Had a motorcycle, or motorbike for my English friends lol, accident putting me in a bad way physically, mentally financially. Kev you and your constant positivity have kept me going. we had been eyeing the Ryft for the longest time, but it just seems to fit a very specific use case with less all around fun as other crawlers and bashers. we always appreciate you spending your time and money helping us to figure out how to spend ours. :)

My win currently goes to the Ryft. It’s not as good of a crawler but leaping boulder to boulder with lots of tumble wumbles in the mix is more fun to watch. And the car is an exact replica of real rock bouncers and they just look awesome. I want a real one.

That rock bouncer has had lots of love, I can see you really like it, it seems cool.
The Ryft is one of my favorite RC of all time. I used to really love my Bomber but it just didn't handle high speed that well without a ton off mods. The Ryft with the right motor does it all. I didn't even bother building the 2 speed because I heard it has issues. A single speed with a killer sensored setup is pretty rock solid. Also this thing eats low powered servos, just like the Bomber and Wraith did before it. 2.2 need beefy servos.
Challange: try to make the fastest brushed rc car. Dual motors and esc are alowed
I feel like people are too quick to overlook brushed stuff too there are some really compact high torque brushed motors out there

@@turkeyboyjh1i feel like brushed motors are better for crawlers, the throttle is very predictable and not sporadic like brushless.
@@jaredchampagne2752 a mid to high kv brushless with low gears is much smoother and much better for crawling than a brushed
The ftx ravine is the same as the redcat danchee ridgerock. They’re great crawlers
500 dollars is crazy for tires

hi kevin, great video! love the ryft. i built a kit version. i burned the spectrum servo before i got it to shift high low during the bench test. i got a power hd tr4 servo that fits the trx-4 and a servo hgorn kit for the axial scx 10 2 . hope this helps that servo is cramed in tight and the horn splines are weird to fit anything else

@@RCMannYesMateHow old is he? He looks pretty young to have that good of hand/eye coordination! My oldest boy put a hole in their play set "house" part with the 2wd Traxxas Stampede with an Integy roll cage on it. He was all throttle no steer!
@@FastSS02 he’s only 4 dude but he loves his RC and has mastered the hand eye coordination. He’s amazing with a crawler and a Xmaxx 😂

Yeah, I'm happy with mine, I spent the same amount $$$ as well though. Treal round trip, 38/13 front and rear diffs with lockers. Locked all Diffs, 15 tooth pinion and a Castle Mamba ESC motor Combo 2400. Can go slow and fast. USD Stickies on beadlocks to put the cherry on top. The only thing plastic that's left on mine is the roll cage, ESC and Weight Box.

Have a ryft as well and it has lately been my favorite trail bash crawler! Running a sensored system and two speed so low gear actually works well for crawling but also high gear isn’t going to blow the tires off either

I actually really like my Ryft. I put in a Castle Mamba X 6s system in it but I never run it on 6s. 4S at the most and that still gets stupid fast. About 40mph. Anyway, I changed the pinion an spur to give it better low speed control and for the most part, i have no cogging. I take in on what I call Hike and Crawl with some friends and people In my community and I does very well as a crawler.

hay kev. you need to start over with a RBX10 kit, Gray. and start by dying the chassis with Rit Dye. You could customize the paint scheme, and make it unique. dipping it in several angles and colors, and with patients it would look kewl. Have Fun.

Kevin I saw some almost all of ur vids and you sometimes say that the rc cars ur making the vid on is pretty durable but when i buy the same one i still some how manage to break it in like 30 seconds

The thing with those they are really meant to be put in front of a hill and go up it that’s it the geometry of the links are meant for vertical impact it’s a purpose built rc a lot of people try to use it the wrong way, it’s not meant to go slow and it’s not meant to go that fast despite the 4s capabilities. They are to high from the factory I drilled the centre of the lower shock perch out so the perch sat on the ball end part of the shock
My injora rock buggy would do all the ryft can and it cost 150 aud
5:15 the only way to get up that to to get all your speed before the hill and slow down as you go up the hill so all weight of the car gets forced against the rock.
