Just straight reactions like this are fine, but theyre hardly offering up something different in the world of youtube.... In saying that, I do like this this video, but I wouldnt say its a great react video by any stretch
I have the opposite opinion, this wasn't transformative of the original content in any way and is just a viewing party. This is what copyright law draws a distinction between, for it to count as fair use you actually need to be adding to the content. Not just watching it.
None of the band had heard any of this week up until like 5 days before the first of these shows where this was recorded and even then it was just skeletal midi demos.
i saw them live last year, they do this and i mean all of this with a different line up for every show... last year they had something like 141 shows. Some core member are always there but still very impressive.
Audio Technicas are simply one of the best considering its price-range. You'll see a lot of musicians in studios rocking these. Plus they even include 3 different Aux cords types depending on your use! Highly recommend these babies, have had mine for about 4 years
Bro you are so right I always knew about Corey Henry then somebody told me he's playing for this group called snarky puppy so I checked them out and man it opened my eyes to larnell
You know this is legendary when you've already seen and heard this many times and still can't process all of this insanity. If you haven't seen "Outlier" from this album, that's another possible reaction video for you. 🔥🔥🔥
I had the luck to record Larnell at my studio once with my 70s Ludwig Blue Oysters and boy did he kill them. He also added some percussion on a track that Jerry Granelli recorded without click and moved in tempo quite a bit, as the song was pretty free form, making it almost impossible to follow without heavy editing, but he heard it once, then did one take, and that was it. Genius, humble and great guy!
Please check out lingus by snarky puppy. The band is snapping. It starts in 5/4 timing then creatively, everyone goes hard. Larnell Lewis with the player, that horn section is fya. Corey henry transformed my brotha. Just watch it and react if you can
I'm in pain, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What I love about this music is that it brings tears to my eyes. The tears relieve some of my pain. And therefore are essential for whatever health I have left. I am a musician from a Classical background, but love to hear the intricacies of this music and in particular the work of Mr Lewis. That slight relief of pain is glorious. Thank you for sharing it and giving me an opportunity to hear it.
Holy Sh!t dude!! I don't know how I ever missed this band but this was my first time hearing them. Having a musical / religious experience here! Been listening to nothing but them for the last hour. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR OPENING MY EYES TO THIS INCREDIBLE GROUP!!! wow..................
Josh, I am so glad I am not alone in my reactions to this!! Man, this is like a old-fashioned butt whoop'n from your grandpa!! You hurt'n but greatly appreciating the LESSON!!!😪❤️😅❤️😅❤️
Larnell is a fucking master of his craft. I've become addicted to his video's after seeing his 'first time listening to enter sandman' video that hit 4.5 mil views in a month on the Drumeo channel.
Man...how are you JUST now seeing this madness?! Now you gotta watch all the songs lol Larnell's work on that album as a whole is one of the greatest drum performances I've ever heard.
Are you just finding out about larnell?? He is one of my favorite drummers, he is amazing. Been listening to snarky puppy for years. Larnell has a very keen ear for music. Very talented and gifted and humble.
He learned some of the tunes on the flight over, this one and a couple of others, he'd already played. He was asked to do the gig because the drummer they had lined up couldn't make it for some reason.
Wow, I was having a real bad today after getting news from my lawyer. This video brought about chills all over my body. Thanks bro. To some of us this medicine. Thanks again Bro! 💯👍
One of the best drummers I've ever heard and I grew up listening to some of the best, Cobham, Gadd, Porcaro, Purdie, Rich, Peart, etc. Snarky Puppy is one of those bands that just sounds amazing live, such a great feel and creative energy to the band. I love it when people, who really love music, hear something like this and like me, find themselves really reacting to the music, but when you're in a small venue with hundreds of like minded music nuts, who also get the music and spot all the musical nuances, clapping, cheering, etc. there is nothing like it! :)
His work on shofukan in this recorded series was hands down one of my favorite!!!! He and the whole band killed it! This caliber of musician ship is what I show the people that say music is dead and nothing great happens anymore! Like watch this you'll know it's better then it's ever BEEN!!!
I sat to Larnell's left for this recording. It's funny because I was initially disappointed that Sput wasn't there (love his playing) but my mind was quickly blown and I was like "who is this guy?!!"
A few years ago I announced a female singer who wanted the sing ‘don’t worry ‘bout me’ mistakenly with 👉🏼 ‘ what about me’. And this in front of 400 people! Thanks Larnell.
I know this is a drum channel, but Bob Lanzetti kills it on the solo, and creates amazing "duet" with Larnell. For more of this, try Outlier - Bob Reynold's sax solo is glorious, and Larmell's interplay with it is fantastic.
Wait your telling me he hasent saw this yet... this man is about to pass out from how many stank faces hes gonna give lol. Larnell lewis POPS OFF on this song. FYI you should listen to the alternative solos he did people posted them on there channel.
@@robertcassens4923 I caught their show at Marathon Music Works. Which is a great venue. I saw Kamasi Washington, Lettuce, Thievery Corporation, and Big Gigantic there as well.

Check out Lettuce. Adam Deitch is the shit, you'll love him. Loved the reaction btw. I love this album and as everyone stated about Larnell learning all the songs on a 7 hour flight is just extraordinary. When I heard him say that on Drumeo I literally spit water all over my phone lol. Hopefully he gets the recognition he deserves for being one of the all-time greats, because this album alone seals that deal for me. If Zappa were alive he'd being knocking Larnell's door down.

He’s a different breed!!!!!
Keep in mind that Larnell learned the entire album by ear in a 7.5 hours flight... that's just insane
I will always remember this
Reminds me of my blind keyboardest, such a quick learner!
And he probably slept for 6 of those hours...
Musical genius
None of the band had heard any of this week up until like 5 days before the first of these shows where this was recorded and even then it was just skeletal midi demos.
Larnell learned the song on his flight to the studio. He arrived there and played it without „real“ practice. That is mindblowing.
I heard he just walked in there did it with no practice at all.
Not when you're gifted amazing
entire session btw not just this track
This band is insane... everybody is so deep in the pocket its stupid.....
So tight and clean
They all finished from UNT
still think it's hilarious that anthony fantano calls them "elevator music with average/mild performances"
@@i_so_late hahaha that is absolutely hilarious! Imagine being at that level and having that opinion. Love it.

You know you’re an unbelievable drummer when someone plays an INSANE electric guitar lead like that and the drums still stick out during it.

I love the way Joshua stays in the background and lets me watch the clip with him. He is careful not to talk too much. Refreshing and appreciated.
