I like to imagine a graph were the y axis is volts and x is time. The cap helps eliminate or reduce the valleys or dips in the graph caused by sudden full throttle when the amp draw significantly peaks. This helps make the graph more linear keeping the voltage from dipping and preventing starving the esc.
great video with a lot of quality information. not only will you go faster your esc will thank you by not prematurely letting the magic smoke out. by cleaning up your incoming and outgoing voltage the cap will eliminate spikes in your system from coming off throttle on a hard pull for example. thanks for a great source of info Richie and thx to JJ’s Customs for such a quality product
Ive seen some people have to solder the end of the cap pack wires into the esc wires very close to the esc (But they cant get to the esc itself). How do you strip the side of the wires and soulder it in ? Do you wrap the cappack wires around the esc wires or just have them touching then solder?
I heard they dont help your punch or takeoff power, just protects the esc in speed runs. Is this true? I have an arrma Kraton exb with a 1717 and mm2 in it. Havnt ran it yet. Do you think I should put a cap pack in it? Will it help the punch at all? Or should I just put some high quality connecters like Castle Gold Bullet 6.5mm polarised ?
What if I just used a parallel, no-wire splitter for the cap pack? The esc and cap pack are connected on the split side in parallel while the battery is connected on the single side.
How can i select a cap pack to a noprep drag car, with a 2S combo (Tekin Eliminator 4.0T motor/ esc pro rs) or a 3s combo (trinity drag master 4.5T / esc Tekin Rx8 gen3)
My local rc shop soldered the negative of the cap pack into the negative of one of my battery connectors and the positive with the positive of the other battery connector. Is this wrong?
Do I need this if im not getting hot temps and happy with performance of my rc car? I have hobbywing wbl 100 amps esc and 86 amp motor. I really don't see the need in one unless i have higher amp rated motor than the esc
Well it's a personal choice I've not done a definative before and after test as yet, however if your car sort of 'stutters' at very high speed then you may need one, but if it doesn't I'd pass on it. I couldn't comment on the specifics of your setup
Found that very useful Richie!! I've got a few 35V/2200mF Capacitors... I might make my own. 😉 Some skills get very useful when you're very Poor, and can't even afford a cheap Cap Pack.... BTW, I haven't been back on FB yet... So I don't know if you've responded to my comments on the P601 on your Page. I'll check soon! 😉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

I can't say how grateful I am that you put a video out like this. I see speed runs with a limitless in your future! Great video

Excellent explanation of what the Cap pack dose. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi can you send me the vidio were you used the xt90 parallel connector to plug in the cappack thanks..
Way to break it down, great analogy. Very nice, thank you!
Good info Richie, thanks for sharing.
Why was the wire so stiff after you soldered it on? Did the solder run up the wire causing it to stiffen up?
Another great video brother 👊

I’m shimming my redcat axles today if it’s still hot would a cap pack help the heat? I’ve tried smaller pinion doesn’t help much

Good to know, keep up the good work!
Nice man👍
Very easy
Would it be worth getting one of these on my traxxas maxx on 3s?
No! Save your money, it'll make no difference unless you've a speed run car/setup
@@DriftomaniacsRC ok thanks

No, that's correct. You want the caps in parallel.
I don’t see where you ordered that cat pack from

This is only really needed for top speed runs or drag racing.
Can you put a cap pack on stock typhon v4 system?
yes but you'd have no need to.
Ok thank you
