Could makers of videos learn to stop using mechanical voices. It's cheap and shoddy and disrespectful of the viewer. The video maker takes a game played by others, a commentary that may or may not be his, and feeds it into a text to voice converted. How cheap. And the video that resukts from it is rubbish.
Exactly. I turned it off right away, and came here to moan about it. Poor taste is creeping into online chess analysis . It’s up to us to hold fast and remember that this has become a business for many people. Where we give our views, our time and our attention makes or breaks a site. This one is broken intrinsically. So say I.
"Shoddy and disrespectful to the viewer?" Really? You're suggesting it's incumbent on those making videos for your pleasure that they adhere to your preferences? Disrespectful indeed.
@jimmalmstrom6593 it has nothing to do with my preferences. The maker of the video is lazy and does not even seem to realize that text to speech has no way of knowing about inflection or where to pause. Once they put it "out there" it is subject to the sanction of criticism. If we can praise good videos, it follows that we can criticise bad ones. And this one is bad.
You take too much for granted, the maker of the video may not have a good speaking voice, stutter or have a heavy accent. If you dislike the maker's content this much there is always the option to switch to another channel.
@@Boudicca-the-musical May I suggest that you don’t get it - it’s not about you. If it was, all videos would be submitted to you for your approval. Comrade Tal, plese stop bullying our world champion!
I Missed this match! I know only that Tal won against Kasparow some only days before his Death, Talj was Genius from Riga, the magiciam from Riga
Tal took his smart opponent on a walk into a strange dark forest, soon his opponent was lost.
The raw calculator vs the intuitive magician
Robo voices are quite annoying.
Yeah, I can't watch it. :\ Unfortunate, I dig the content.
Same
I muted.
You're a piece up against Tal means you are finished! BruTAL.
This droning 'AI' voice can make even a Tal game boring. Quite an achievement. I guess.
Tal is truly a legend one of the all time greats
not only queen sacrifice but also checkmate with a pawn
As Tal himself once said : "You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5"
Very deep.
The Magician from Riga - Mikail Tal
Tal is the natural genius!!!
Amazing game by Tal
"There are sacrifices, and there are mines!" GM M. Tal.
If you go to the trouble of using TTS for the audio, why not correct the text with an LLM first?
tal was genius, such a blade thinker
Thanks for the comments. We don't need an A.I. though, it comes across as too cold and robotic.
GO CRAMLING!!
Yup, can't finish this with the robot narration.
Me, neither. When I see a new chess site, I automatically subscribe, but I stopped listening to the video and unsubbed after the 4 minutes of torture.
not just the TTS 'narration' but the ridiculous grammar. Eg. "resulted _to._ " And its the same over and over again.
Agreed this is garbage. Enough down votes maybe will banish it

is this voice AI? I couldn't finish the video
Tough fight. Good analysis. Voice?
Are you sure this was played in 1978. Was it not in 1980 81, where kasparov won 6 games tal 2 and remaining draws. Some one need to verify this.
its a blitzgame!

A little less conversation and more action

This video should be half long
Just increase the playback speed.
all the what ifing and lack of flow in what happened ruins the video.

I never understand Tal. He is a magician.
A chess GM in fact.
The piece set looks fugly
Very playful!!!
This is a joke, bad comments and no video of the event.
It's always disappointing when a picture of two players at the chessboard is shown, but no live action is shown. A form of clickbait i suppose.
Could Tal smoke during the game?
@mahendrakonsam4473 to quote the old Tartakower joke: "He looks as if he wants to [smoke] and as Capablanca said, 'the threat is greater than its execution.' "
Smoking is now a thing of the past. It was so common them days, you would be sick if you didn't smoke!! How on earth could they see the board?
Picture of Bobby Fisher practicing in a swimming pool with his sparring partner blowing cigarette smoke in his face comes to mind.
Talking too much, matey. Just show the game.

Gruesome English - interesting game though
The English resulted 'to' me quitting halfway through.

He lost me at "blitz". *Blitz* is not chess.
Of course it is. It's fast time control chess. At least it's not bullet, which is just chaos.
