well everybody except the Contessa...I mean how else do you explain the all out war in chapter 5? Contessa has a degree in Criminal Psychology meaning she's no fool Contessa knew full well what kind of person Neyla was and what she was capable of which when you think about it makes Neyla all the more intimidating

Yeah everything that the klaww gang and arpeggio worked for just suddenly turned around to neyla's betrayal but it wasn't built up properly.

Here’s an idea: What if in Sly 5 Sly meets Clockwerk in Ancient Egypt before he turns his body into a machine. Getting to understand his motivations, before his hatred grew. Where they have a temporary truce to defeat a bigger threat. I don’t know something like this to explore the mind of clockwerk before he became what he is today. Maybe have Sly cooper do something to him so grave that he created the monster inside Clockwerk.
Clockwerk needs a backstory, there's just so many mysteries to him!
That's a really good idea, but the part about Sly doing something to Clockwerk to make him hate the Coopers would be a bootstrap paradox and wouldn't work. It would have to be something Slytenkhamen did.
That would definitely be interesting. In a way it would almost explain why Clockwerk didn’t kill Sly as a kid. Without Sly the adult there would be no Clockwerk. No Clockwerk means a lot would be changed, including any Coopers he killed being alive. A very complex paradox happens.
@@mordecaipriestess8536 But it is a paradox, which is why it's not possible. If Sly was the one to make Clockwerk hate the Coopers, that means someone had to have done it before Sly existed, IE Slytenkhamen. That's a bootstrap paradox.
And we already know why Clockwerk didn't kill Sly as a kid. During his boss fight in the first game, he said he "wanted to show the world that without your precious book, the Cooper line was nothing." His goal was to be the best and only master thief and the Coopers were standing in the way of that. But I agree that it has to go deeper than that. That much hatred for a rival thieving clan doesn't come out of the blue.
@@ShadowRaccoon54 It depends what kind of time travel you are going for. Closed-loop time travel is when any change you make in the past fills in events that have happened already. For example in Jak 2, Jak helps his younger self go back to the past, and this couldn't have happened any other way, otherwise older Jak would have never arrived in the future to save haven city. If you've ever seen the movie "Predestination", that entire film is based on closed-loop time travel.
But Sanzaru Games made "Thieves in Time" open-loop time travel. Under that system, you are right that it wouldn't work. But just as a "what if", I think it would be cool if Sly had a hand in creating Clockwerk. Sly would have to come to grips that he created his own worst enemy, and that could lead to alot of interesting drama the Sly Cooper franchise has never tackled before. Maybe Clockwerk could be created because one of Sly's character flaws. Maybe one of Sly's villain's (like Dr. M for example) goes back in time to ruin Sly's legacy, and in the process he becomes Clockwerk, or plays a part in creating him.
Anyway, that was just some fun fan fiction. I'm glad there's a community out there that talks about the Sly franchise. Sly doesn't get as much love as other games like Mario or Legend of Zelda. It's good know there's still people who care about the series.

She and arpeggio must have met at THAT university! They became close friends, came up with this whole plan, at some point the homework ring comes in and she ends up in interpole. They used this to their advantage, recruited the members to the kalw gang even from inside interpole with the contessa, all the while neyla was planning to backstab her “friend” who probably trusted her enough to tell her the secret of the parts!
Yeah this is something I'd imagine! You have to wonder, why would she agree to join Interpol after assuming befriending Arpeggio?
I would've changed the last chapter to instead of Clock-La being a thing, once Neyla enters Clockwerks body, Clockwerk lives again. He is the Hate Chip since it's fueled by dark magic. It's not a stretch to think his soul essence is housed within the chip as well. Slowly over the course of the chapter, Clockwerk takes control and Neyla realizes that she dun goofed and tries helping the gang from the inside once again, just like she did at the start of the game. Make her character compelling as opposed to a psychopath that does things just because.
Neyla lowkey one of the smartest villains in any series of games or movies.
She is interesting no doubt!

