Love this Fares! Clearly I’m a Frugal Miamian with access to heated condo pool, ocean, and bay all free. I swim a mile daily with $90 Lands End ladies suit and $50 goggles for fitness and mental health. You say the LA Fitness pool is too hot, but my 86 degree outdoor condo pool is too cool in winter for me HAHAHA but true.
My paddles and fins have lasted 3 years so far. Women’s suits are more expensive and these need replaced more frequently. Great rates for swim memberships at the cities community centres and pools. 25 m pools. Go 2 to 3 times a week. Some communities have reduced rates for lower incomes.
A lot of county’s have aquatic centers, where if your a resident you pay a small fee each time and are usually very big pools and a lot of lanes. Love the content thank you!
Where I am, a trip to the aquatic centre is $4 per day. 3 times a week, 50 weeks a year equals $600. 8 months out of the year, there are no free pools, but if you used the free pools in the summer, I guess you'd use them 33 weeks out of the year... ~$400 per year. A $30/month gym with a pool? Where's that? The local YMCA is $60 a month.

I calculate less than $500 per year for 2 swim days per week and 2 Masters swims per year. My Aquatic Center and YMCA memberships are free, because I'm a part time adult lifeguard.
I'm based in Amsterdam. I have 4 to 5 instructor led classes per week. Cost 150€ / month. And entry to the public swimming hours are around €7 per hour. 25m competition pools 2m deep.
Once you pay for the plane ticket to Maui, the public pools on Maui are FREE and amazing. I swam at the Kihei aquatic center, it has like 14 lanes, wasn't crowded, and the water was nice and cold. Gorgeous views
Actual tech suit for women…$600.00 range. I wonder if Olympians are given these by Tyr, or Arena or Speedo for each competition they do, just for the advertising 🤷🏻♀️.
Dunno about USA but in Europe and especially here in Italy I have never heard of such thing as a "free swimming pool" or "open hours", probably the only one would be if you are staying at an hotel and then you have free access to the hotel's pool. Also if you are frugal I would avoid jammers and go with briefs that are also the best budget/hyrodinamicity
Everything is more expensive in Australia. I am mainly an economic swimmer. Annual memberships over AU$1,000 per year but I can attend squads or any other classes on offer. This membership is on the “lower” end Annual memberships of council pools around our area. Money invested in swimming is much better than money paying for health problems later in life.
It should be mentioned that that "solid swimsuit" is usually closer to $50 for women.
thats the same for men though... i usually spend 50-75€ on my training jammers...
Crazy shirt 😂

As a 16 year old club swimmer no other type of person knows the pain of throwing out a completely used tech suit you had to pay your own money for
Prof has opened a "pharmacy" and then saved us cost of living, a great deal! Live to swim.

Other sports cost more than swimming!
All this is worth it because it is an investment in your health!

Economical swimmer here. My biggest cost is the pool which costs me £310 or $400 per year.
