My question is why the companies gotta make it so complicated and cants just add connectors on each end
It's pretty obvious why. Led strips are made from one huge roll and then cut in either 5m or less common 10m and it would require alot of precise manual labor instead
Because they know majority won’t figure it out and just buy another box of strips more money for them if we don’t figure it out.

Thank you for creating this bit where you will have to cut the plastic top piece to slide in the copper. That saved me from tearing my hair out.
Side Tip: I used duct tape to hold the opposite ends of the wall strip while I patted the sticky side down to make it stay on its own down the wall. I was doing this solo without anyone to help hold down the other ends 😅

Mind hecking blown the endless conundrum of making custom led strips has been thoroughly defeated.
There are also some clips that have sharp pins that go through the copper and the rubber on top. They make a perfect connection and you don't need to prepare the LED strip.

@@smp3745power supply can only work so many lights,l have over 30 meters so have a power supply on each end.
Wish I would of seen this earlier I have them in my kitchen but never new how to connect the other half of them and have no idea we’re they are now. So now I’m doing them months later in my room and tryna figure it out so there not wasted 😅

Some LED strips have a maximum lengh so make sure you have a decent power supply
Any idea why it happens when connected that partial lights only works and not the full connected strip?
do not forget that there is a maximum length you can use with DC current, at 12V stip it is at near 14 meters.
What about amperes ?
@@Bandedegarantie they are wired in series, meaning the current will be the same for al leds. Voltage drops in series, not the current

@@TheSoldercreeper that is not true all LED's at LED stripes are wired parallel, this is why you reach at about 14 meters the point where it is getting dangerous because the wirering can not handle over more than this distance the current and will burn.
can you please elaborate? after my calculations i think I'd need around 12.5 metres of the strips but all ive seen is 5m and 10m available online, dk what im supposed to do

Keep in mind that the power adapter wont be able to support such long strips. The light will fade out towards the end.

This is indeed very helpfull but i still have a question, i did cut the cable because it was too hard to connect and i did manage to make it work again but i hvae to put presire, after what i did cut it i did not apply any wormth to melt it wgere it is supposed to be, what am i supposed to do? 🥲🥲

As long as the led lights are like the ones featured in this video ( amzn.to/3sbBsY3 ) , you can cut them any length, per instructions in this video.

I did that but the extended led strip connection only turns on blue and does change colors according to the main led strips . Can anyone help ?

To be on the safe side, keep it the same brand that you bought.

If your led strip is longer than 5 meters. (that's why is sales in rolls of 5 meters usually) IT WILL DIE. And really soon. I tried it thinking it'll be fine. That is NOT. Less than month and random leds overheats and it is dead permanently. (there is other way to connect them but it worth fuss)
Not completely any length. Why don't you talk about the voltage drop over long length having low blue light and ending up in another color at the end?
