My experience has been that MT doesn’t seem to develop nearly the center of gravity awareness actual grappling does so going against a judoka always felt like a pretty uphill battle. Judo skills seem to transfer easier into MT than MT into Judo.

I've done it many times in real fights with no rules. Yes, the shoot comes fast and hard but that's when a stand-up person needs to be fast and strike in vulnerable areas and not grapple back with them but use a sprawl along with strikes to deal with the attack. It's all how a person trains. I don't train for sport but for my well-being.
