Creamy velvety and bitter ( burnt sugar) always works. It’s always a great combo… like the pastel de nata, creamy and bitter burnt top. Yum yum !! Very continental. 🎉
I received a set of ramekins for my birthday a few months ago thinking I’d never be able to make creme brûlée. I also have some double cream powder which I hope will work as good as milk powder. So this weekend we are having a great dessert. It is our 49th wedding anniversary of our third marriage this weekend too.
Wow I love creme brûlée and yours sound delicious.. but I'm old school and prefer liquid caramel at the bottom of the dish 😋. I also love a crisp and crumbly biscuit, the kind that melts in your mouth, and I've been hanging on hoping for a recipe and tutorial. Any chance you can put one up on TH-cam please???? 😃
Let me guess.... 🤔 the ramekins are from Gu puddings 🤭 am I wrong? tempted to give this a shot! Paranoid that it would turn into a rubbery mess though 😬
I made creme brûlée in Oui yogurt jar once. When I torched the sugar the glass shattered. It may be possible to do it carefully, but there must be a different quality of glass.
@ I just add in the malted milk powder with the flour, baking powder and salt - i use 50 or so grams less flour and add back that same amount of malted milk powder. i’ve never tried reconstituting it first, but that might be an interesting experiment
And what if you’re lactose intolerant? I’ve never seen lactose free milk powder before. I don’t have a cows milk allergy so I can use lactose free dairy milk and cream.
Just a suggestion, a cinnamon roll flavored NY cookie (i.e. icing in the center) would be fantastic! Thanks for such great content :)
We would LOVE a cinnamon roll cookie 😍
What a great spin on a perennial favorite! I'm going to do this over the holidays. Thank you.
You’re very welcome! ❤

Love this! Do you please have a Brownie recipe that is just like in the restaurants, a bit fudgy, served hot with ice cream and not too sweet?

Full fat milk powder can be found at any south Asian grocery store. We use it mostly in our Asians sweets/desserts

Liquid caramel at the bottom of the dish is crème caramel, not crème brûlée... :)
Ahh yes of course haha. In that case I prefer creme caramel, most definitely 😀
What can I substitute Double Cream for as I can’t buy it here in Germany? 😢 It looks really great though, thx for the recipe!
schlagsahne
Cream with about 35% milk fat

Gu is going to send you so many now. Oh my lord.

Are the ramekins 150 ml or 180 ml or? 🤔
What kind of jar does jemma use? Can I find it on amazon?
If you are in the US, the Oui yogurt containers work well! They are a little smaller but pretty if you take the labels off

@biophile2 oh that's fair! I did it with flan and figured it'd be the same but that makes 100% sense!
can you toast malted milk powder? i have that on hand when i make chocolate chip cookies
How do you use it in the cookies? M curious as ive never tried it

Not a fan of vanilla so crème brula & egg custard tarts to me are flavourless unless with tones of nutmeg
Waiting as always
❤❤❤
I can only think of Little Britain when I hear bitty.

Crème brûlée is just so damn sexy. Delicious
are those cake on top are real or just decorations?
Well, they’ve been here since they made a book, like at least one year, so. 🤔🤗
