43:26 Geogolist here! Technically you are correct, volcanoes "die" when the source of new underground magma is cut off and the magmatic chamber slowly cools off (that's how granite and other intrusive rocks are formed, by slow cristalization of magma) This does take a loooooong time though so it can be "revived" by injections of new/hot magmatic material or the still hot chamber entering in contact with groundwater causing a phreatic explosion/eruption because of the sudden vaporization of water in a confined space.
I also learned the word "slag" since English is not my first language (before I would have described the material as either molten metal or lava) So we all learned something today I hope!

42:30 Someone may have already mentioned this, but there is historical precedent for two-handed axes. In the early medieval, the dane axe is a big example. The kicker is that two-handed axes were usually single edged and didn't have two blades. The blade itself was also much thinner than most games tend to portray to manage the weight issue. In later years, the two-handed axe mostly evolved into weapons like the poleaxe and halberd

In regards to your question about Axes.
There were a few examples of two headed Axes for battle but they were rare and were shaped way differently than what is commonly depicted, often with a much longer haft. What was more likely used was something closer to a Dane axe. They are really great at what they do and transfer a shit ton of force into the enemy. Iirc the Scottish used a combined Pike/baskethilted sword front line and two handed axe/claymore second line. The Axes were great at hooking enemy shields and soldiers to pull them aside/into your ranks for allies to kill.

    • @knightmareza9478
      @knightmareza9478 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

There’s also the halberd and poleaxe that are basically twohanded axes with longer handles and extra stabby/hooky bits. Likewise used by various pike units to hook pike shafts and force them out of the way so their friendly pikemen had unobstructed lines of stabbing

Notable examples were some woman who swore I was her friend who she hadn't seen in years and would not relent, some kid who thought I was his uncle and wanted a ride home, and one guy even mistook me for the asshole who broke into his trailer and pissed on his couch.

There were two handed battle axes, like the Dane Axe for example. They usually weren't double headed though, it just adds unnecessary weight. A pole axe (which looks like a halberd) and halberds have multiple heads, but they are a spear-axe-hammer.
Polearm is mostly about the length of the handle, it's a very general term, like sword staffs, glaives, halberds, pikes, bec de corbin, dane axe are all polearms.

  • @KCUROV

Hey, I just wanted to say that I've really been enjoying your Morrowind videos. It's rekindled my interest for the game. I had a similar thing happen about a year ago where watching Warlockracy's videos inspired me to give Morrowind a chance. When I first got Steam about twelve years ago, it was the first game I bought for the outdated little laptop I had. My thought process then was "it's like skyrim but I can run it!" and I played it for about a week and never got into it, and I hadn't touched it again till recently. I've always had a soft spot for Morrowind but I never had the patience until I was older.
I know that's a "bro who asked" kind of story but Warlockracy's videos inspired me to give it a chance, and your videos show me how much more can be done with the game, and so I'm taking another dive into it. I'm glad there's good Morrowind content between the both of you, since it really is a good game that tends to be overshadowed by the newer games.
Also, I think it'd be neat if you tried these kinds of challenges but for the Great House or Guild questlines, or for something in Tamriel Rebuilt. There's a version of the "I Heart Vanilla" modlist where it has Tamriel Rebuilt alongside Skyrim: Home of the Nords, there's a lot of good content and questlines between both that most people (including myself) haven't really seen on TH-cam.

As for your question on battleaxes: the vikings used some large two-handed axes. Though they would not have been double-headed like the conjured one here. Theres ofc also the headsmans axe but thats not a weapon so much as it is a tool.
In general I believe there isnt much a large axe can do that a polearm cant do better which you sort of touched on. Part of the allure with hatchets and handaxes is that they are cheap and can be helpful as tools as well which you also start to lose with something heavier and with a larger blade.

I really like your take on challenge runs, some other channels skip over too much of the run and specific hurdles aren't covered as much. Also big ups for being comedic without being vivacious, it's refreshing.

It was nice seeing some representation of my favorite play style!
My first hours would be spent summoning, soul trapping, and looting summoned Golden Saints in a closet in Coldara mage's guild. I'm surprised to see the internet has never spoken of that exploit.

Honestly, I like this style of video. You aren't demanding my eyes, and your rather flat tone but with occasional humor inserted allows me to focus on what I'm doing, but sometimes get a chuckle when I hear a joke. It's actually a nice video to have going on in the background because I can actually focus on other things to a higher degree than other videos.

so, I'm pretty new to watching/learning about Morrowind. Really only watched a couple videos here and there until a couple days ago when I found your channel. You've no idea how funny it was to me to learn that Morrowind ALSO has a Fortify Alchemy loop like Skyrim.

@JustBackgroundNoise , I want to give you a very big thank you & say your doing a great job with making these vids 👍🏼
I came across your channel a month or two ago, when you popped up on my recommendations with morrowind & I gotta tell ya.
Itxs giving me morrowind fever to play the game myself 1st hand , i tried to olay years ago when I was in highschool & didnt get it... dying shortly after to the dinosaur thing just outside the first city towards a left path & return the game to the store i got it from, never to grace it again.... until years later where I played Skyrim (fell in love with it & played for atleast a few hundred's worth of game time) only to realize it was the same series
Also want to give props to your speech recording, its not only hilarious on joke delivery, it also ties well hand in hand with being able to potentially fall asleep too (I used one of your vids once (so far) to help me simmer down into a sleepiness, & have fallen asleep to one)
    So yeah 🤙🏼

Your good/bad bit at 33:30 was actually perfect comedy. Like you did the bit just long enough for it to be actually funny, and ended it just before it got annoying. Like actually god-tier comedic sense.

If you're still early on, don't let low level combat discourage you. It gets a lot better. If you're not totally intent on a vanilla experience, some basic graphics mods can go a long way too. If you're already into Elder Scrolls it's a treasure trove of lore. It was the first TES game I played and is still by far my favourite in a lot of ways.
