So this theory has been asked and suggested since I uploaded my first titanfall 2 theory. And finally after more than a year of analyzing and processing I've finally come up with a theory that might explain some things that are present in the ending of Titanfall 2.

Not wrong he did download a bit of his ai and for all we know they could have downloaded what they could from the helmet and mesh it with a new ai that had zero combat experience explaining the chassis they were building they merged data but that is my theory

This was probably said somewhere in the video, but in Effect and Cause, BT says "Pilot Cooper, I have downloaded some of my AI functions into your helmet in order to permit communication with you across time shifts." This means that part of BT's AI still remains inside of Jack's helmet.
In the level effect and cause, BT uploaded his AI into Jack's helmet so he could still talk to him when he time traveled.
If they rescue BT, I wonder what his reaction will be when he realizes Jack’s cheating on him with a new titan.
Probably replace that Titan with BT again or use both BT would understand why he would have a new Titan its not BTs fault he just did what he was meant to do protocol 3.

I'll be honest, it would be sick if the first mission of TF3 will be us searching for BT's core
They should make tf3's entire campaign looking for bt's core. And the new titan would be asking questions about the legion class

When BT died I was crying for 2 hours but I got used to it cos I restart it 12 times

There is a slight moment when BT sacrificed himself where a small object flies downwards could of BT ejected the data core to save himself and is lost in space it would make sense that he was lost in space the explosion COULD of launched him into space or he was destroyed during the explosion

To me it looks like his chassis, remember you are thrown miles away so it looks tiny but i think the moment it exploded he was ejected from the blast at a high speed, his chassis is completely destroyed but his data core may still be intact and functional to some degree, just my theroy
The fs 1041 can be seen on the last cutscene at the beacon when talking with Sarah
With the new legend having found vipers helmet and titan on the remains of typhon, i wouldn't doubt if bt's datacore survived, and we actually SEE BT'S arm in a picture on her profile on the apex site

God, there has legit never been a single player story campaign in ANY fps that got me as emotional and attached as Titanfall 2 did. Combine that with the best movement and gameplay, and you got the best FPS ever made.

I found that when BT and Cooper went into the rail-like thing in fold weapon, BT said he's sending rendezvous coordinates to Sarah for an extraction, and there's an "uploading" word on the HUD of Cooper. But after Sarah said coordinates received, the uploading didn't stop, and the connection below this uploading line is "not confirmed" (I played it in Chinese subtitle version so I don't know the exactly word of this). Maybe this means BT did uploaded at least part of himself into Cooper's helmet.
And if you watch the end closely, when BT falled into the core of fold weapon and they both exploded, there's a little piece of something flew out of the epicenter in the bottom-right direction, right before the shock wave went out.
It even says "rerouting link OS V18.723X" which I assume is the titan link being uploaded into the helmet...
Edit: The Helmet OS appears to be V18.723X as you can see while scanning the Ark in "Effect and cause"!

I have played through the campaign so many times and i have no idea how i did not notice that thing fly out before the explosion until reading this comment.

Wow your right! Something did come out during the explosion. You have a good eye and thats probably that bt launched out his datacore with the kit thing you get when you get to the part when you take out the knife and smart pistol kit box thing in the campaign.
if cooper heard the message at the end of the credits scene then we would know who was mrvns finest hours mrvn owner was because most likely cooper would go look for bt's data core

This gives me flashbacks and I started to cry when I saw the the ending rip BT-7274
There is a theory i had regarding FS-1041. I believe that FS-1041 was actually meant to be jack's titan when he passes training and becomes a pilot. (but of course his training was cut short so he did not get promoted to a pilot yet, eventually leading BT-7274 to be his titan) My evidence of this is when jack's training with Lastimosa is in progress. Right when you are in the open field with Lastimosa and BT, you soon call in your own titan which does not land before the simulation is cut short. If you look directly at the titan you just called in falling from the sky you can see the name tag reads: FS-1041. Another piece of evidence to support this is in "The Fold Weapon" mission where Sarah Briggs says: *"We have one last vanguard in the racks! I'm pulling it's datacore and preparing it for titanfall!"* and of course the titan you call in just happens to be FS-1041. What are the chances that one titan would be left? and that titan left is FS? maybe FS wasn't used yet because it did not belong to any of the other pilots? I believe the reason FS-1041 was the only one left because it did not have it's pilot, which would have been Jack, but Jack ended up having no choice but to link with BT-7274 instead. So i believe if the training did go well, and cooper became a pilot, he would have been assigned to FS-1041. *thank you for reading all of this*

If you look closely you can see something fly out of the ark right before it goes boom, and it is conveniently the size of a data core.

I was thinking this but there are two reasons:
There was no time. He wouldn't have been able to eject the SERE kit before having to detonate his core.
If BT had lost his data core (Giving it to Jack) he wouldn't be BT, and have no protocols (link with the pilot, uphold the mission, and protect the pilot), having no reason to expose his core and blow it up. He also wouldn't know to throw Jack, as he would not be the chassis's acting pilot.

