It was 1992, I was 13 years old and my Dad had just bought a double-cassette album of songs of the late 50s and 60s. The cassettes hardly ever made it to the family stereo because they were always in my walkman. I would listen to these songs over and over at night, imagining I was at a dance and a cute boy would ask me to dance. Hahaha. I was clearly born 20 years too late!
Well, my darling child, you were never born to late! There is always someone out there that will love and appreciate you more than you will ever know! Smile my child and look to your future , and your mate will come along!
Fantastic song writer, and singer, boy did he know how to hit those high notes!! So sad how he took he's own Life, but he will live on forever in the hearts of us that love his timeless songs, that helped us through our own relationships, therefore relating to those wonderful love story beat ballad songs, as if they were written for us.god bless you Del Shannon.RIP.🌹
Yep...The enhanced version sounds great !!! Who is still listening to this song in 2020 ? Most likely who will probably be still listening in 2021? Because Del Shannon's music is timeless !!!
Still listening to this beautiful song in 2024 at 72 yo! RIP Del and bless us baby boomers ❤and all those who create produce and enjoy this timeless music ❤🎉
Not only is this song 🎶 timeless but also ahead of its time because it had a bit of the Mersey beat when it was released. The British Invasion hadn’t happened yet and many British groups were influenced by this song. If your 72 like some commentors have expressed and feel like dancing 💃 then follow the advice of the “Gentry’s”, “Just Keeping On Dancing.” Great song 🎵 just…”Keep On Dancing!!!”💃 Also Keep…Rocking!!!
Yes he was. He should have been a bigger star than he was. Del Shannon did have a very good voice, but I think his huge hit "Runaway" more or less over-shadowed any of his other recordings. I really like him, especially with this song and "Hats Off To Larry"! Such a talented man! Thank you for the upload!
Usmale 49 "Hats Off To Larry" is a very great song. But I think that "Guild the Lily, Lily" shouldn't of been the B side to "Hats Off To Larry". Del probably could've had a hit song with it, but Del Shannon decided what songs were going to be released. It was also a great song since Max Crook also did great work with his Musitron.
An extremely talented musician who left us waaaaay to soon. Depression is a serious problem. Unfortunately for Del he paid the ultimate price. This song has always been my favorite. He will continue to be missed by many.Myself included.
I know this takes time & hard work, but sir---for those of us who grew up with this music, I say : " THANK-YOU !! " ----from all of us . -------------WolfSky9
Remember that era very well. My high school fondest memories. My friend Ray has a 1964 Olds with reverb in the back deck. There was FM radio ( one station) but when Del Shannon worked his magic that 64 Olds became an instant chick magnet! What a beautiful time to be alive! God bless you Del.and all my fellow baby boomers!
The song little towy flirt and it is a awesome and excellent song. It is a amazing and wonderful song and deserve to be a classic and beautiful song. I have added it to my playlist.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and the enhancement is out of this world. Listening to others, it doesn't even sound like the same song. Beautifully done. I am quite certain that at least half of the views on this video are mine. Thanks so very much.
If you aren't familiar with Peter and Gordon's achingly beautiful 'I Go to Pieces,' you owe it to yourself to give it a listen. This one song of Del's gives a whole new meaning to the word 'immortality.'
Wish we could of saved you Del, there's always something that could of been done, but as much as someone can do for another person if your heart is all in on what you did, only CHRIST could of stopped you, and I wish to GOD we had all prayed for you, and my words to you would of been to pray with all your heart soul mind and all your strength, to the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT, Amen
Kenn : my thanks to you one more time for all the great work you've done. As a guy who grew up in this era, I say from my heart : Thank-you. ------------------------Wolfsky9, 74 y/o
Thank you, Sirs, for the beautiful work you have done here. I am a musician/songwriter, and I just heard parts of this song I have never heard before. It has a whole new dimension to it.
Bob Babbitt on bass on this and most of Del’s hits. After his time recording with Shannon, he moved on to Motown becoming one of the legendary Funk Brothers crew then later thumping his bass lines for many other recording stars. Interesting how one of the most admired and recorded bass players in history started out backing Del Shannon.
@@jaybennett236 no way did hal play on little town flirt. Hal was busy in L.A in 62 it was a detroit area drummer where del recorded or someone from Michigan. I doubt the producers would fly Hal to Michigan for a one off single back then. Hal had enough work to keep him busy for the next ten years doing double and triple sessions a day
Kenn babe -- you did an amazing job with this. It should be THE version of the song. Del is still the center piece and not overwhelmed by the terrific enhancements you did. I knew Del as friend and he was a fantastically funny guy-- I was devastated when I go the phone call from Shirley the morning after his death. He had just sent me some tracks from what would be "Rock On" and at that time I did not see the depression but as it stands- it was his suicide note. He was just on the verge of a massive comeback-- but: that's life.
Del was a leader in the rock & roll movement. He will always be noted as a legendary writer and recording artist. One of the best and a tragic loss to the recording business !!

I'm finally back on-line Kenn. And your the first channel I check up on when I go on-line. Glad you just did another great enhancement. Love the timing. It was worth a week's wait.
I AGREE WITH ALL THE PRAISE FOR THIS REMIX, BUT WITH ONE EXCEPTION , AND THIS IS A PERSONAL CHOICE. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE THUMPING BASS ON THIS RECORD, ESPECIALLY WITH THE INTRO, WHICH SEEM'S TO HAVE BEEN TONED DOWN. MAYBE THAT'S THE PRICE FOR ALL THE EXTRAS IN THE BAND WIDTH ? BUT STILL GREAT, I LOVE BOTH.
I can only say what seemed normal back then as a teen and taken for granted I can honestly say I grew up during the greatest era of music , cars and prosperity. What is was replaced by decades later is terrible .........
Just another example of the great music that was out in the early 60's.To dance to this music was just plain BOSS.Ya I know how uncool that statement is but you just don't know what you missed!
I've got that Australian "Little Town Flirt" EP . I was in Perth WA in 1975, walked through a lane way past a pub and the side door was open, could hear this Del Shannon music and you could see Del singing on a small stage. See you have enhanced "Friday On My Mind" by the Easybeats. Any chance of doing their 3 big Aussie hits prior to Friday, "She's So Fine", "Wedding Ring", and "Sorry"?
One of my favoutite songs. When i was younger, I was tte guy that shot down the little town flirt. I took no pleasure in seeing her go down in flsmes.🔥

The 60's would not have been the same without Del, big deal on AM radio with a reverb in your back seat. Miss the drive in movies!

Love the added drum fills/rolls... well done !!!
Ya know, this song should be considered as the "Flagship Hit" for Del Shannon. It's the one song that can be played over and over again. Rock On.
Awesome job and an awesome song. Del Shannon had a lot of talent and a great voice.
Wow does this enhanced version sound great !!!!!! Love the drumming enhancement.
This is really great! I thank you so much for posting this.
Always loved Del Shannon. Great stuff.
Very interesting and good sounding enhancements of two of my favourite artists: Del Shannon and The Association. thank you very much!

Backing vocals are really nice in this version. Thanks. I've got the LP of Del's Greatest Hits. A lot of good songs there.
