Subscribed. Very helpful. Thanks. Question: How far down can we get to the surface with, say, a 100 square-mile area and maintain believable resolution? I'm looking to create a flyover of an area encompassing that wide a space, but the altitude is sort of up to me. Thank you!
The best 18 minutes I have used in my life! Thank you for an explanation and I had know idea we had to maths in the import section, how would I have ever known we had to do that, that's so Unreal lol. Sir, how would you make a small landscape to import in UE5 I just want to make a volcano and add it to the existing level I have. Any help would be appreciated.
I thought you have to set specific recommended values to "Section size" and "number of components" from the unreal doc so it's not compromising quality or perfomance. Do heightmaps work different?
I really don't know about that, I'll search to see if that is any downsides of using heightmaps, but at least for this simple test I didn't notice any performance issues, but of course it's just a simple landscape with nothing in it
I have a question - what should I do to make the exported landscape from Gaea to FBX match the landscape in the EU engine, which was generated from the height map from Gaea? At the moment they are similar, BUT far from perfect.
Great Video but when importing the height maps in to Unreal you really don't need to do any math. Just use 500 for x and y (1009 is approximately 1000 so the result of the math operations will be approx. 500.)
@craftymining4858 let me cure your ignorance, landmass plugin, its free and free and free and much better than some shill ass paid version that only takes advantage of artists, ask chatgpt how to use it, or suffer your own lack of willingness to learn, not my problem, i laid out how to fix it, rest is up to you

if you dont pay for gaea your project is illegal, so stop using shitty paid tools lmao
u can legally use the free version of gaea for any use how is it illegal ?
