    I just upgraded from a DRZ400 to a 2009 WR450F. Loooving the weight savings! 20kgs (45lbs) makes a HUGE difference in handling as well as breaking. Also has more power than the DRZ making for fantastic weight-to-power ratio. Gonna do the mods next!

  • @DJbradchad
    @DJbradchad ปีที่แล้ว

    I ride a 05 WR, same upgrades plus a few smaller ones such as bars and pro circuit exhaust. This thing rips, way more scary and powerful than other 450's. would highly recommend for track/ dual sport and enduro 450 riders!

    Hi Rado! I just wanted to give you a tip to be faster and to get less tired.
    The tip is that you DONT need to use the clutch to shift, the only purpose of the clutch in dirt bikes is to control the power, not to shift. DIRT BIKES ARE MADE TO BE SHIFTED WITHOUT CLUTCH. I learned that from a pro racer. So I think you should try it. It makes you faster and your hands get less tired. Hope you use this trick!

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      thanks for the tip Philippe. Sometimes I shift without it when I need to shift fast, specially when downshifting. Majority of the times I pull the clutch in just a bit, one finger all the time.. most clutch use is to control the bike in the turns and up-down hills.. I also got the tip from pro racer, Sebastian Tortelli, maybe you know him, he is french guy. He said to use it lightly when shifting.. My opinion is that its safer to use it a bit when you shift in high rmp, in low rpm its fine to skip it. Thats how I do it, might not be the greatest way but so far worked for me fine. Thanks again for contribution man!

      Me I find 2006/20th of December unfortunately, but I'm the second hand & the first owner wasn't a little boy,so he give me everything original:like second plastics, exhaust,back rear foot brake petal Accel & original same petal for gears &,YZF plastics on it, so perfect all new & even the YAMAHA stickers was on after so many years.But 1,5year I was searching& I was 100% lucky for this bike I hope you all find a bike like this one with zero problems so far 3 years now;)

    liking all ur vids , I've had my 07 wr450 for over a year now and just learning as to what mods have been done on it. it appears to already have AIS removed, snorkel air box, and aftermarket exhaust . however not completely certain that mods such as grey-wire, O-ring or throttle stop screw have been done. I'd imagine the jetting kit would be installed due to the aftermarket exhaust it has. guy I bought from said previous owner did "some" work on it. it runs good currently but aside from dismantling it how can I tell ?
    ps; not trying to give away ur location but I live in San Diego , are you North of SD ? ( looks very familiar. lastly: someone mention a YZ exhaust cam mod' have you looked into this yet ? thx and appreciate you bro

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can know about throttle stop by the movement you have on your throttle. compare it to some other bikes, or check my video it shows throttle opening with small throttle stop. As for the oring, you need to open it to see. I know for AF bikes you need to remove the shock to get to the carburetor..
      I live in temecula are, you know the area well ;)

    • @sambumanglag6432
      @sambumanglag6432 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rado' I did see ur video and mine does appear to have an equal amount of throttle range to yours, also forgot to mention that I did install a quick-turn throttle tube from G2 a few weeks ago which also helped. I'll check if grey wire was disconnected ( that should be a definite clue as to whether throttle stop screw was changed ) hopefully . good to know we are neighbors :)

    Rado, running the bike on the lean side due to cold weather actualy increases power.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a little bit of hesitation when the bike runs too lean. I had to play with needle, got richer one and the hesitation disappeared. I guess if you run little bit too rich then cold weather will increase power, but when you are spot on or little bit on lean side then cold weather would cause that lean hesitation.. hope that makes sense.

  • @64maxpower
    @64maxpower 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    do the yz cam You won't regret it. It feels like it blew it's nose with the new cam. Just revs and breathes better. Any detuning of a yz450 motor just makes it run worse

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's only exhaust cam that needs to be swapped right?

    • @64maxpower
      @64maxpower 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dirt N Iron . Yes Sir, just the exhaust cam. I think the yz 03 to 05 cam are the same. I used a 03. I could tell from the second I started the motor and revved it. Not a day/night thing like the WR to YZ pipe, but enough to know it's going to breath right. I loved my WR power . I hated how heavy that bike felt. Never came to terms with it. I used a Rekluse EAxle to pull the offset in a little. That made a huge difference. But you are out West where that's not what you are needing. I ride east coast trails

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks man, sounds good. I am so happy how the bike runs right now, it would be interesting to see how much would the cam improve it. appreciate the info!

    Will it being lean damage the engine?

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lean bike runs hotter than normal, so its easier to overheat the bike. I would not recommend running it lean

    • @outdoormayhem7456
      @outdoormayhem7456 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dirt N Iron but what if you check the spark plug without adjusting it and it looks good for not too lean and not too rich? Then it just wouldn’t need any adjustments for after mods

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i read the plug but also read the bike, how it runs and sounds, does it backfire, etc..

    The one real down side to FI bikes. Any power mods require a dyno tune and power commander. That and not being able to bump start or kick start on a dead battery. Oh well pros and cons for both I guess.

      Mx bikes are fuel injected without a battery

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they have capacitor to store power for fuel infection when starting.. no battery needed

    • @xterrential
      @xterrential 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I had that. But I like the fact that I dont have to kickstart the bike all of the time. Again pros and cons. Carbs are fun to work on tho.

      @timfagan816 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xterrential my fi bike can be bump started, or kick started all day long. I don't have a battery, lol. I lost a battery at my job for a 2018 crf250 and it cost $1,090.00 New Zealand for a new battery. ($789.19 usd) i think I would rather kick or bump my bike, than pay out that much money every time something goes wrong with my battery.

    sitting wheelie easy,infact time like stone a small bump /hump on the road ,use the front rebound lift and throttle .or tap front brake little to compress front fork and as its rebounding gas lift,all im teaching you use the front suspension,clutchup your a bit lazy but shift your weight front to back clutchup,anyways you will get it practice!
