There have been alot more gas stations that offer ethanol free gas. I have been using this in all of my kids bikes and small motors and it has saved me from cleaning the carbs every spring.
Can a flooded float chamber not make my bike start? It will bump start fine and kick fine when it’s warm but the second I try to kick it cold it smells like gas after one kick. I just drained the float and tons of gas came out, could that have been the issue?
I usually do that if the bike does not have an easily accessible carb drain screw/bolt. I’ve always wondered if burning the gas out of the carb on a 2 stroke is okay or not since they get their lubrication from the fuel.
Premium gas has up to 10% ethanol just like all the other grades, unless the gas pump specifically says “ethanol free” in Kentucky where I live I only know of one gas station that sells ethanol free and it costs more than premium gas

I've been running VP C9. Zero Ethanol. Problem almost eliminated. Not cheap though.
I run the gas out of our bikes after every ride, carb issues are nonexistent.
It works
I’ll do this from now on!
Awesome video with some cool insight.
I just had this problem! Buddy of mine helped me fix it ;-)

Another great video Jay!
True that Jay! Every Time.
I've saved many a carburetor with long soaks in Chem Dip...
If my bike gets flooded, will draining
the carb help get it re-started?
Help a lot or just a little bit?

Quick question. Is it bad to turn the gas off and run it to burn the gas out of the carb?
I’ve had good luck with this practice

@@awesomefish100 Same here. I do it by accident on occasion - forget to turn gas on when starting
I do this with my bike and all small motors of mine (generator, pressure washer). Works a treat
Good to know.
so is turning the gas off then starting the bike and letting it run until gas is out of carb and shuts off that’s the way i’ve been doing it
Yes that can work good
Will this happen with non ethanol gas?
No
The ethanol in the gas is horrible on the engine, and stabilizers don't work on it. Use premium high grade gas, they don't have ethanol in it
Not in California, where he lives. Only race gas and avgas are ethanol free.

I've bought a few plugs over this.
What do you recommend for fuel injected bikes if you aren't going to ride for a bit (weeks or months)?
Fuel injected bikes has shut-off valve which allows fuel from tank to injector only when the ignition key is turned on
Dang now I’m worried, she’s been sitting for about 7-8 months now.
its not a big deal just clean the jet
I got lazy now I'm paying for it on my bikes....
Oh never had that problem with non ethanol gas
Yes for sure-
You’re not using it. Grammar is as important as cleaning your (used correctly) carb :)
Very funny:) you're absolutely right, but I watch Jay's vids for his mechanical prowess not his perfect grammar. Let's go riding!
