Eurotop vs Pillowtop Mattress (what's the difference?)

After all these years, people still wonder: What is a the difference between a Eurotop and a Pillowtop mattress? Sometimes people also split up the words and write it out as Euro Top and Pillow Top.
I show different models of pillowtop mattresses and eurotop versions to highlight the difference between them.

It's not about the euro or pillow top its about the layering of material. The thinner it is the cheaper and the thicker it is the better and cost will be more.

Glad you explained that, so I had an actual pillow top. Someone told me I had the old style pillow top but really theirs was a Euro top

Thank you for the excellent question! It entirely depends on one's preference. The main idea of this video was to show that most people think of soft when they hear the word pillowtop, but that is not always reality. Ultimately the two are a cosmetic form of how the top layers are attached.

@@sleepbargains I have a eurotop mattress that is worn out and i can feel every single spring inside when i lay on it after only 2 years of having it. Would this be less likely to happen with a pillow top? Or is it more to do with thickness and density

@@kky.x It has more to do with the make up of the individual mattress. Not all Eurotops are of the same quality, and the same goes for pillowtops. If you can feel the springs after 2 years, you may have a mattress that doesn't have the best quality of cushioning materials or a thick enough layer of them (i.e. foams). Most quality mattress also use a tougher protective layer between the springs and the foams to help prevent any poking through of springs. Hope that helps you some! Thx

Thank you for answering my question. I just purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper Elkins II Plush Mattress. It does not state in the model whether it is a Eurotop or Pillowtop. Does that mean it is a Pillowtop?

Plush is an entirely different category. Generally speaking (assuming traditional coils here) the styles are Firm, Plush, Eurotop, Pillowtop, and Boxtop.
