I love this video and combo! I put it in my V2 Infraction with 40t spur and 29t pinion and went 112mph no sweat. Backed it up with 111 mph run. I need to change the motor mount to run a larger 34t pinion. Looking forward to spring! For winter I took out the 1520 and reinstalled the spekrum motor. It runs awesome with the castle esc. I bet you could hit 100 with the stock motor. Great stuff!
I once converted a Kyosho DRX Gas to electric. Bought a 3s and a 4s battery. With the 4s battery, I could barely keep the car together in one piece!!! Just insane speed and torque. I can't even imagine 8s.

I bought an Xmaxx 8s combo. No idea why but I needed it and it was sitting around so i decided to put it in a stock slash 2wd. Barely on the throttle itll leave burnout Mark's on concrete. Ran it multiple times on 6s and 8s.

Good video. I'm planing on buying the infraction soon. And was thinking about upgrading it would like to see a tad bit over 100mph. Those are some good tips.

Would be interesting how the Castle 1717 Motor works in the infraction. It should fit with the separate sold motor mound.
The 1717 is a little shorter than this 1520 so it should fit right in there.

I got this motor & esc combo in my UDR right now. Still trying to figure out gearing. The lower KV than stock means gearing way up, then heat becomes an issue

Would this motor work with the VXL-6s? I kinda wanna put one in my UDR. The stock 2200 kv motor lacks torque. I don't need the 8s. I just need the lower kv rating. I was gonna put one in my E-revo then I saw that it doesn't fit.
I bought an eco power servo for my traxxas slash 4x4 and it is too small so what do I do it won’t fit??? Pls help
Also I went to the store and they said it would fit and the problem is that I live 4 hours away from the store I’m so disappointed because it is the right one it just doesn’t fit.

Wow, you melted the tires!!! BTW, best mod for the Infraction is the fender kit from Scorched RC. I drive my V2 every where now. Like drifting on hard packed snow this morning with my Amain AKA IBeam buggy tires!!!

@@AMain_Hobbies I was running them in the snow. The grip was awesome and no tire wear. Previously I put Typhon tires on the Infraction. They are slightly shorter than Proline Badlands (also from Amain). The Badlands are too tall. In the field around the corner the Typhon hit 50 mph before I needed to hit the brakes. The Infraction hit 54!!! At 30mph nailing it would send grass and dirt flying! Keep the videos coming! Great job 👏 👍

@@AMain_Hobbies so I just took them off and put the streets back on. One 6s session, 1 4s session and 4 3s sessions later and they are in excellent shape! 3s is plenty of wheel speed for snow. I also don't have much room for ballooning as I noticed when I was drying out the tires on the bench. Thanks for the videos!!! -Lou
BTW, by excellent shape I mean they all look excellent. I did label what tire came off what corner but they all looked exactly the same. As you know all the Infraction tires cook the rears first. Too fun!!!

The Hobbywing 4985 fits in the Typhon so then the Castle will too :)

I expected more of it on 8s. For now I’m at 85mph in my Talion with stock BLX system and was thinking of putting in that castle combo. But at first look it wouldn’t be much better.

i use the 1717-1650kv with 19t pinion it gets hot i need 2 40mm cooling fans for the motor

We don't have a Typhon like we mentioned in the video. But the 1520 should fit your buggy.

Good morning, I have a V1 model limtless which engine would you recommend between 1520 1650kv and 1717 1650kv? Will the 1520 with its 88 mm length give me problems inserting it into the original housing?

No. We gave the car to the guys at our local retail AMain hobby shop to play with and show off to customers. Not sure what state the vehicle is in right now.

I’m running that motor with max 6 esc in my kraton exb running 16/46 with 2 4s zeee batteries an it seizes up sent it to castle they sent a new one to me an it happen again what am I doing wrong

Cut out front windshield to increase air flow on motor parts
That would help cool down the parts, but it would probably create a lot of air drag. Not a bad idea though, and maybe something worth testing.

can you post a link for bulk hoons or can we get bulk pricing on the GRPs? I go through a set every 2 runs with only 6S. never mind 8s.
I have a garbage bag full of shredded hoons on useless rims -- I just need rubber!

