Well its an older bike so chances are the suspension and springs are clapped. That could be why its shorter because I'm pretty sure stock height is the same as your rmz.

The dislikes you have stated are things that are part of the "Yamaha Experience"......as I responded to one of your earlier posts, the Yams are an acquired taste. The qualities you've mentioned are characteristics that have been with the bikes for some time. Part of how Yamahas handle and feel can be traced clear back to the '70's when Yamaha began to make money and "buy" Husqvarna test riders and racers. The guys testing the bikes were used to the handling characteristics of the old Husqvarnas and steered the Yam engineers into getting the production bikes to handle like what they were used to riding. Stable at speed? Yup. Strong motors? Yup. Need to anticipate setting up for corners? Yup. There have been some departures from those handling quirks, especially in the 125 two-stroke YZ's. For me, it would always take me more time to set up a Yamaha than other bikes to get it to handle the way I liked. It was almost as if the parts were all good but they didn't like being together. Seeing that I was blasting thru the desert ar warp speeds, I could tolerate the Yams better than a lot of guys the raced on the track or in the woods. Squeeze EZ Rado! Tom

A 450 is never going to be real nimble on tight trails. That’s what a 250 is for.

I don't own a wr, but my friend do and have owned a bunch. From what they tell me the suspension is notoriously soft and ca do with a bit harder springs and divergent valving. That may also be why the bike is hitting stuff on its belly.

There are always some things that will piss us off eve a new bike has its idiosyncrasies. We just make provision for or avoid certain things. The things you mentioned are normal. I had bikes that others couldnt ride but i could. So there you have it!

I agree on every aspect. I had a 450 and was impossible to pick where to go.. just rammed everything like you said.. its indestructible.. so now I changed for a 2 stroke yz250x and its like riding a bicycle, its super light, you can turn wherever you want to go.. use it for enduro, hard enduro and single track..
