Very nice. I’d for sure find an old fatshark or hobby king fpv system and gimbal. Do you have any issue with range with the receiver mounted in the electronics box?

Hi Jeff, that’s a good question, I do not know the exact range. The box is made of abs which would have a minimal effect on the transmitter signal. The antenna is mounted on the back wall, so any transmitter position from behind the mower should not present a problem. In any other transmitter position, the metal mounted on the box walls would affect signal strength.

@@giterbilt5146 Interesting, and thanks for the reply. When I’ve had an aircraft go down off field, I’ll see from telemetry it will start dropping frames. I was thinking it might be worthwhile to put the receiver on a mast, or perhaps use a receiver with satellites and mount them on each side of the machine.
I suppose each situation will be different and the thing to do would be test and upgrade. I am kind of concerned with you having system brownout kind of events. I’d like to find a dual channel speed control rated at maybe 100 amps/channel.

sickle mowing seems far more energy efficient - rotary mowers spend most of their energy pushing air - have you considered trying a battery hedge trimmer?

would like to hear of any issues youve found with your set up, i am thinking of doing similar

Hi Jan, I have own the hedge trimmer I used for many years. Using a battery powered hedge trimmer would be a more economical choice given it meets your cutting needs. Mine has a one purpose, cutting a single pass close to the edge of a pond. I am working on a battery powered string trimmer attachment for edging work in my yard.

@@janramonmartin To date no issues given the limited amount of use.

I got lawnmower honda 2 motors my1016, sabertooth 2x and struggling to find wheels to fit the electric motor hubs

I had the same problem. I searched online for hours and only found original wheel chair wheels. In the end I had to drill the bolt hole pattern myself using a rotary table on my milling machine. The wheels I used are no longer available at Harbor Freight. I was going to use go cart hubs before I found the wheels I used. Once you have acquired the wheels, take them and the motor to a machine shop and they can drill the correct hole pattern.