I still liked Neyla and thought she was a good Rival/Villain in Sly 2. I Wish SHE had been the one to team up with La Paradox instead of Penelope. Neyla was a thief too and she could have stolen Bentley's Plans for the Time Machine. Just seems like waisted potential.

Its funny, I always laugh at people talking about the fountain of youth, or just trying to live forever, it's not meant for us to live forever, for there's a appointed time for a man to born and a appointed time for a man to die.
As people die everyday, souls are being born everyday.
How you choose to spend the amount of time you have on this earth, everyday, and where you go is up to you.
What's most important is how you made people "feel" when you were here, and how you treated others, will be one of most important things people will remember about you.

You know, that's the reason of why I always felt kinda sorry for Neyla. Her whole growing up poor background is sad, but she decided to survive by basically backstabbing and manipulating everyone. But by doing that, she never had true friends nor family.
And she just became obsessed with living forever.
She was very "smart" for a lot of (mostly bad) things. But she wasn't very smart to do what was right in the end.
She's one of those villains that I have always wanted to see redeemed.

Neyla is selfish she doesn't care for anyone but herself, that's why she backstabs everyone. She lies, she doesn't form real connections with people she just uses them. thats why she agreed for the date, just to play with Sly, because she's a siren, a mantis, a cold hearted narcissist.
She wants to be immortal because she can't grasp the idea of her own death, because she is the most important thing for herself. She doesn't care if she watches others die of old age while she is immortal, she would actually find it pleasant because she would feel better, like a god, because she would not die. She would not decay. Sshe would kill everyone in her way, sell her own mother just to benefit HERSELF. And immortality for only herself was a perfect option. She doesn't care becasue she doesn't have loved ones except for herself. And even if she had a father who said she wasn't suppose to despise him? Maybe he litterally sold her so she swore revange? We'll never know unless someone actualy publishes the early cut of the story.
THAT'S why she wants to be immortal, to have full control, to beat the one thing than no one can escape from, but SHE can becase she is just that smart and cunning (and full of herself). She is pulling the strongs, toying with everyone, feels like a puppet master all her life. And beeing immortal would give her control over the very last thing ordinary people do not - death.
And fear of death is a very natural thing, as you said as a poor girl in FREAKING INDIA she probably saw death on daily basis and might have been terryfied by that. By the idea of her own vincibility, beeing vunerable to something. Now she has the POWER over not only peoples actions and feelings (like with her manipulation) but now even death, that's what she felt.
Yeah I'd definitely imagine her thinking such things!

Oh, wow that really makes way more sense. I don't see really what Sony gained from taking away from Neyla's story ark. It totally would have added up more and made way more sense in a long shot if they had originally kept some sort of background of Rajan and Neyla, their father/daughter background. Good job VTN! x'3

Now that I look at Rajan (who fortunately went straight in the epilogue of Sly 2: Band of Thieves) and Neyla's stripes, I can see what Sucker Punch Productions was trying to do, but they had to simplify the story.

