachnophobia. I am working on getting that under control. This video just gave me SO much anxiety! It's kinda funny to see everyone having trouble with their OBTs meanwhile i pretty much won the OBT lottery and got the most docile OBT there probably is. She is easier to rehouse than most of my new worlds. Literally just sits there when i coax her into a catch cup and calmly walks out of said cup like nothing ever happened, never has done any bolting and only once threat posed me which was my fault for trying to feed her when she had cornered herself. She is such a sweetheart

That looks so stressful. Good job :)
This reminds me of the time I had to move my curly hair tarantula he was fast and random, unlike my pink toe tarantula
I just got a sling 1/2 and shes super fast its hard to feed i was wondering if u cqn hwlp me
Micro Wilderness is the last place you want to get any Tarantula, unless you like to guess what you buy.

She’s just plotting calmly 🔥😂
Lucky 🤣 mine is crazy...she's %100 orange bitey thing lol
I heard that some OBTs are actually really calm. Same for the "docile" species being absolute nuts.
