      LOL c'mon, Longines is very well-known, selling millions of watches per year. Its funny saying very few know it. Your analogy should be used for brands like Rado or Ball.

      @@NhatHuyNg you weren’t listening to the video. If Longines truly positioned to its prime history, it would’ve been sold at a price level next to Rolex and Omega. So his analogy still makes sense.

    for some reason my dad loves Longines over any other watch maker. He's also a very VERY frugal person so he's never allowed himself to enjoy such a watch. Honestly, in a world where a $18k Rolex is normal and that you can't even buy a decent watch at an official AD via walk-in, the Longines is a very good deal of a watch. Looks great, Swiss made, see-thru back. Most importantly for me, it's my dad's dream watch, so I'm going to buy him one and give it to him... as soon as this covid thing is over and I can see him.

    A little Longines story...
    My grandfather left his watch to my eldest brother. He's now 62 but when he got it he was a teenager.
    Well, he managed to lose it within months, while skiing in Aviemore. But ten years later he got a phone call to say it had been found and handed into lost property. And following a quick service he still wears it to this day, every day😇

Too rich for me then as a mere lad so I bought a Tissot ('Rover/Jaguar' level!) which served me very well for many years before being passed on to a good friend. I finally bought my Longines > 30 years ago and it's still going strong.

      @@tfacison The thing is the public generally is not aware of what Longines brings to the wrist, so to speak. The 3 watches presented here provide a flavour of it. They just see a watch with a nice design and looks classy but not the details we see and appreciate.
      Take another example, the Longines Flagship Heritage - a simple but nice looking dress watch to the general public. To those in the know, it's a watch that's very well thought that modernises lightly one of their classic designs, has a good bit history behind the design, and has good build quality, especially for the money it asks for.

    I have been obsessed with these heritage watches from Longines for nearly 2 months now. This video only confirms my reasoning. As a huge fan of restored vintage time pieces, Longines pieces always seem to have a higher value in the vintage world, regardless nearly of condition. I believe they are a brand that does not get the respect it deserves. Styling appeals to those with a more common taste, yet the engineering and solid performance justifies their worth of every dollar spent. Time for me to get off the fence here and own one of these fantastic time pieces. Thank you for a very informative and in depth look one of my favorite brands and styles.

    I truly hope you can do more reviews of absolutely anything Longines. They deserve no less than your incredible videos. My brother and I have, between us, the heritage bigeye, the conquest, the hydroconquest times two, and the heritage classic 38.5 mm. We’ve always been amazed by your videos and it would be fantastic to see some more along the lines of the more “affordable” brands. Hamilton has an incredible history, and we see that in only a few of these. Can we look into some of that? Truly, your videos are second to none.

Bang for your buck I don’t think they can be beaten..maybe alongside Tudor (but they’re increasing in price) I need to get a watch from the heritage line next.

  • @BruBish
    @BruBish 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A guy that works for me charged me with finding him a watch. I found several options that fit his price and style requirements but the one that I recommended most was the Longines. He loved it, bought it and wears it daily. I couldn’t believe the quality he got in hydroconquest for a smidge over £1000. Longines is really the sleeping giant of the watch industry today. So much history, reasonably priced and brilliantly constructed. They know their position in the market and they give you some of the best quality you could ask for at their price. They actually go beyond some brands at a higher price.

    • @jakekaywell5972

      Indeed. The only other underrated watch brand that I can think of that comes anywhere close to Longines is Raketa. One of the few surviving Soviet watchmakers and woefully unappreciated.

  • @jamesdrichardson3447

    My daily wear is a Longines Oposition Chronograph, it's all Stainless with the near Black Dial, it has everything I admire in a quality watch at such an affordable price.
    The main reason I chose this model was the fact that the chronograph minute hand is positioned on the main dial underneath the chronograph second hand at the 12 position instead of located within a sub dial, it just oozes class when you notice this.
    It may sound as if there's too much going on with 7 hands to the watch but I admire it as much today as when I bought it and watching the hands reset in unison is so satisfying.
    Keep up the great work you do on here, your production and presentations are excellent, no gimmicky gurning thumbnails like some which I could mention, just straightforward high class reviews carried out with a precision to match any Swiss Watch.😎

      I have a non-chronograph Longines Oposition Round with the white dial, from 2000. Still wear it regularly 20 years later. Now and again I remind my wife: "If you're gonna sell my watch collection when I'm dead, make sure you get some decent money for this one!" Hah.

    • @jamesdrichardson3447
      @jamesdrichardson3447 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RustyPetterson My wife also bought my Oposition for me, it also has the round case which I forgot to state, I much prefer it over the square models. I'm more of an amateur collector, mostly Quartz Seiko and Citizen but I do own one or two Automatics,.... but my favourite is my Longines. 😉

      @@jamesdrichardson3447 Same here on the collection - I now have 19 watches, mostly Seiko/Citizen/Casio/Swatch/Timex kind of thing, but the Longines is the daddy! I suspect it always will be. My only regret is that I didn't get the black dial model, cos I'm finding it hard to tell the time on it without my glasses on! Currently watching out for a spare black dial on eBay.

Its beautiful in both black and blue although I prefer blue.