I'm not so certain how much of this scrapped story would've added since it does add some insight to Neyla but doesn't exactly explain why it was she betrayed Arpeggio and desired to fuse with clockwerk. At least with Arpeggio his reason was fairly clear since he desired to have a better body due to the fact he was a parrot and didn't grow all the much. As for Neyla, maybe if there was more insight for her character it may have helped but again that may be a stretch besides the obvious "immortality" angle.
It wouldn't have been my initial guess that Neyla was a tigress since I thought she could've been maybe a snow leopard, maybe it was because of her fur being purple and magenta, depending on the scene. Carmelita may not have liked how Neyla sort of breezed her way through Interpol and had to work with her since the Contessa assigned Neyla with Carmelita.
2:47 I really can't see Rajan talking about Clockwerk with such high regard and praise when it's clear he only saw Clockwerk's heart as a means to make his spice operation more lucrative, just like how the other members used their Clockwerk parts to further their solo schemes. What I could see happening is Neyla asking about the Clockwerk parts. Where did they come from, who did they belong to, etc. And if a theory in one of your other videos is correct, which I think all evidence points to it being so, Rajan is the founder of the Klaww Gang and Neyla would have met Arpeggio when he was recruited. Neyla would have had an acquaintance-like relationship with the flightless parrot and have conversations with him on multiple occasions. And Neyla being the way she is would have become fond of Arpeggio and his articulate mind and way of looking at things. Fast forward to the Klaww Gang stealing the Clockwerk parts and dividing them up. Arpeggio confides in Neyla about how her father and the rest of the Klaww Gang are squandering the parts for their own personal gain instead of seeing them for what they really are. Arpeggio would be the one to tell Neyla about Clockwerk and his rivalry with the Cooper clan. This would slowly grow in Neyla as a desire to obtain the immortality that Arpeggio speaks so fondly of and covets for himself. So Neyla grows ever closer to Arpeggio, even going so far as to betray the rest of the Klaww Gang including her own father, to gain the parrot's trust and sweep his goal right out from under his beak when it's just in reach to take it for herself. Neyla is a character that has fended for herself on the streets as a small child with no remorse for how the people she uses gets hurt because that's how she learned to survive.
5:40 I actually never thought of that. In Carmelita's wiki, it says that she was the top of her class at Sleuth Academy, which is assumed to be a police academy. It usually takes 2 years to graduate from police academies and being the top of her class is no small feat. She was also promoted to Inspector shortly after getting hired on Interpol (with a little help from Sly.) So while Carmelita worked hard to achieve something she had strove for most of her life, Neyla just fell into her profession, that she had no ambitions for, by being in the right place at the right time. You can take this as the equivalent of a college graduate finally finding a job in their field after slaving away minimum wage job after minimum wage job while the boss' kid gets hired immediately after graduating high school.
7:37 I think Neyla agreed to the date with Sly to keep him happy. Make sure he wasn't getting suspicious, that's all. She even expresses in Episode 8 in the cutscene with her, Sly and Arpeggio, that she despised having to "carry the pathetic gang through the first set of heists." And that she was "overjoyed when Arpeggio let me toss you in jail."
8:19 I think letting the Cooper Gang steal the Clockwerk parts from the other Klaww Gang members was Arpeggio's idea. She wanted to go after the parts for herself from the get-go, but Arpeggio thought it best for the feat to be accomplished by a third party as to not arouse suspicion among themselves. Neyla reluctantly agreed, put the Cooper gang on the scent as Sly puts it, and tossed them away like yesterday's trash the first chance she got.
One big question that goes unanswered is how does Neyla canonically get involved with the Klaww Gang? The father/daughter relationship with Rajan was cut, which is how she would have originally gotten involved. In the final story, she's just an Interpol Constable with an unfortunate beginning. Carmelita mentions allowing Neyla to join her on the stakeout in the prologue of the game "as a favor to the Contessa." So I'm thinking that Neyla, being recruited into Interpol for being able to 'get inside the head of the criminal element' was assigned to the Contessa, a renowned criminal psychologist within Interpol, as a protege. Neyla would then learn about the Klaww Gang through The Contessa's ties to them and also become a secret member with The Contessa. Throughout the game, we can see Neyla closely working with The Contessa up until the point Neyla betrays her and gets her arrested, all to keep herself from being discovered as another secret member of the Klaww Gang. Yet another person to fall victim to Neyla's survival instincts instilled in her from the way she lived as a child.
Really interesting points you make! If Neyla was trying to make Sly ''happy'', why didn't she simply answer yes to that date the moment Sly popped the question? I wonder. If Contessa knew of Neyla's ties with the Klaww, wouldn't you think that Contessa would out her out? Getting arrested wasn't part of the plan.
@@VtnVivi Maybe Neyla really did need to think about her answer. Weighing the advantages and consequences, which she ultimately decided to agree just to keep the facade going for the time being. And you're right, I think Neyla would have definitely outed Neyla after her betrayal, but she didn't have any evidence for Neyla's ties to the Klaww Gang. And she wouldn't be able to get it while in prison. The Klaww Gang cut their ties with Contessa as soon as the cuffs were around her claws, same as Dimitri and Rajan.
Oh, that made me realize that Rajan also didn't say anything when Contessa arrested him. I guess they wanted to keep their group's activity a secret no matter what. Or the game's story just didn't have room for all that.