5:29 I just noticed something, when BT disappears in the ark a fragment of something comes flying out, but it can't be from an explosion because moments later this of pieces flying out of BT come out,This thing shoots itself from the center to the bottom corner of the screen before the explosion so it could be BT's intelligence core
BT is my most loved character of 2017 (since that's when I bought the game) so I really hope he makes an appearance in Titanfall 3

When BT said "old paint: if you look up when you call your titan in the simulation with Captain tai latimosa (in the beginning of the game) you will see the same titan (FS-1041) you used in the simuilaton for the end of the game

I think it’s highly possible that BT is still alive because he can survive getting dropped from space with nothing to slow him down and the reason why he sent “Jack?” Instead of his coordinates is because he wanted to make sure the IMC didn’t capture his helmet and if he said “hello Jack” when you installed the data core than it might be what all titans say has a greeting which might mean BT has a new chassis.
I have a few theory’s on this. Firstly we know that the arc is a very intense power source that has a very noticeable effect on both time and space. The wrist mounted device that cooper had in cause and effect broke when the arc was fired, however he was saved from the explosion by the device (it seems) along with BT. Additionally jack was time traveling before he acquired the wrist device, along with all of the facility seemingly having aged rapidly in a short period.
This gives me the feeling that the Arc itself is what was causing the time distortions and not the wrist device, the wrist device merely cooperated with the arc in order to manipulate and control the effect in a rudimentary way (how he can only jump between 2 parallel points in time and not any other time)
So this leads to my first theory, which is that BT when colliding with the vote conducted a premature firing of the arc, which also simultaneously created a localized time distortion. The nature of this distortion is unknown however i think that something of this nature allowed a portion of BT to survive in a pocket in time similar to what jack experienced when the Arc was first fired.
On top of that BT may have been able to manipulate the arc using data collected during cause and effect which may have allowed him to manipulate the Arc with the explosion in order to both save cooper (by giving accurate pickup points) and to create the time distortion as previously mentioned.
As BT was able to send messages through time without issue by loading part of him into his Helmet already, BT would still be able to contact cooper without being in the same time period (wether that be in a time pocket like cooper experienced or if BT was catapulted forward or backwards in time)
As for BT only sending “Jack?” It may be 2 options in my mind. Firstly BT already suffered major damage, and regardless of wether he took damage during the Arc firing he will be severely damaged before and after. This would result in BT having very limited capabilities and he may not be able to send anything more then a small string of text.
Or it could simply be that the range that BT has for communication is simply limited and Jack at the time was too far for BT to get a reliable connection and as such would require more energy to send a smaller message reliably.
It could also be any mixture of both, additionally since he asked “Jack?” As a question it may be that BT is unable to verify the owner of said helmet due to either of the previously mentioned theory’s.
All in all, I don’t believe that BT is in his helmet and is instead in some way safe (possibly severely damaged) in the future, past, or a pocket dimension generated by the Arc and is able to send a short message, albeit limited for some reason, through time as he did in cause and effect.
At 5:29 you can see a piece of "Debris" right before the explosion. That *could* be his Data Core.
If you look at when BT jumps into the ark something in the bottom right travels out just before the explosion, could this be data core?

@@chugchugjr9498 in the game BT takes it his data core out of him so jack could collect it and return it to the new titan he will be using and if the titans eject data core the pilot would have to hold it so they wont be able to use their primary weapon.
I doubt it tho since the explosion of the fold weapon destroys the whole planet, so how could the data core survive?
Remember in effect and cause, where he said the following line "hmm thats weird, im detecting my own data signals" which might not be the exact thing he said but it is close, so that could mean something.

True, but later in that mission when again piloting bt Cooper again several times jumps in time and this time with bt together. So bt has been there earlier, but by the time he said the sentence you mentioned he didn't now that. So I think that's why

I have a feeling if they make a tf3, the whole thing could be about your new titan picking up a unknown signal randomly(bc this new titan will also be connected to your helmet just like BT-7274) and eventually your new titan gets a strong enough signal during the campaign to find out it's BT-7274, That would be awesome

There's nothing saying he didn't keep that part of him still in there just in case something else weird happens. So at the very least a part of his AI could be in there, best case scenario he uploaded all of his AI into the helmet right before the throw.
I have a cool idea for Titanfall 3. When Jack is like 10 years older and is on a mission through space, he jumps out of his rocket to work on a nearby satellite for Harmony. As he grabs a cyber tool or whatever to fix the satellite, he gets hit in the helmet by a data core. As he looks closer, he realizes that it’s BT-7274. He travels home to Harmony and installs in a Monarch Class Titan. As he recovers the data from all these years, he is faced with the task to destroy Fainlight, an enemy spaceship, kind of like Retribution from the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare campaign. Will him and BT-7274 be able to stop the ship from launching the S.T.R.I.K.E (System Tri-Fold Immobilization Kill Executioner), or will this old friendship end in a boom like last time?
I assumed that both the wrist device and the ark that enabled cooper to time travel. From the way Sarah talks to Anderson about the device I assumed that the wrist device was stabilising the time rifts created by the ark and allowing you to go through time, hence why you could only go between two points in time. So I think that it it is plausible for BT/FS to maybe have traveled in time to see Jack again.

