    Hello from Ireland Andrew! Love the videos. Super shots. Been to Tenerife last year and made a vlog also (StargazerMan) heading back next summer. Clear skies!

    Next time take a trip to La Palma - just one island to the left in the canaries and even darker skies. I've been on both island three times each and there's certainly a difference to be seen.
    Alwyas clear skies, Daniel

    Wowsers, Andrew, that was absolutely epic! Thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end - awesome shots and you 100% made the most of your time there. Tenerife has been on my “one day” list for a while and I think you’ve just sealed the deal. Thanks for sharing and glad you had a great time. 👍

    Wow Andrew, what an amazing few days you've had there! Awesome results also as always. Thanks for filming a vlog there also! Was some excellent entertainment from the hospital in neighbouring La Palma (where I will finally be released tomorrow 👌).

    Glad you did so well, I had a good time too. I was surprised at how many people were out tourist and astro-photographers. I did the tour of the Observatories and shot them from the lay-bay. Great stuff.

      Ah great! Yeah the lay-bays were great positions for the telescope. Happy how easy access they are

    It's on my bucket list. Most of my night sky photography is around Coigach and Assynt. Awesome, almost primeval scenery BUT we never actually get the galactic core above the horizon during the hours on darkness, unfortunately. I've just finished working out my dates for October/November when the twilight, moon and Milky Way position place nice together.
    This sounds ridiculously elitist, but it's a shame to see the area packed with so many "casual" sightseers for whom seeing the stars is probably just one more excursion on their holiday. But then, everyone has a right to enjoy the spectacle and it is a major holiday island. I wonder what the opportunities are like on nearby islands such as La Palma or Gomera? I tried some night sky on Fuerteventura a couple of years ago, but unfortunately we had Calima for the whole time we were there!

      Still love to visit Assynt and its for sure on my list for places to visit! La Palma seems to be that wee bit darker too since less built up areas. And yes thankfully Scotland doesn't have huge bus loads of people going around at night :)

    Better weather than Scotland with now 11 and a half months with hardly a dry day and I've never known anything like it constant low pressure systems since July 2023 began.Although the odd rare gems got through like Nacreous Clouds in December 2023 and the Aurora Borealis of a few weeks ago.

    • @scotlandsnightsky
      @scotlandsnightsky  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah definitely weather is more settled around Tenerife than here 😂

    Amazing skies and photos. What camera did you use to record the nighttime vlog parts? It has great low light recording!

      Sony A7S and Samyang 24mm F1.4 :)