This really speaks to Carmelita's sense of perception. She has a skill at falling short at catching Sly, and she could never get through her head in her blind ambition of catching Sly during his dealings with The Fiendish Five that he was not (currently) the threat when he was trying to stop each criminal himself. She's very much led by her emotions on both sides of the spectrum (Business & Pleasure), so i'm surprised (and also not surprised) that she didn't out Constable Neyla earlier on. Neyla's past is already telling, I wonder if she was brought on to spite her after the events of Sly 1.
But The idea of Constable Neyla being Rajan's daughter opens up a whole new can of worms about a potential mother figure, so maybe they didnt have the time or the budget or the need for it like they didn't have a need for the proposed "Monaco" level for Dimitri. Sad for us.

Pretty sure it was just the game devs telling the players "You beat the game, go play outside now." Especially sense it was a post credit message. It's like waiting for the end of the credits for a movie to see if there's a post credit scene and the character breaking the 4th wall by asking the audience "Why are you still here? The movie's over." Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a perfect example of this. And the first Deadpool movie even breaks the 4th wall even further by reenacting that exact post credit scene at the end of it.

for me if i was to go into and do a remake of Sly 2 band of thieves i would of had it that Arpeggio' is the great grandson of Clockwerk and would rebuild him and have him become one with him to carry on his work and also have it that Neyla as his foster daughter and train her to get into the police for info also have it when Arpeggio enters clockwerk would have it with him and Neyla as they could become one known as Arpeyla as a fused minds together

There were all kinds of lost secrets behind the characters that Sucker Punch never revealed, like who was Rajan’s wife, or who was Sly’s mother, so much to learn.

If and when a gaming company decides to do a remaster/reboot of the Sly Cooper Trilogy, like the one that did the Spyro Reignited Trilogy or the Ratchet and Clank reboot, then I want the stories to be rewritten so that some loose ends storywise would be fixed.

And Neyla's overall story needs to be rewritten the MOST! Vivi here made a LOT of great points and notes on the Sly Games, even on characters like Neyla! Her just suddenly wanting immortality AND to double cross the others around her, especially Arpeggio, there's no real reasons other than to get what she wants. Of course we all know that she's "Only looking out for herself", but immortality AND being fused with a robotic owl?
She almost sounds like Le Paradox in Thieves in Time, except one wants to backstab others in order to gain immortality and power, the other wants to change time to GET power, riches and fame.
What's her main goal here? It's like she's got a vendetta against the world because she grew up alone and poor, and yet we have NO clear answers about her. At least with Le Paradox, we know WHY he wants to change time: To get rid of the Cooper Clan because of his family line being poor 'noobs' as thieves.
With Neyla, we just get this backstory about how she was recruited into Interpol after they busted her illegal homework ring. And that's it. If Sly 2's plot was rewritten, we'd get an even better plot AND Neyla's character story would make MUCH more sense!
VTNVIVI What if in sly 5 or the tv show it has clockwerk shown to be a deity worshipped by the Egyptians and when sly/sly's ancestor made him out to be a fake god he vowed a vengeance on the cooper name and had an armour suit crafted and thus became the beginning of clockwerk
I mean they'd make more sense than just simple ''jealousy''.

The Sly Cooper TV Show should make a few story arcs from the old series including Neyla. Maybe there should be a reference or call back of Neyla sometime in Sly 5 and hinting that she'll return in the Sly Cooper Reboot Game and TV Show or a plot twist in Sly 5 where Neyla hired Le Paradox to erase the Cooper History.
I wouldn't be surprised if Neyla survived, what if she popped back up in the middle of nowhere?

