2] This movie is actually the 3rd installment in the series, the 1st one is about the Monkey's back story and how he destroyed heaven, the 2nd one is about how the Monk met all his disciples and how his lover died

The monk became enlightened just like buddha but buddha was enlightened long long ago, the first buddha already transcended to higher realms

I love the idea of a demon, a creature depicted to present evil and suffering, saves mortals from a deity, which are meant to represent purity and perfection
The translation isn't that accurate. The deities are merely "servants of heaven", and what is called demon here is more like a powerful spirit, or what Arabs call a djinn.
As a Christian a demon is a demon pure evil if they do good like very good or came back from their evil ways it meant that they wasnt fully demon or something

not really. its a movie about Wukong and his stories in Buddhism. so none of this is trying to be IRL so physics only apply where they should and everything else is magic or otherwise.

7:13 a mistake here. The demon is not Nezha, but Hong Hai Er (Little Red Boy). Nezha lives in heaven in the book with his father and is not a demon, while Hong Hai Er is son to the Bull King Demon.
True nezha is not a demon, he is a prince. I was shocked when he said that demon is Nezha. But he does have resemblance to nezha power, the 2 wheel of fire. Except he didn't have the scarf and spear like nezha

Pretty sure I've seen other versions of monkey king where he's stated to be a stone monkey so this fits. And Wujing being a fish is an interesting addition to his established amphbiousness

Nezha is actually a heavenly warrior, not a demon. He does fight Wukong, but he does not not look like a tennis ball with springs. This movie destroys everything about the Journey to the West. I think they're talking about Hong Hai, the Red Child, whose power is to breathe fire.
