Excellent presentation of an awesome dry sounding cannon! Thank you! Reading through the comments I’m actually amused at the negative comments from painfully obvious non serious players. Part of the learning experience is playing the instrument anywhere and everywhere throughout your typical day in either loud or quiet conditions but no matter what, still playing to learn the subtle differences in the volume and tone-in so much as putting one’s ear right up against the upper bout to hear and feel the sounds it will make. That “hole” is called a “port” and ports are crafted into some of the most expensive instruments on the planet. Now we don’t need to hold it up to our ear lol! Cheers!

This is the best looking of the Generation series and sounds great. I would be highly tempted by this if i was in the market. I almost picked up the g-writer when it came out but there wasn't a local gibson dealer and I went with an AD-17 because I could try beforehand

Totally agreed, I’m in love with this pickguard! If you get a chance to play it, do it! It’s so effortless!

Gig bags are so hard to keep a guitar up to 50% gumidity in the winter , I will have to try one in the store, its to hard for me to get a good idea if it off this demo,(humidity *** )

Seems like the things that needed to be changed, like the headstock angle and the angle of the string break, we’re not, while seemingly unimportant things like the pickguard shape, the fret markers, and that strange hole in the side were added for some sort of surface level appeal. I love my Gibson electrics, but if I want a dreadnought, I’m sticking with the real deal, Martin D28.

While I agree with you sort of I think the only thing they need to change is their attitude and purpose of making guitars. Instead of using the logo as a cash bait they should go back to the roots and make quality instruments again, spend more time to love their products and their customers instead of making mediocre built/quality controlled guitars. These guitars cannot live up the Gibson name, they are nice instruments for sure as long as you don't check what is inside but thanks to Driftwood Guitars we already know that too. Sad to see how they are falling. I love Gibson and their true heritage that's why it is even more hurt to see how much they are loosing their way.

Would have thought (just by the way it looks)was going to sound like a dread knot

Unplugged, it sound’s more dreadnought-ish, but plugged in is much brighter.

Wow people are really hard on this guitar. I’ve always wanted a Gibson but there prices are ridiculous. What a Hummingbird is roughly $5000. Who has that kind of money? But still I sure would love to have one.

Never mind that it's ugly as sin itself! The pick-guard is ugly! The 'hole' on the side is UGLY! The position markers are UGLY! UGH!

yeah I think it's a nice looking guitar. People are paying too much attention to the G-45 teardown and the lesser generation series quality. The G-Writer and G-Bird are fantastic sounding guitars. I played the G-Bird at Sweetwater and was just amazed at the deep, rich, and clean sound. The bass does not come through in the videos... it's very deep.

Gibson needs to drop the acoustic guitar line. Martin rules that world

Alot of production models, at g.center have bad Neck angles..
Alot of d15m..and it's a lot of dough for normal playing setups, as the action usually is way way too high...I'll pass on martin...even tho I enjoy the tone on them..