I honestly always thought she was a cat but her stripes and clothing do make sense to be related to Rajan, especially the backstabbing after defeating Rajan. It is too bad her life ends. I would have thought the police pulls her out of the clockwerk body and arrest her as she had no reason to be absorbed yet by the metal suit because the process of immortality wasn't finished.
I take it at that point her body was completely digitised.
Someone robs a bank and the bank hires them for security and later the bank money is missing I wonder what could of happened here.
It doesn't make any more sense for her to know the stories of Clockwerk from Rajan than just knowing about him because she's a cop. What does Rajan being her father have to do with her knowing who Clockwerk was? Interpol knows _all_ of this information, evidenced by Carmelita's involvement in SCaTTR and how she and Neyla were assigned to guard the parts in 2, and she's well aware of his immortality due to working with Arpeggio.
That being said, in my personal headcanon she and Rajan are indeed related and it doesn't come up because Rajan doesn't know and Neyla just doesn't care. I just don't think that an element that may as well be arbitrary to the story as a whole would have much bearing on Neyla's power hungry ambitions.
Sure she knew of Clockwerk via Interpol, but her father could've told her other things.

How would have Rajan be able to tell Neyla about Clockwerk without earlier knowledge of him? How in the world would there be any prior knowledge in anywhere outside of the Cooper Family and their Thievius Raccoonus about him, without direct contact with him? The only option would have been that other people over the years, outside of the Cooper Family, started to collect information on him, which somehow lead to Arpegio. And I'm pretty sure it was Arpegio who explained to Neyla and all Klaw Gang members who Clockwerk was and what his body was capable of.
I'd imagine Rajan heard rumors and ''made up'' stories, and was fascinated by it. With her cut backstory, yeah I believe either Arpeggio told Neyla about Clockwerk or she learned from Interpol.

I think she betrayed Sly that early on because despite his blind trust in her, he wanted to destroy the Clockwerk parts and might've tried to destroy the parts he had before getting them all, which was a risk to Arpeggio's plan.
She agreed to the 'date' in Bollywood as a foreshadow on how in the same mission, she said 'no one likes their affections toyed with.'
i guess them being related would sort of make sense minus the part where she arrests him....

Hay I know this won't be a very popular opinion but. What if Neyla actually survived the destruction of the Clockwork parts?
We never saw her corpse at the end of the game. What if Neyla intentionally drew the gang's attention towards the hate chip so that she could prepare a getaway in the smoke as Clockwork's parts began to decay. No one would've suspected a thing as Carmelita would've then turned her attention on the Cooper gang in order to arrest them for all of their crimes immediately afterwards.
Neyla however in the crash, sustained large injuries all over as she still hadn't integrated with Clockwork's systems just yet, as she only had a few minutes with Clockwork's body. She would've been scared, lost an eye, and even her tail.
In the game, despite clearly being defeated, Neyla still thought it was necessary to bring up having Clockwork's hate chip to survive off of. But does this really sound like a good strategy for survival. Letting your enemy know what can destroy you for good. I don't think so. This is why I it would be interesting if Neyla was misleading Sly and the gang one last time with the hate chip so she could disappear without anyone noticing her.
Neyla would then bide her time over the next couple of years recovering from that battle and plotting her revenge against Sly. However, upon learning that Sly had disappeared from history after the events of Sly 4, Neyla would then go after the next best thing, Carmelita, and perhaps Carmelita and Sly's child.
If their was another game serving as a new spinoff the series, may it focus on Carmelita.
Like I said, this likely to be a vary unpopular idea but I still like it none the less.
I have a couple of questions 1st how did neyla and arpeggio meet? 2nd wouldn’t she have a bunch more info in the police force to know who is clockwork and what he has done like his feats in crime maybe that plus learning a lot more info that Interpol doesn’t know from arpeggio would influence her in a way? 3rd how long was she in Interpol? cause if she was with arpeggio before Interpol then she was just an inside man for him. If she knew about it before arpeggio she just worm her way for arpeggio to trust her just for the backstab at the end plus with all the info she had already from both Interpol and knowing about the claw gang and fiendish 5 arpeggio and the cooper gang ??? ....... hope I am making sense
1. I take it Arpeggio and Neyla simply stumbled upon one another. Arpeggio could've known of her history and took that to try and persuade her. Arpeggio thought Neyla would simply be hired to make money.

