Not many people here in the West realize just how rich Chinese culture really is. It's one of the most ancient civilizations that are still standing currently and there stories and legends are proof of it. I would also encourage anyone who enjoys this story to look into old legends and tales from India.
Absolutely. Here's a brief retelling of an old tale from India. A very successful king had a wise hermit advisor. These hermits are like monks. At the height of the king's success he invites the hermit to receive a reward. The king tells him he may ask for anything as the king is extremely grateful for his wisdom and assistance. The hermit accepts and asks for 3 strides of property. The king laughs and asks if he truly couldn't use more than the length of three footsteps? The hermit says he only needs to take 3 steps. The king obliges. Suddenly the king is fully aware of the perspective of things and the hermits first stride is across all the other dimensions, his second covers the earth and the third is gently placed on top of the king's head. With the three strides the hermit makes the king fully aware he already owned everything and is indeed the creator. It's obviously a little interpreted, I'm going off of memory here and it was awhile ago. The stories from India are absolutely amazing.

I had a fear of water for while after I seen the fish scene when I was a kid
You poor thing. I had the same problem from a different film.
@@kurohime4257 was it bong joon ho the host?
@@malnutritionboy I don't even remember. All I remember is that I refused to sleep in my own room due to the bathroom being next to it and had a fear of any body of water including the bathtub. It was some film with a big fish.
@@kurohime4257 oh that doesn't really narrow it down haha
Me too bro that fish demon 🤣🤣
i actually liked this movie becuase he fights the demons and makes them his deciples at the end thats just so wholesome
Bro when he said “causing earthquakes with every step she takes” got me bro 😂
I love it!
A mother: GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER BACK!
The Monster: Okay! **proceeds to eat her**
so she would be in the stomach with her daughter 🤣
@@blueberrypie9608 wow the monster is so smart 🤣👍
@@uploaderlin well that monster is based on sha wujing which is the wise and logical of the group
The part i love about how you explained it is how heroic the large lady and she jumped on the board where the monster was without hesitation
The part when the demon Hunter made his foot big was funny his foot being that big was just funny
I don't really like scarry videos, but I love storries like that!!!
My children and I are fans of Mr. Chow. Anything he directs is going to beautiful. We love this movie.
"runs away from the woman immediately, mostly likely not wanting to pay any child support in the future".....this line really got me ROTL
“Most likely not wanting to pay child support in the future.”💀💀💀
I just love when they say "however"
“Most likely knowing he might have to pay for child support” best thing I have ever heard
So that WuKong - was THE Wukong and this was a prequel to Journey to the West huh? Damn I forgot how beautiful Shu Qi is.
I love this- demon hunters popping up everywhere like mediaeval detectives or private investigators.
All I remember is "Monkey Magic", with Pigsy and the young monk or Prince played by a woman. It was a cult classic about 20- 30 years ago.
It’s actually based on a really old Chinese story that has influenced pretty much all Chinese, Japanese and Korean storytelling. It’s a great story but insanely long. this entire film is a strange mashup of different parts that have all been moved around chronologically from just the first chapter there’s at least another 12 or 13 left
@@dylanjacques3480 thankyou... that fills it in well!
Awesome
Holy shot Ive watched this in a hotel when I was a kid. Everything was so vague until I came across this. Shit was wild man
*jesus nails a 3 pointer in the basketball court*
I remember watching this, kung fu hustle, and IP man with my dad i watched these movies so much i could probably watch the movies in my head but then our dvd player broke
Great video brought back memories
Wow. I can't believe how they ended that. I was wondering why Wukong was an evil demon, has I knew he was mischievous, but not evil, so that's a really amazing set up.
I was kinda confused too although I do prefer the original story
2:09 this scene is so chilling to me. sends shivers down my spine
RIGHT?!
Bbj
Indeed! Something I've never seen before in an action movie.
Instead of devouring her on the spot, the demon firstly stared right into her soul. That's terrific!
6:24 This narration is 100% accurate and truly captures the essence and intrigue of the film
Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons is a timeless piece... Shu Qi is absolutely gorgeous too ;)
yeah she is... i love her eyes
She prob forced him to touch her bogs
"the lucky man got luckier "I laughed at that😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I remember watching this movie with my mom as a kid. The nostalgia i feel from this is unbelievable.
"Creating earthquakes as she walks" Bro your narration is spot on!
“...most likely not wanting to pay any child support in the future.” 😂👏
I used to be super scared of this movie 😂
Oh yeah! I remember watching this one as a kid! That water creature scared the bejeezus out of me when it lifted out of the water...
I remember watching this when I was young, this is about the longevity before he become the monk same with sun wukong before he come the monkey king. Sun Wukong is my favorite character
A story that has been told and retold more times than the years I have been alive.
Bro how many times did I hear this sentence
“Turns out he/shes a demon hunter” lol
I have seen this movie and it was great! I enjoyed your recap! You can turn an already great movie into an ever greater movie! You have a gift, keep sharing it with us, please!
14:10 The Demon king pulled a Freiza.
