    [Verse 1]
Okay, well I just woke up
    And you already don't care
That I tried my best to hold you
Through the headset that you wear
And as tight as I might hold it
    Over where the signal's good
There's no way to save your evening now
Through the little phone that could
    [Verse 2]
    And yes I was tempted
And it christened me lonely, I pretended to falter
And I burnt scented candles there
And I hung some good pictures where
Thе paintwork was perfect so no-one could doubt it
    Oh, I was still losing
    [Chorus]
So show mе the land you acquired
    And slip into something beside
The holes you try to hide
And lay out your rules for the night
Oh, don't eat your toast in my bed
    Oh darling I
I never felt the crumbs until you said
"This place is not for any man
    Nor particles of bread"
    [Verse 3]
    Furnished your suffering
You played a good organ, the world gathered singing
    Good words that you'd stolen
    And every phone died then
And no-one had WiFi inside your apartment
So we knelt at your altar
    [Verse 4]
Okay, well I just woke up
    And you already don't care
That I tried my best to hold you
Through the headset that you wear
And as tight as I might hold
    Over where the signal's good
There's no way to save your evening now
And I'm ready for us to be understood
    [Chorus]
So show me the land you acquired
    And slip into something beside

Read in an interview how Isaac saw a performance where there was no timing, they just let the notes die out with the breath. That's where he got the idea for the opening. What a lucky guy Isaac is to have a band to pull that stuff off.

Good isn't it. Had a mate who was pretty damn good on the trumpet, she always wanted to play in a group exactly like this, but after about 8 years of going round groups that just didn't keep her interest she gave it up. Feel like these guys record pretty well, but in real life, your face would be melted by the whole and encompassing sound that they produce.

I listened to your music for the first time in a tv show, Arte, with Jehnny Beth, and in that moment realized that I was earing something important, really important. "Sunglasses" just blew my mind, it was for me the best song of the year 2020. And all the other songs were great too, the sound was new, exciting, deep. I bought your first album. And now you show up with this... what can I say, it's beautiful, it's new, and together with "Chaise Longue", by Wet Leg, is my favorite song of the year.. I'm portuguese, and your coming here to Lisbon I think on the 20th this month. I'll be there, you're outstanding in what you do. All the best

This song means the world to me, as I don't know if the lyrics were meant intentionally written to describe it, but to me it said heartbreak. With the singing and lyrics, the strings, and the guitar, I don't think I've found a sound with such profound sadness. It hurts, but it's beautiful, and it meant a lot during some tough time in my life, not to say it doesn't anymore. This band overall has my heart with it, and with the last album I will be looking forward to the next and onwards. Thank you.
