These new models not only look sick but are super powerful. With that said, I’ve got an M1 Max MacBook Pro and it still holding its power after three years and a half; I’d upgrade to this new generation of chips if money was no object whatsoever.
Hello. I recently moved to France from Japan, and I’m currently not working. It’s been 8 years since I last bought a MacBook, but I’m thinking of getting one soon. What do you think would be the best fit for me? Here are my needs: • Photo and video editing (both at an intermediate level) • Administrative tasks and daily use • Playing Death Stranding smoothly Thanks in advance for your advice!
Does the nano texture display affect sharpness? Especially for text? I'm not concerned with color reproduction, it's not important to me. But text sharpness is, I have a Studio Display for my M1 MBP Pro, but when I'm out and about, the glare can be annoying on certain places, but I would deal with that rather than take a hit on text sharpness.
Hi, great video. I am a casual user with my most intensive use being excel. I currently have an M1 2020 MBP base model and am considering getting the new M4 base model as my M1 is slightly slowing down but still works fine. Is it worth the $1600? I also get a $400 trade in value for my M1
Great unboxing video bro! I'm really excited about the new MacBook Pro M4. The Nano Texture display looks amazing, and the performance improvements seem impressive. I can't wait to see your full review!
I don’t understand why Canadian TH-camrs always list USD prices only. It’s almost like they don’t want people to know they are actually based in Canada
Ig my biggest concern is the nano texture display, I will have to check it out personally when they're available in stores. As I plan to use it for heavy video editing and photography editing, the screen is an important aspect. I have a FullHD monitor IPS rn.
Do you feel like the blacks are washed out on the nano texture display? And will you stick with the nano texture over the regular one, I heard some concerns over easier scratching on the nano
I think it is as good as it gets for a matte display. I’ve used screen protectors etc in the past and you usually get a bit of RGB in areas. Nothing beats a standard display when it comes to deep blacks, but I had the same concerns as you and after seeing it will stick with nano texture personally.
@@JustinTsei went into a apple store last week as I was skeptical and the nano texture on a mac display blew my mind. So I went for it. It's so reassuring to see the positive reviews as I don't recieve mine until the 22nd!

I am using windows laptop. I am planning to buy a laptop. .Can you suggest which one will be the best Macbook or Windows for Data Science? And I need a lot of GPU Power because of Computer Vision
Hi Justin! Thanks for this review! I am between an 14 inch M4 pro chip with 14/20, 48 ram 2 tb.. OR an M4 MAX chip with 14/32, 36 ram and 2 tb for long form video editing. I recently bought and returned the M3 max on a 14 inch because it was starting to get hot already… I’m wondering if the M4 chips have the same heating issues and if getting an M4 pro chip with more ram or a MAX chip with extra memory bandwidth & GPU is better when it comes to editing? Thank you!! ☺️🙏🏼
You might try going for a 16", they dissipate more heat than the 14" and I think have bigger fans. I traded in my 14" M3 Max for the 16" M4 Max and I don't see it ever getting hot, even under heavy workloads.
@ thanks! Unfortunately, that computer is too big for me to physically move around like I need to otherwise I would consider it! That’s why I am thinking of an M4 Pro chip so we’ll see 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I heard you shouldn’t get the max on a 14 because of thermals you won’t be able to use the full power. True or false? I don’t really want the 16 inch but also don’t want to just waste money maxing out a 14
The 16” at M4 Max will perform better from a thermal standpoint at peak power - with that being said it depends what you do and what size preference you have. I do my primary editing at home, but usually look for a max memory option and have a strong preference of a 14” display over 16” from a productivity standpoint. Another thing to note here is, the base M4 here is very very powerful, more than most will need, and a great value this year with the 16GB base.
As someone who works for Apple Retail; I would imagine probably not. If you have to ask if you need an M4 Max chip, you likely don’t need it. M3 Max is an absolute beast and will be for many, many years. Only real reason to upgrade is if you need the extra bit of graphics performance (which, to be fair, is a big jump), TB5, NT display or any of the smaller updates. Understand why you would want to though ;)
Hey Justin, the M4 MacBook Pro unboxing was slick! You’ve got such a great eye for detail-love how you cover all the setup essentials too. Would you be open to chatting about how we could handle some brand partnerships for you? That way, you get more time for these awesome deep dives!

This MacBook would be very tempting to upgrade to from my m1Max if it wasn't for recent redesign rumors.

How many CPU and GPU cores will I need with an M4 Pro chip for 3D animations?

Absolutely!
