OK, I'm going to turn into the Joker if I read another backseat comment on how you should play the Evil Pac-Man shotgun game.🤣 So fine, let's do the deep dive all you boring pedants apparently want! FIRST ROUND: 1 LIVE, 2 BLANKS So the way I was thinking about it here was: Well, I have a 2-out-of-3 chance of getting a blank rather than a live round. And since I'm TWICE as likely to get a blank, then I should shoot myself. Because if I choose to shoot the Dealer and get my (likely) blank, then the gun transfers to him and it's now a coin flip whether I live or die. I'd rather not give the coin flip shot to the Dealer. Personally, I think this was fine logic considering I was thinking "on the fly". Unfortunately, in this video the first shot was a live round more often than not - which is just bad luck. However, it's actually better to aim at the Dealer first in this scenario, because I SHOULD have been thinking about it in terms of win conditions. For example - there's only 1 live round. So which chamber is it in? The first, the second or the third? Well, if you aim at the Dealer - then you WIN if it's in the 1st or the 3rd chamber, and you ONLY lose if it's in the 2nd. And if you aim at yourself, then you LOSE if it's in the 1st chamber or the 3rd (assuming you shoot the Dealer in the 2nd). So looking at it from this way, it's always better to aim at the Dealer. I'll be honest, though. I don't think most of you who are backseating know that. I think you just think "ATTACK HIM! SHOOT HIM HIT HIM SHOOT HIM WITH THE BULLET HIT HIM WITH IT" 😆 SECOND ROUND: 3 LIVES, 2 BLANKS This is a much more dangerous round. Same number of blanks, but +2 Live rounds. I'll admit, I played this one very recklessly. I didn't do a great job of verbalizing it, but basically what I was trying to do was take the first shot on myself, and then if it was a blank, then I had a VERY high chance (75%) of hitting the Dealer on the 2nd shot. However, you have a 60% chance to shoot the Dealer on the first shot, so... it's best to aim at the Dealer for the first shot. I knew this, but I thought I would just roll the dice anyway. The part that surprised me was that every single time I tried this, there was a round in the first shot and I ended up shooting myself in back-to-back-to-back attempts, which I found really outrageous. But yeah, for the record, you aim it at the Dealer here too. Tbh, you should always just aim it at the Dealer and never aim it at yourself. If you're a COWARD, anyway! 😉What can I say, I like to live life on the edge! THIRD ROUND: ? Yeah so in this round, you basically just play based on the items you have and never aim it at yourself unless you have the magnifying glass and can waste a blank. But even then, it might be better to use the beer to discharge it and aim at the Dealer on the next mystery shot. TL, DR: Always aim it at the Dealer no matter what* *except if you have used the magnifying glass and are 100% sure it's a blank Glad we cleared that up! Are we allowed to have any chaotic FUN now, or do we have to all be robotic calculators that make the (pushes up glasses) most optimal decisions to achieve success...? 🤓 John
27:48 he wasn't supposed to 😂. I think it was a bug in the AI, because usually he doesn't do that. In fact, usually the AI is pretty damn smart in this game, to an extent anyways. But every once in a while something like that happens where it's like: "how did you manage to fuck up that badly, it was so obvious!" Lmao

this is the unluckiest buckshot roulette i have ever seen 😂 genuinely felt like watching old comedy movies where the main guy always screws himself but never manages to get the other
It wasn't all getting fucked by the RNG. Every time he got to 3 live, 2 blank, he kept shooting himself when there was a 60% chance of it being a live round.
I love how everyone who plays this game’s first reaction after busting the door down is to immediately start bouncing to the music. It’s like a universal thing 😂
Its because the magnifying glass is to check whats currently in the chamber so you know what move to make and whether or not to saw for more damage. Beer is for racking the shotgun and moving to the next shell in the tube.
I saw one where the dealer checked before shooting themselves with a live round. On on hand it was dumb but on the other it was like well..at least you know the game isnt gonna cheat you!
It's a known bug in the Buckshot community. If he checks and sees a blank then ejects it with beer, he doesn't realize the shell changed and thinks the blank is still there so rapid dismantling of his skull often ensues.
@@trevorhaddox6884It's funny when it does that. Check the shell, beer and rack out a dud, then roll the dice only to end up Cobaining itself.😂 The best is when it does so when it's on sudden death health!
There's a know "bug" when the dealer uses a magnifying glass followed by a beer can, where they will eject the shell but their AI still thinks that's the next shell in the gun, so if they originally saw a blank they will always try to shoot themselves, and if they saw a live shell they will always try to shoot the player, in most cases this ends up benefiting the player since they often shoot themselves with a live one or waste a turn shooting you with a blank
ManlyBadassHero's Dealer had the best final round I've seen so far, best described by "BanditZRaver" in the comments: "Are you ready?" Smokes two Cigs, Drinks 3 Beers, and Offs himself, rewards you a Million bucks and the Shotgun with an Uber ride home. I gotta say, I wasn't ready for that.

