▬ ABOUT THIS MATTRESS VIDEO ▬
Memory Foam vs Pillow Top Mattress (Which Type Of Bed Is Best?). In this video, JD who is a Certified Sleep Science Coach compares pillow top beds vs memory foam mattresses. There are a ton of online mattresses to choose from these days so it can be difficult to choose which type is right for you. JD talks about the primary differences between the two types of bed in a box mattresses, but really, the major difference comes down to feel. Some people love the conforming feel of memory foam, while others prefer the pillow top feel. Regardless, you can find foam and hybrid beds that incorporate both types of materials. Thanks for watching this pillow top mattress reviews and memory foam mattress reviews guide. Hopefully it helps you decide whether to go with a pillow top or hybrid mattress based on your sleep preferences.

Prefer pillowtop for its soft cloud feeling! As you mentioned memory foam can feel too dense and I noticed it takes awhile to respond making hard to move. I think memory foam runs bit hotter than preferred too.

I think I would prefer a memory foam feel. I’ve had traditional mattresses but if I had a choice I’d pick the memory foam. Thanks for the review!

I have only had pillow top coiled matresses filled with a foam material. Because of that I think I prefer that more than a regular foam bed. The only qualm I have is that over the years I’ve found that the bed has gotten worn out and sinks into some places. I’d probably get a pillow to with a more durable filling like latex to help reduce the lumpiness
I agree with you JD that I don’t prefer to feel like I’m sinking into /stuck in a bed

I currently have a pillow top bed but I didn’t like the feel so I put a memory foam topper on and I like it so much more now so I think that means I like memory foam.

Good info JD. Conforming memory foam is a huge improvement over the old Tempurpedic rubber eraser offerings. Pillowtops got popular as kind of a luxury mattress but it seems companies may be going back to mattresses that can be flipped? I like a good pillowtop but would still take an Intellibed Nightfall, pillowtop or not!

I wish I had seen this video before I bought my pillow top a few years back. It was good for a few years then started sagging. I bought a good box springs with it. I have degenerative disc disease in my back and neck. Also have fibromalagy as well. Plus arthritis.

Giveaway: my wife and I both are heavy people and recently purchased the king size Casper Select 12" while it was on sale for $650 from Costco. About 2 weeks in so far and no real complaints other than I feel I am sleeping a bit on the warm side.
We had the Zinus 12" Green Tea Memory Foam before the Casper and it lasted only about 2 years for us before it started to sag and another year before the sag made it almost unusable. The disappointing part is that their warranty does not cover sagging unless it hits a specified depth. In our spare bedroom we have the Zinus 12" Gel Memory Foam and it feels far more sturdy than the Green Tea memory foam mattress. We've had that one for almost as long with no signs of degrading, but it only gets used once or twice a week when we have guests or when one of us snores too loud for the other. Both were extremely cheap (green tea was a Cyber Monday deal at $275 for a king and gel was a random sale for $250 for a queen), but the Green Tea memory foam definitely became a case of "you get what you pay for."

I prefer a pillowtop feel instead of dense memory foam. Im a hot sleeper, who also suffers arthritic joints. The best fit for me would be a Winkbed. Faster more responsive memory foam would work best for me.

After sleeping on a memory foam mattress for 4 years, I cannot wait to buy a pillow top mattress. Memory foam makes me uncomfortable and it's like sleeping on a furnace. Not to mention that most memory foam beds are filled with fiberglass.

I woke up with pain in shoulder, hip and back so I traded it in and picked up a nectar. While not as bad, I am still walking up with pain in shoulder and hip. Bottom line, I am still on the hunt for that perfect for me matress. Leaning toward a hybrid myself.
