I was concerned about using led strips with diffusers because I rent my apartment and was mainly considering putting them around the ceiling by the crown molding (via 3M tape); but I never thought of the baseboard idea. Much less prone to falling down / coming out of place. I think I will give that a go! I also really like the couch idea for movies. Thanks a lot man!
Good ideas and very timely. I actually ordered those diffusers yesterday. Planning on putting some above my monitors on desk to get better lighting on video conference calls.
Snap this is incredible and such a well done video thank you! I love having led strips under the cabinets it’s perfect for cooking. I use a item called Luminoodle task and use the magnet to stick to the metal in the cabinets. I originally ordered it for camping but found that the natural white lighting is perfect for cooking. Then I just do my best to hide the wire and use the remote to turn it on
Didn't know they sold pre-made light diffusers so cheap! I was about ready to order Acrylic or Plexiglass and custom cut them to size, this will help a lot! ALSO LOVE LOVE LOVE the contact sensor thing for the closet. I NEED that in my life, NEED!!
I'm glad the light diffuser links were helpful! Yeah I'm still loving the automated lighting for my closet and I feel like I can finally see everything really well...definitely a need.
I used the 90 degree tracks that you recommend and you are 100% right Phillips hue is tight however work. It’s just a struggle to but the diffuser strip on.
I've been getting into LED/RGB lights in the beginning of 2020. I have almost filled my room up with them. I have been trying too be more creative with them, and this video shows that creativity. Really love them corner LEDs. Might have todo that myself.👍
I ran them all the way around the base board on my kitchen cabinets, Where you cant see the strip, just the reflect of the light off the floor. We leave them on all night ,every night. Cause someone is always getting up to use the bathroom, water, etc. We LOVE em.
I recently got some LED light strips for a project, I couldn't think of the Prototype on the top of my head so I did some fun little things with it and I added one on one frame of my loft bed
Hey Reed!! Amazon wanted me to let you know to keep posting cool videos about lights so I keep buying more stuff. lol! I love the ideas and your house always looks cool and your videos are top notch. Great ideas and thanks for feeding the light addiction.

Great job. I think LEDs facing outward on the mirror would look nicer, even with the diffused housing. Great vid! I recently put a vertical strip in a corner, but mounted onto a 20mm wide flat aluminium bar I had lying around, and faced it into the corner so its floating, about 20mm away from the wall. The light spills onto the corner and is diffused, just like in the your 2nd example with acoustic panels. I much prefer it this way compared to facing into the room where you can see the face of the chanel, the light spill is much nicer when bounced of walls in my opinion. Love your videos, thanks so mcuh for sharing!
I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for the ideas, information, and inspiration! I would really like to know just how you set up the under-the-couch lights to come on with the tv power. Do you have a video detailing that process? Thanks again.
For the light strips under the couch, do you find that they stick pretty well to the fabric of the couch? I'd like to do something similar but I don't want them falling off in a few weeks.
Most light strips come with 3M double-sided tape on the backside of the LEDs. They recommend you to clean the area very well, but if that doesn't work there's alternative tapes to help stick to your couch.
It does okay. I've had to add that double sided gorilla tape to the corner areas after it being up for a while and it's still holding it fine. Some people have told me they use staples to hold the light strips under the couch and I would think that would work very well.