3. You make a good point here. I always imagined she joined Arpeggio after joining Interpol. If she did join Arpeggio prior to Interpol, you you start wondering WHY she even joined Interpol in the first place....Was it to lower suspicion and give her more ''power''?
Nela is a cool character that I enjoyed to get to know since I played the game. Sadly I didn't know that she was homeless and alone since she was a child. To my possibility she must be orphaned just like Sly and his friends for a long time. But she never had any friends in general to experience of being a role model or a family member to any one she likes. I know being a low life sucks because we live in a low budget city or town with less population or other problems like being in a gang inflated neighborhood with a lot of crime activities and death rates of each person. I'm surprised that Nela went to a university to do something with her life. But I do not understand on how she didn't get kicked out due to the fact that she used the mystic ring to use people to do her homework because that count as plagiarism in college and university rule regulations to my opinion.😕 Instead, the people put her in Interpol with ease without her graduating from the university that she was in. That's just plan dumb.😒 I know what the requirement to be a police officer or an interpol officer. I know the game is fictional but put in real life texters will make more sense for the fans. As for Clock-La, Nela must've got the immortal story from Arpeggio ever since she was with him from the very start just like the other Klaww gang members before they got arrested heard the same thing from the meeting that he set up. Nela wanted to see or feel to what being immortal is like just like how Clockwork did in is 100 years of living doing crime and murdering people in his wake just as he did with Sly's family without mercy or will because of his hatetred in his chip and heart. That was Nela feeling all along in that body.
Anyway that's my opinion and theory of her in the game. I need to know how do u even control clockwork body and is it possible if u can get out of his body without like being infused or something. Can u make a possible video about that ViVi?

@@VtnVivi What can I say I like to make a point. I've been a gamer for a long time so I know these things. The story always got me every time but it's ok to get confused afterwards at the end. If Nela was Rajian daughter she would avenge him by all mean since what the cooper gang did to him and use Clockworks body to finish them off for good in my opinion. Now that is a good story to put in the game to show off family remorse of someone u care about. I hope to look forward to your next video ViVi.😇
Neyla was infused into Clockwerk's body, which means she lost her old body and can't separate herself from it. Sly even says "You may have a new body, Neyla..." in the last job when he lands on her wing.

What could have been a cool storyline would be if neyla and carmelita were like sisters or best friends for years and then once she shows her villainous side in the third episode and captures sly, murray, and carmelita they have a scene where carmelita and neyla are alone and talk about why neyla became a member of the klaww gang

@@VtnVivi It would have to rewrite the beginning and probably most of the missions seen as neyla is more acquainted with the law but, I think it would be cool bringing in heart break moment and, at the end defeating clockla there could be a bigger motivation and more emotion for carmelita to destroy her (even though there is).
vtnvivi I just came up with some new questions after giving it some thought.
1:Why did the Guru not speak in a language the gang could easily understand when they met him in sly 3 episode 2/ eg English or ask the gang to help him learn the English way of speaking/ communicating?
2:Did Penelope create her black knight armor along with the bigger one which she us against sly in his part of their boss battle prior to the start of Sly 4, or after she joined la paradox, but still before sly 4 episode 4?
3:wha new animal would you like to see be made into new characters? for me anythings but, frogs and toads as I have ranidaphbia
4:what type of landscape would you like to see in future sly games, I would like to see futuristic designs of places like new york, England, Russia,japan, U.S.A. California.
5:what ne bosses will we see besides Penelope returning probably?
