While pulling into our driveway this night I had to stop and wait for a desert blond tarantula to cross our driveway. It's mating season here in Tucson and they are out everywhere. We have 5 that live alone our driveway and two in our back yard, we get them every year. I consider them my pets.
Extremely grateful to hear about Kat's experiences as a beginner, will make my experience so much lighter when I get my first tarantula in October. Will know to just chill and to observe and let the sling hide as much as it wants

I just moved to a place that is covered with cellar spiders and have been having a very hard time. I’ve decided to start doing exposure therapy, because it really affects me, and I’ve always had a fascination with tarantulas specifically. They don’t make me panic like other types of spiders do. I took the first step and got a few slings from FNT the other day, and your videos are helping me a lot. I did a lot of research prior, and watching your channel was part of that. You are actually helping me learn to respect all spiders and start to work on this. Thank you 😊
P. vittata are my absolute favorite species of Pokie, congrats on getting some of these beauties. My first confirmed female I named Phantasma after Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School; she's also now a proud mother.
We purchased a P.Metallica at the end of last year, was about the size of the ones you just unboxed. So sad, her first molt with us was a bad one that ended in her passing. I love the Poecilotherias.

I still have my P vittata, as well as few more pokies that are on the endangered list (P met, miranda, smithi). I've all had them for almost a decade now. Maybe I should look into breeding loans around my area.

I love Kat because she represents me 1000%. Seeing Kat being scared of them actually gave me the courage to get my first T's after years thinking about it. I find her very relatable. I almost had a heart attack yesterday and screamed the same way when I was feeding my b. Auratum sling and maybe I blinked too loudly and it bolted... well, it basically teleported 😂 I had no idea the slings could be so skittish 😅

I recently got a Poecilotheria metallica sling who is also in a larger enclosure than I would normally put a sling her size in so I don't have to rehome her as frequently lol.
Personally I would go with Peeves because he was a terrifying nuisance in the books and since they are bolty and cause a we tad anxiety it’s perfect! Haha

My friend has several pokies and they're thriving! I've wanted one for ages but never had the guts to actually go out and buy one for myself but having interacted with them so much and seen them (very rarely) wander around their enclosures, they are genuinely so beautiful. I'm only a beginner with old worlds, so I'm playing it safe, but I've had a great experience with my Asian fawn and my OBT so eventually I'm definitely getting a pokie someday. The entire genus is just absolutely gorgeous, maybe one day I'll finally get myself one! I love your lil ghosties, they're so cute 🥰 I would've named them Ghoul and Eerie, but I adore the name Mr Tarantula Kat picked out for the first one
So i just got my first tarantula a month ago. Ive usually had true spiders(just got a black widow a few weeks ago). But i got a Haitian brown bird eater and whoa is he fast. His name is Murphy and he’s so cute. He just molted last week and his colors are just amazing.
I like the way how you carefully open your packages and release your tarantulas into their enclosures. But I know, some of they can jump out have give you a scare!
I ordered a juvenile GBB, she bolted up my arm, and she turned around mid elbow and went right into her enclosure. She has made absolutely beautiful webbing.
I bought 2 baboon ornamentals 1incher man one went in the enclosure fine the other one instant transmission across my living room I found it and placed in the enclosure they are super fast my sapphire ornamentals also went in fast as hell in the enclosure but none bolted as fast as those baboon ornamentals

If you ever need another ghost name, you can use the HP series house ghosts: Nearly-headless Nick, Gray Lady, Bloody Baron, Professor Binns, Fat Friar, Moaning Myrtle, and Peeves.
Years ago I rehoused my H-mac it went well, however I noticed the new water dish was empty. The spider was in a safe corner and i decided I'll add the water, that thing was so fast it teleport-ed up my arm. My brain said make like a tree - freeze. My tarantula decided it did not like the human tree and ran around my neck and down my leg and took cover in between my storage crates. I had to chase it around the living room for about 10 minutes happy ending. Tip for new keeper's if it's a fast species allow it to settle for a few hours until you open that door for water or do anything else in there.
I think I've come across three maybe four poecilotheria species for sale in Canada and I think the Victoria bug zoo has one or two in their care, but I don't plan on adding any to my own collection any time soon the idea that one would escape on me and I'd have to tell my tribe that a fast 500 $ spider is on the loose is not something I'd want to deal with ever, anyway I'll be unboxing my first centipede and a special surprise next week.
Remember the scary cereal characters from back in the day like Count Chocula and all that... one of them was a ghost called Boo-berry... I dont know if you found a name yet but Im throwing my hat in with that... because Boo-berry... haha cute name lol even for cereal lol.
Guarantee if you keep them even remotely fed and warm, youll be moving them right back out of those small containers in a month. They grow fast. Very fast.
