    BTW Question , so I got a wr450 supermoto recently like days ago, (2009) and noticed the rear fender where the CDI goes was cut off ,and the CDI/ecu was just ziptied to the frame was going to get a new fender to replace to put the ecu then thought maybe it was cut due to the size of the rear wheel/tire do you mod this or does the rear sumo wheel not effect the fender in the area?

    • @glitchingvrgaming
      @glitchingvrgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      right on, congrats!! the rear fender mounts all the same as the dirt setup on my end. wheel/tire size shouldn't affect the fender at all! let's see a picture of your ride!! 😎🤙

    how often do you check your valves / change piston / change oil etc? for street usage ofc

    • @OleMisss
      @OleMisss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Believe it or not but my 2012 WR450 got to almost 16k miles, 80% street 20% trails before needing a rebuild. Check valves every few thousand miles and i changed the oil every 1-2k miles depending on how i used it. Cleaned the air filter after every trail ride, or every 1k street miles. Really depends on how you use the bike. If you ride it extremely hard then I’d go more of a mx maintenance route. But for soft/medium street usage you don’t have to do much. Not sure about the carb WRs but the FI ones are tanks. Also I’m by no means an expert but this general routine worked for me and others. Hope you get one.

    Just subbed! I’m thinking about getting one, how often should I change the oil if I ride it 1 hour a week?

    • @glitchingvrgaming
      @glitchingvrgaming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Better late than never right? Haha.... Treat it like any other motorcycle. The manual may say to change at a higher frequency, but this is due to the rugged terrain and abuse the manufacturer expects it to get. Changing oil and an oil filter is super easy on a WR450F. Takes just 10-15 minutes. I would do it on average, once per month riding an hour per week.

    • @OleMisss
      @OleMisss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@glitchingvrgamingi did about 1-2k miles per oil change unless i exclusively was riding off road and high rpms/limiter. Then maybe 500 miles or so lol. These FI WR450s are absolute tanks though. Cleaned the air filter too after trail rides but maybe every 1k miles if only using it on street. Pretty simple maintenance. Some go overboard while some do the bare minimum. The Yamaha will take it regardless.

    Good stuff! I was thinking about purchasing this bike in the future. Is it a 6 speed or wide-ratio 5 speed?

    • @glitchingvrgaming
      @glitchingvrgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5-speed! Sorry for the delayed reply. It's a great bike, just invest in having another set of sprockets, and she'll run 80mph comfortably. 😎

    Wouod you recommend this as a first bike for someone.. or should i stick to some like. Drz400. I just iove the look of these wr450s... Also the KTMs and husky 501/701

    • @glitchingvrgaming
      @glitchingvrgaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Something like a DRZ400 is going to be a lot more “forgiving”. What I mean by that is, on the WR450F it’s a lot more “snappy”, if you slip up on the clutch you could find yourself in a sketchy wheelie quite easy. The WR450F is probably the lightest in comparison to those KTMs. Power to weight ratio is crazy on it. I started out on an old Honda 350 dual sport, and honestly you have so much fun regardless of the size of motor.
      Is it manageable as a first bike? Yea maybe, but it’s also like someone starting on a 1000 sport bike. BUT keep in mind it’s tall and you need to ease into the power, it’s easy to think you have it under control when you don’t. I’d recommend starting on something smaller, get SUPER comfortable ripping around on it, then you have loads of knowledge upgrading to a bigger bike. I started on a smaller bike, and wouldn’t want it any other way. Maybe look into getting a 250 dirt bike and convert it to street legal, maybe a WR250? Lots of options.
      Good luck, and ride safe! 🤙

      250...you need a 250 and then drill. Drill your riding skills

    • @OleMisss
      @OleMisss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GoldenGuardian32depends on if he wants to do more of the supermoto route or trail/track. For the woods or track then a 250 is ABSOLUTELY the way to go to gain those skills and control but I personally learned on a WR450 and I don’t regret it for the type of riding I was doing at the time, which was mainly street use and wheelies. But once I got into trail & track riding I definitely saw the advantage of what a 250 is capable in that environment.

    can you use this bike for daily commute between 20-30 km/day ?

    • @glitchingvrgaming
      @glitchingvrgaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can it be done? Yes. Want to? Probably not for me personally. That will all depend on comfort and weather conditions. You can get add-ons like an aftermarket seat for added comfort. I think daily commuting 5 city miles each way would be a more realistic obtainable commute distance for me. Beyond a 25 minute ride the seat starts to get uncomfortable in my personal experience. Then again, there may be better aftermarket seats out there!
