One of the most amazing black games in the Catalan was Giri-Wei Yi in this years GCT Poland Rapid and Blitz.
Black prevented any queenside pressure from building up and went directly for an attack on the king.

Excellent, as always! This video makes a nice trilogy with GM Colovic's videos on the Nimzo-Indian and Queen's Indian.

Thanks for this , needed it.
Do you have something similar for the QGD normal Nf3 Nc3 ? I felt like the lines in the course had also a lot of theory

Yes, it's not so easy to avoid a lot of theory in the QGD. There are a few attempts to reduce it, like these moves 3/4...a6 or 3/4...h6, but they still have some stuff to learn. That's one of the reasons I proposed this easy QGA in one of my previous videos, as a bonus you also avoid the Catalan. :)

7:38 I arrived here via the Grünfeld video. Aagaard/Ntirlis in their very good book on the Tarrasch also thinks this White's option. But Black's psychological problem gets worse. If White prefers dynamic play iso grinding down a small plus there is 10.b4!? It demands accurate play by Black as well. So White has a pleasant choice. Of course the Catalan move order avoids this too.

Yes, those are the reasons why Black started to play the Tarrasch with ...Nf6 before ...Nc6 recently, to avoid these lines.

I feel like my bishop is on the wrong field when i play cathalan dear Alex.
I am far from your level.
    It's just how i feel.
I like my bishops pointing on the king or f7 ish fields...
    It's just how i feel...
    Great vid ❤🎉

Great stuff! Actually, this video could also be called the anti-anti Dubov Tarrasch treatment. I mean (1d4d5 2c4e6 3Nf3 c5 4.cd ed 5.g3!? Nf6 6.Bg2 Be7!, where only 6.Nc3 cd would lead to the Dubov Tarrasch. It is also great that there are actually similar motives as mentioned in the video after say 7.castles castles 8.Nc3 h6!? 9.dc Bc5 10.Nd4 Nc6 11.Nb3. Lakdawala in his 2023 book on the Tarrasch could recommend nothing better then 6.Bg2 c4 which has the not uninportant drawback that it leads to a different type op game then the Dubov he recommended in that book. So thank you!
