I remember renting this, me and my little Bro used to have rent night always on a Saturday we would rent 3 games from the local video shop as they were £1.20 per night with our combined pocket money we could get 3, they had loads there in fact nearly every single md ever made, what we used to do is get one of the old md games mags which had those special reserve ads in the back which listed all the md games for sale and we use to pick a game from that list that we each wanted to play and a lucky dip one, so we got a pen and put a blind dot on 1 game and that was the lucky dip game we would rent that night as well which turn out to be fatal fury, ah the memories, we played fatal fury late into Sunday morning, fun times, I particularly liked fatal fury that I rented it several times and brings back fond memories.

@Mario Wario (Android App Store) Although I could download the game, it wasn't compatible with newer devices. Instant crash. No game mode. No Intro. Crash. If I want to play these types of games, I would need to download emulators.
jaja no way. ff2 on the megadrive was really nasty on the graphics department wrong set of colors .. game play however is another story ... dont know why takara realese this version on the genesis in my opinion is a terrible game ..i prefer the first FF1 on the genesis at least the sprites was better looking and faster.. FF2 no dont why people says is better .. in compare to the snes ..

The Japanese console is called the Mega Drive, it has this game, so it was on the MD. This of course could be the emulator set to NTSC-U mode, making the game run at it's proper speed. That and since the uploaders are mostly from the UK, they call the Genesis the Mega Drive.
The first of the Fatal Fury lineage, and sadly, no version of this game is that great due to how stiff the game was. Starting with Fatal Fury 2 though, the series started hitting it's stride, and even the home versions were pretty good.
yes genesis has always been inferior to the snes in almost every single spec just check the review from the angry video game nerd, but sadly I dislike the beeping music on the genesis there are good things but mostly just bad if I'd play fatal fury it would be the genesis version cause nintendo didnt put any effort at all into this game.

Considering how bad World Heroes was, it didn't take much. This game by no means is great, though it did start a legacy, but it's actually playable.

So the PAL version is not optimised; everything, music included, just plays slower. Still I love it (as I do with the PAL speed for Sonic 1).