So using the castle esc do we have to program it with
Laptop or the way you did it on this video is how you can program it
You can use whatever method you want. PC programming is the most robust of course, but that's not always needed, like when you just need to reverse the motor direction.

Ok thanks I always thought you had to program it from the laptop I didn't know you could do it manually thats y I didn't ever go castle I always do hobbywing cause its easier to program
Would the bigger 1650kv motor fit in the erevo? I heard it should fit if you put the motor on the high cg motor setting
The motor won't fit the way the E-Revo 2.0 is now and would hit the rear shock mount. If you can raise the motor up to clear the mount, then you might be in business.

I just bought the Arrma Infraction and wanting to do the 8s conversion is this the best combination over the Hobbywing Ez Run Max 6 V3 with a Poseidon Pro 1800kv 8s? Running 1650kv or a higher or lower kv ? Do you think 1650kv is the best kv to go with Thanks
We are unfamiliar with any "best" way to do it, instead, you have many options available to you. Different kV motors provide different power for different applications. Some people just want a car to run while other people are looking to create high speed machines - each of which would probably use a different kV motor.

@@coreylerille6819 Haha awesome. I understand wanting to make an 8S machine. You have a lot of options to you and Castle or Hobbywing will serve you well. For the efficiency of your electronics, I would recommend a low kv motor with 8S power, and gear up when you want high rpm speed runs. A higher kv motor will generate higher rpm overall, but at a cost for efficiency. If this isn't a dedicated speed run car, shoot for efficiency with low heat, long runtimes and long life. Hope this makes sense man!

On 4s in a 1:8 Buggy is 1650kv fast enough for track racing? Or would it require 6s?
It's probably under kv'ed for big tracks and long straightaways, but you could probably get away with smaller and tighter tracks. If you're serious about racing, you'd be best served by a competition oriented system. If you're just looking to have a good time, bash around and occasionally race, this is a good system.

Sure. The ESC used is compatible between 2S thru 8S, and the motor is good from 3S to 8S.

Shoot, can't remember off the top of my head. Whatever we said in the video, that's what we used.

My v3 Talion can do 72 with a 22 pinion on stock electrics

How dose the size of the 1520 can effect the speed compared to the stock UDR 2200Kv? The 1520 is slightly bigger but has 1650Kv!
The size of the can helps determine how big of a rotor can fit, and how many magnets. The more magnets in there, and the more powerful they are, the more torque the motor should provide. And you'll know it's a very torque motor when you turn the output shaft with your fingers (with the motor unplugged, removed from the vehicle, and pinion gear removed).
For the UDR, a longer can motor like this will hang out the back of the truck and probably get scratched up a lot. Might work with no issues, or it could be an issue. Suppose it depends on your terrain and how hard you drive. Hope this has helped Jeff.

@Amain hobbies in many rc cars I saw the esc and the receiver are combined(esc and receiver combo). In this case can I change the esc without changing the receiver??

Why didn’t you want to reverse the throttle using the transmitter?
Because the ESC provides more power to forward direction than reverse. If you switch direction in the transmitter, your reverse will now have more power than going forward.

Hi, I recently just got a mamba monster X 8S ESC , But I dont know if it's fan is ok, because it only spins when powering on the ESC but stops. does it work that way? because it does not constantly spins.
They are thermally controlled fans, so it may shut off if not needed.

Which parts(like the brushless motor, esc, receiver, survo etc) are harmful if I only change the 2s lipo to 3s lipo
You just need to ensure the ESC and motor are 3S compatible.

No. RPM makes a cage for that ESC but it's for the X-Maxx. You can make your own cage like we did in our Maxx 6S video.
