Sorry guys! I completely forgot to mention that if you have fast, aggressive fish then you will need to catch the babies and raise them in a breeder box you can buy at your local fish store. Here’s a link to a more detailed video I’ve made about raising platy fry: th-cam.com/video/uoDR3P6LEf0/w-d-xo.html
I love platys, but I've always kept them with other fish like angelfish, Denison barbs and guaramis that eat the fry, so I never had any that survived. Some of the variatus are incredibly beautiful...very underrated fish imo
@romarioviegas5040 oh actually I didn't want any fry to survive. My tank was pretty well stocked as it was, and I recently had to quit the hobby due to health issues, so I gave away both my tanks and stock. I still love watching what other people are doing with their tanks though
Yeah when it comes to bigger fish like that it gets very difficult! This method only really works in small to medium sized planted community tanks. Can't got wrong with the Variatus tho!
Good job man just one thing I think you shouldve added Glowlight tetras my Dad got a school of glowlight tetras a while back and they butchered every last platy fry and guppy fry there was and they werent new born platys they were a couple weeks old and they entire tank was well fed so yeah.
Dang yeah never kept Glowlights before, didn't realise. When it comes to those fish dense vegetation and lots of hiding places are essential. Sorry to hear mate!
I watched a video of you just now, your video from 3 years ago, and I’m like: awe!! He’s cute and tiny and knows about fish!❤ and now I’m watching one of your most recent, and I’m like: awe!! He’s all grown up 😊 I think my fish is pregnant.. I’d rather that over a disease! 😰
Bahaha that's gold! Yeah it's been a journey and cool you got to see it in a matter of minutes! Yeah, I hope your fish is pregnant too! Just look for that gravid spot and make sure there's no pineconing in the scales 👍

You need to create another small second aquarium just for the fry
