- This is the ZD Racing MX-07 (160A 8s Version). A Massive (Not as big as a Traxxas Xmaxx) 1/7 Scale RC Monster Truck. 8s Capable, Max 6 ESC, Big Block Motor, 4mm 7075 Chassis, and a lot of money! But I'd say it's the Best ZD Racing RC Car they have built! Worlds Best RC Car in the World.. right?

This truck is the best looking stock version of anything I've seen. The single color silver with the black flared fenders and massive tires just look awesome.

At least for the American market, it seems like this is about the same value as an Arrma Kraton 6s, with some aesthetic upgrades. I like that it has that flashy paint job available, ZD Racing made it look more polished and mainstream. The inclusion of lights is definitely a nice touch. Great review!
For my money, I'd have to go with an Arrma or for Europe/Australia, a Team Corally for $700.

on my dbx07, the bearings were very fragile and the differentials did not last very long because the travel of the suspensions generates a thrust of the driveshaft against them. If this MX-07 has the same suspension and differentials, it will be the same problem...

Imagine buying an Arrama and installing all those upgrades that already come with this truck. You would be looking at well over 1400 dollars.
The Hobao woudn't have broken anything on that run...

Excellent driving skills! Hopefully, you can hook up with Kevin and those guys, soon. Would be cool to see all of you together at the skate park. That is a very good-looking track with lots of parts that would be considered upgrades on other manufacturers' trucks.

Hi, ZD Racing has brought an interesting model onto the market. The built in Motor can only do 6S, but if you are looking for an 8S motor, then look for the Surpass Hobby ROCKET 4585 1100KV.

It performed really well, it was a bit of a surprise how well it did actually.
The wheely bar (carry handle) seems very well designed and effective.

Damn it looks good! And since you insist on me buying a ZD RC, I Just ordered a DBX 10. Technically it's not for me. My bro in law who just turned 70, had an operation a few weeks ago. So because he broke my Outback Geo, after nearly 40mins of zooming it around (10mph) on Bexhill 's pebble beach last time I was over there, I thought I'd present him with something faster, to see if it breaks more quickly. 🤔😁
How is your long term review of this car. It is one of the most professional looking and handling tuneable RCS I've ever seen on your channel. It's also much cheaper than most traxxas products and doesn't seem to need any upgrades out of the box

Have you ever considered reviewing the DBX-07?
The regular LED program card should work for tuning I've noticed anything Hobbywing sold through banggood aliexpress and the like that the Hobbywing LCD program box and the Bluetooth module will not work. You got to pay to play.

I've been interested in this truck too but at that price parts availability in the long term is what worries me. Especially that it's so expensive it's not gonna sell huge numbers of them so who's to know what spares will look like in 2 years. But might get the roller eventually

You hit the nail on the head. £700 from China, plus the import tax (if that's not paid at source?!), means its definitely priced out of the market!! Nice truck though. The silver's nice, but the other one is better, imho. 😎👍🏻

@@TomleyRC it's not about hobby shops, it's about zd racing. They chose direct sale because of larger profit. If they sold through hobby store, they would pay 40% of the MSRP price or even less

It's massive, I'd like to give it a go, but I just picked up an Arrma Fireteam, and I don't have the room for another 1/7 scale. That seems pretty expensive too, The Arrma is about the same price and has a ton of support and aftermarket parts available. Hopefully ZD will drop the price a little bit in the near future.
Be curious to see the 1/6 scale HBX T6 sometime, such an unusual looking RC.

Hmmmm. Looks good but I’m not quite convinced by this yet. Seems a bit pricey. As an owner of an EX07 I’m not overly impressed with the quality of ZD’s stuff - I’ve broken the EX07 more times than my 3 Arrma rigs put together! And seeing as the roller is the same price as the Arrma Kraton EXB roller (£420 at the moment in the UK) I think the Arrma is still the better choice at the moment.

The surpass hobby 150a esc in the mx07 is a new upgrade rocket v2. That one from the ex07 Was a surpass hobby kk 150a.

I really enjoyed your review and test. It appears to be a lot fun. I was shocked that those wheel nuts stayed on. I have tried that style and they work themselves off. When I see the price for this 8S monster truck It's not too bad comparatively, but how fast do the parts arrive? With some of the Black Friday sales going on right now you can buy some good cars/trucks at a reduced price. The Arrma Fireteam is only 6S, but it's $399.99. Keep up the good work.
I have the rtr 1:7 hoonicorn and it’s a pretty good car so far, suspension decent, has held up well and drives well. A few loose screws here and there’s only issue is shocks lose oil very very slowly. The esc is still holding up well -mtho it does get warm, junked the batteries as cells went bad after a few runs. Anyhow, this truck is running $800+ shipped to USA as an RTR with the hobbywing. That shipping, $180. Aren’t ocean going rates falling fast? I’d gladly it take the slow boat for cheap shipping vs $180… at that price I’d look elsewhere…
Great vid, as usual. Excuse my ignorance but I am just returning to RC stuff lol. I mean, I last bought an RC car from Beatties, bag n all when I was a kid lol. Which actually brings me to my question, I am looking at getting maybe a MJX hyper go, I hear you mention Bangood and AliExpress a lot but I have never used either before and my concern is obviously delivery, any advice? The noise you hear is the drivetrain it's most likely that axles my mini Maxx does the same thing

The motor is also 8S compatible.
For a rtr RC to come with a 4292 motor is pretty unheard of if you look at the arrmas I think they come with the 4274 motors? Ftx also have the same for their super forza gt. This things a beast! Touch too expensive though imo

The problem with big trucks is you need big room. Tbh I find the Tracer too small and toy like, just so you know where I'm coming from. But I own one for when I feel like it, and several other model,some highly modified. Does bigger equal better? I guess up to a point! but 1/7? not so sure. However really enjoyed your review, great quality as ever - and if anyone would persuade me to buy a truck it's you Phil, so cheers! 👍🍺🇬🇧