He linked with jacks helmet so they can upload him to a new SERE kit and he lives.
a PART of him was uploaded to his helmet meaning he would lose some data and him being downloaded to his helmet was probably just a way to target jack`s position in space and time. I just don't think so much data could be stored on such a small helmet.

5:29 set the playback speed to 0.25 and you can see a small object fly away just before the explosion, this could be bt’s data core

In the mission "effect and cause" BT uploaded his AI to Jack's helmet to allow him to communicate with him without him being there.
My idea is that during one of the missions during TF3 BT's core signature is picked up on your helmet and you divert form your mission to recover it.
If they wpuld ever work on titanfall 3 the perfect campaign would be jack cooper trying to find bts data core
I would have loved the titanfall 2 ending if cooper's helmet suddenly started flickering. The flickering would suddenly start making static noises. Then it would make a BT-7274 voice saying "Protocal 3... Achieved" But the one where its morse code "Jack?" Is pretty smart. Either way, I love titanfall 2. Fun to play, good story. *Cough* call of duty nty *cough*

He actually said jacks name twice as when he says “good luck” sometimes its switched for “goodbye, jack
maybe the reason BT called it "old paint" was because thats what he originally looked like but through out his battles with Lastimosa the paint began to get damaged and when he was put into the new chassis he recognized it as his old one because it was the same paint job but didn't notice the paint different.

What i think happened is that instead of the explosion killing BT, it took him to a different dimension or it took him to the past. Because when BT linked himself with Jacks helmet he was able to talk to him through different time zones.
I remember seeing this somewhere, don't remember where though. When you are being launched into the Fold Weapon, there is text on the left or right side of your screen. In this text is the operating system of Jack's helmet trying to be connected. It says that the connection unstable but it could very well be BT loading his operating system into his helmet.
I was so hyped the first time i saw the secret at the end of the credits i was very hyped
fun fact, if you don’t talk to bt right before you both go into the ark, he says “goodbye jack”, and then throws you away. i learned that because i was trying all the different voice lines, and wasn’t paying attention when it popped up
It is also possible that the part of BT that was transferred into Cooper's helmet during the time travel still survives, and as such could be responsible for said morse code.
The ark could have sent bt back in time the thing jack puts on just harness the energy from the ark to control when he travel through time

In the mission effect and course, BT finds traces of his data signature tho he's never been to that location with lastamosa so it could actually prove that BT was sent back in time by the ark especially after in effect and course BT says, "the ark has created rifts in time" after jack questions the time travel. I believe he was sent back and waited for his current chassis to be destroyed/ sent back before trying to communicate with Jack through the connection to the helmet which he still has a connection with due to him implanting some of his data into it
At the first mission BT said that he was mobile so he would talk with cooper when they were far from each other.
I believe that his core its still somewhere in the space travelling or someone found his core and installed it to another chassis.

I saw that in while editing, I zoomed in and it seems to just be some metal/dirt flakes... I had the same idea but I'm sorry to say that it's just a part of the explotion...

If you look closely at the bottom right corner you can see his SERE kit ejecting explaining his survival
(Btw if you don’t respond to bt when you are being shot at the arc he will say “goodbye jack” instead of “trust me” so that is also a time that he called him jack)

Just before BT explodes, you can see some sort of debris fly out- maybe that was the core? Also, in effect and cause, BT says that he transferred some of his AI functions into the helmet
I’ve got a theory. Maybe the time watch thingy was to travel back and forth throughout time? Because in the despcrion of the Fold weapon, it “could” bend time and space. So that possibility would maybe still be open.
The last Time the ark blew up Time was frozen but BT and Cooper both got back unscathed so it's possible that BT came back and is still on typhon which isn't good as half of it is gone .
Sorry, but the time freeze (likely) happened because it overloaded the Time Travel device. If the ark froze time whenever it blew up, then cooper would have been frozen in time after BT sacrifices himself.

probably it (the device) works only in the explosion affected area because it manipulates the alredy made time distortions . and if not, the device is simply a mini fold weapon in time destroying mode (not space mode) and is probably chained to the ARK

+warlynx 56 if you at least look at the wiki the time gauntlet was reverse engineered by The Archaeological RESearch Division the same one who worked on the fold weapon which means they tried reverse engineering the fold weapon technology. plus if the ARK has nothing to do with time why was the time gantlet effected in the first place?