Re: the AI mistake you pointed out, he actually uses the magnifying glass, THEN the beer, to eject the shell he saw. I was so excited when I discovered this game recently because I was like "No way John hasn't played this yet" then I went and looked and he hadn't. I was so dissapointed. Then I wake up today and here it is. John never lets us down.
If you want to play more rounds of this against more opponents, different enemies and have more items, I cannot recommend enough that you play Inscryption fully. Granted, that game is less of a gamble and more about calculation, but in a very very fun way. But I am sure you have gotten so many recommendations to play that already haha. Really interesting to see someone approach this so differently! That means it's a safer bet to shoot the dealer. But, the start of the round is also the highest initial probability (once a live round is fired this changes but your behavior will also change depending on who took the hit) of coming up with a blank (40%), which is what I think John was saying in the video. If that first shot is a blank, the next has only a 25% chance of being a blank. So, if the risk pays off, you would have a 75% chance of a live round on your next turn, like John said in one of his comments. He was taking a bit of risk to maximize the probability of his next turn being a live round. And we were rewarded with some Looney Tunes gun shenanigans, so wasn't it worth it?
Damn, i held off of watching all of the videos on this game, i think this was a great one to start with, because poor John just starts out with absolutely terrible luck! I think its a cool little detail that the gun shakes when you pick it up

What a delightful game. I can't remember offhand because I came back to this video a few hours after watching, but does the dev have any other games under their belt? The art direction and atmosphere are SO good.
Did not even think of the RE7 21 DLC when I watched Gab play this but could totally see it! And agreed that is probably one of the best DLCs, I think most of the DLC from RE7 is pretty stellar (the story DLCs were actually the weaker ones)
i'm sorry but the dealer knowingly shooting himself in the face after checking made me laugh so hard lmao this was really fun tho! the atmosphere was so odd and creepy, I would definitely love if this developer did more with it. I'd be so down for that! the restricted movement and the artstyle really contributed to that shady, backroom dealings kind of vibe
Hey John, idk how much you read comments but I’d really like to see you play Blasphemous. Idk how much you like platformers either but I feel like the theme and (what I hear of) the story might be right up your alley. I refuse to watch anyone else’s playthroughs recently LOL

John’s rng is something else 😂
This makes me want to see you play Inscryption all the way through
thanks for the no ads jon💗
No matter how many times I see someone play this game, I always read it as ‘backshot roulette’
This was interesting lol - glad you won.
Endless mode: enter "double or nothing mode" by taking the pills in the bathroom.
What a delightful game. I can't remember offhand because I came back to this video a few hours after watching, but does the dev have any other games under their belt? The art direction and atmosphere are SO good.
Did not even think of the RE7 21 DLC when I watched Gab play this but could totally see it! And agreed that is probably one of the best DLCs, I think most of the DLC from RE7 is pretty stellar (the story DLCs were actually the weaker ones)
i'm sorry but the dealer knowingly shooting himself in the face after checking made me laugh so hard lmao
this was really fun tho! the atmosphere was so odd and creepy, I would definitely love if this developer did more with it. I'd be so down for that! the restricted movement and the artstyle really contributed to that shady, backroom dealings kind of vibe
Yaaaas finally! You're playing it!
JOHN'S PLAYING BUCKSHOT ROULETTE LETS GOOOOOOOOO
I was away for a while, kinda surprising to see this man without a beard :v
I KNEW John was gonna try to think logically about a luck game lol
Hey John, idk how much you read comments but I’d really like to see you play Blasphemous. Idk how much you like platformers either but I feel like the theme and (what I hear of) the story might be right up your alley. I refuse to watch anyone else’s playthroughs recently LOL
Does anyone else find the dealer adorable
Someone probably mentioned this, but there is also a double or nothing update to the game if you want to try that too
I don't know how u got through this but hey a wins a win.
Really cool game!
I burst in to true belly laughter after jhon shot himself so much and then when he finally pointed it at the dealer he got the blank and THEN the dealer got luck and shot him. Hilarious
LOVE this game?!?!? Mix of inscryption and kakegurui somehow. I really dig it, wish it was on steam!
