I didn't think it was possible for Guillaume to play without pedals! When I heard the J-35 I immediately liked it better. However, just like having both a Strat and a Les Paul, I can see why one could have both the 45 and the 35 for different feel in a song.
Just checked out the faded hummingbird and j45 at the local shop. They sound ok. They feel ok. They don’t look special. At 2400 the J45 isn’t egregious, but at 3400 the ‘bird is. It just doesn’t look like a 3400 dollar axe.
Love both of the first two, second ones were nice but imo the tones were not as good as the first ones. Also like the song at the end, as always great video.
I love open pore finishes on cheap guitars like Yamaha FG, since it is very noticeable that the thinner finish of FG800M really opens up the sound compared to FG800. However, For this price? they're unacceptable. Yeah, they sound great, but that should be granted (sadly not true in the real world) if you are spending over 2000 on a guitar.

Go buy an original Hummingbird from about 40 to 50 years ago and you'll be pay over double the price lol
Affordable? Three grand? Well yeah, I suppose it's only a few month's worth of gas bills in the UK at the moment.

J-35 and J-45 sounded boxy…missing bottom and highs. 😮
any 50's j45 is warm... and has snap... these look cheap.
