    ► DEALERS FOR COMPONENTS
READ CAREFULLY: The best way to get the products at good prices is to just google "home theater system solutions" which will display a list of local Dealers near you/in your city/town - Not every dealer has access to all brands. Once you decide which product to get, call a bunch of those Dealers, you'll be able to shortlist atleast 2-3 dealers ready to offer you the product. Then negotiate with all of them for a good price. These products are quite expensive with high profit margins, so if you don't negotiate, you will most probably be fooled.
    Epson Projectors - www.epson.co.i...
    ViewSonic Projectors - www.viewsonic....
    Optoma Projectors - www.optoma.com...

►Where to get 4K HDR Dolby Atmos content: Plex (for playing files on computer),Netflix, and Disney+ Hotstar support 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos - but only on some devices - Nvidia Shield TV 2019, Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019, Xbox One X,...
You can buy 4K Bluray Discs of movies and play them via a 4K Bluray Player (which costs another 30K)
You can buy 4K Bluray Discs, and copy the video files to your computer using a REMUX software. This is for easy access. Your computer needs to have a 4K Bluray Writer to be able to do this.

Epson EH-TW9400 is a 4K Projector with support for HDR10 and it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and has a contrast ratio of 1,200,000:1.
Denon AVR-X4500H is an AV Receiver with support for Dolby Atmos (Decoding), 4K pass-through and HDR10 HDR10+ Dolby Vision pass-through. It also supports IMAX Enhanced DTS:X and Auro 3D audio.
This is a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup - 5 for Surround Sound, 1 Subwoofer, and 4 Ceiling Speakers. It could also be tweaked and configured at 7.2.2 - 7 for Surround Sound, 2 Subwoofers, and 2 Ceiling Speakers.
Nvidia Shield TV Pro is at the forefront of this home theatre setup which is by far the best Android TV box ever made in my opinion.
    Speakers Used:
Front Left, Center, Front Right - Sony (reused from HT-DDW5500 system)
Surround Left & Right - Polk Audio OWM3
Ceiling Speakers - Polk Audio RC80i

Please read the description carefully! And guys, if you cannot afford to do a 1.5L setup, then just get a 1080p projector! 4K is not that much better than 1080p yet (w.r.t projectors) - check with your local dealers, they might be able to help you out with speaker and receiver recommendations according to your budget. But stick to those brands I showed in the video, and also read the description - otherwise you could be fooled by dealers.
Also don't forget to check out our sponsor HONEY, you cannot possibly ignore this! It's been finding coupon codes for me for over a year now, and saving me money - joinhoney.com/techjock

As long as you're a young person who already have a decent job in India, even if you can't afford the whole thing all at once at this very moment, it's still possible to get aside some money for this (or any other big "dream expense") each month, so that once you've saved up the required amount in a few years, you can make this happen.
I know people who have done this & I'm working towards building one myself with my own money in around 4 years from now. So yeah, if young people who have spent more than a decade of hard work on getting a good education & reasonably well paying jobs, don't have huge financial obligations to their family (debts, building a house, marrying of siblings etc), and can already buy a car or something worth lakhs in this country - they can build a home theater like this as well. Where there's a will, there's a way bros!

save up a few years. . .avoid buying random items. . .a good Yamaha 5.1 sound system costs 40k, decent screen is around 9-12k . . .projector is variable but a normal 1080p projector costs 10-15k, 1440p costs 20-40k, calculating miscellaneous fixtures. . .is around 1.2lakhs total, not really a "richy-rich investment" if your into movies and cinema, and smart about your budget.

Hi.. Thanks for this very informative video.. I have a couple of clarifications :
    1. Flooring : If we are initially skipping the acoustic panels, then is there any use having floor carpets?
    2. Projector : Benq TH585 vs Epson EB-U05. Ur thoughts? DLP or LCD? Need short throw. Or a 4K TV?
    3. AV Receiver : Yamaha RX-V685. Thoughts?
    4. Ur Sofa : Available online? I have space for only one such sofa :D
    5. Ceiling speaker : Polk Audio US RC80i vs JBL Arena 6ic. Ur thoughts?

Great Video. Thanks for sharing. I have a setup that evolved over time. I started with just a simple Denon HTIB back in 2011 for 30K. Then a year later I managed to replace the fronts with Polk towers. Then the centre channel. For a while it was in the living room. Then moved it to a separate room (Guest room) with a Epson HD Projector and Manual screen. This was in 2014 I think. Then moved to Chennai and changed my sub to Polk. Then changed my old receiver to Dolby Atmos receiver in 2016. Then moved again and changed the surrounds to Jbl control one. So now I have a 5.1.2 setup with Apple TV as the Media player. The pinch was less as my spend was in different stages. I would still say that you made a great deal for this setup at the price that you mentioned ! Good job !

You can buy over time. Best thing about such home theater setups is that they are individual components. Buy the AVR the last. Get speakers one by one first. Speakers are good for a few years, even decades if taken good care. AVRs like most electronics can get obsolete in 5-6 years.

I like the presentation. Very well done. A few comments. 1. Using different brands in your home theater creates signature mismatch. Specially the fronts and center (which is same in your case so it's good). 2. You need to change your sony speakers asap man....what I feel is that you have given more weight to picture and not sound. The AVR is very capable and you need to connect good speakers like KEF, Klipsch, Monitor Audio, etc. 3. Audio and video on streaming services are compressed so to experience the capability of your system you need an excellent Blu-ray player and 4K disks. There is a drastic difference in experience, video and audio both. 4. A dual sub setup is critical in a HT setup. Not cos 2 will be louder but 2 will give you a better experience. I have tried many many sub brands and my current setup has couple of SVS SB4000s. They are among the best. REL is also beautiful but people prefer them with stereo setup mostly.

    • @TechnologyJock

just a cost saving tip from my experience: while building, you get really paranoid about future proofing etc, but after that there's almost no looking back, you just tend to enjoy the content, and the AV experience will be really good.
So try not to spend any significant amount for that extra 5%.
Basically, you can build a theatre that's 90% as good as what you initially imagined, at 50-60% cost.

One little thing - the correct spelling is Wharfedale, and though they do have some high-end products, the vast majority of their range is considered mid-end. The same applies to Jamo, Elac and brands such as Mission (same parent as Wharfedale), which is also readily available in India.

I believe Indian middle class families are starting to install an economical home theatre audio system with their economical 40-50 inch TVs. While that might not be an ideal home theatre but works brilliantly to their expectations. Could you please make a video on INR 25k budget audio home theatres? Eg. Sony HT IV300.

Nice video on dolby atmos. My suggestion is to go for 65in 4k tv instead of projector, this way you can save handsome money and spend it on a good receiver. I always suggest a Denon X series specially if you want to enjoy Dolby atmos and lossless audio frequency. I have got 5.1.2 setup with Denon X1300 receiver with Polk audio 5.1 speaker and Onkyo skh 410 Dolby atmos enabled speakers. And believe me it's just awesome..

Look up Chromecast or the cheaper AnyCast and plug it into a vacant hdmi port of your receiver. Get your PC/Laptop on the same WiFi network as the Chromecast, and you should be good to go. I am using AnyCast on my Marantz receiver and onwards to an unsmart Full HD LED TV... works fine with both mobile and laptop (movies on an external HDD), with no issues! Though an Ethernet option would be better, but I didn't want cables all over! Advantage of plugging into the receiver instead of the TV is that you get much better sound, as you can control it in more ways than what you would achieve if you tap the return sound from the TV.
